“Needed a good location for a business meeting and this worked perfectly. We sat in a corner booth in the bar and were immediately waited on. Drinks arrived quickly as did our meals. I ordered the Chicken Crispers, which were good perfectly. The fries could use some work along with the Mac n cheese. My colleague had the Philly, which he said was good. Was very surprised on how empty the dining room was, but being mid-week might of been reason. Overall good experience.“
“I ate there while staying at the Holiday Inn. The mac and cheese was excellent. They had several craft beers and quite a few TV screens, although about half were tuned to the same game. It was a bit pricey but not exorbitant. The server was friendly but not cloying.“

“First visit to The Charles today.Had lunch today with a close friend who has been many times..It was my "birthday" lunch..The service was great..we both ordered the The Reuben which was absolutely amazing and the Truffle Fries were outstanding..And at the end of our meal..our server brought out a little birthday dessert with a candle which was the perfect size and very decadent.Loved the charming atmosphere as well..we had eaten upstairs..Will definitely be returning!“

“I took my son here for a bday breakfast celebration and the owner was so friendly he even had the kitchen make a pancake stake for a cake with candle and everything. It made him feel special and it was a nice experience. The food was fresh and served quickly. The inside is cool and the parking is minimal but not too bad.Kid-friendliness: Super fun decorating and the waitresses are very nice.“

“Always amazing food and great service. My only complaint is ever time I make reservations and show up on time, I end up having to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated. Not the end of the world, but for the pricing, I expect a table to be ready when reserved.“

“Went here for dinner and had a very nice time. The food was great and so was the service. I'll definitely go back again!Parking: Google maps took me only to the entrance of the golf club. The restaurant is beyond that, up a well-lit driveway with a large parking area at the top.“

“Picked up lunch today and brought it home. Excellent food! The goobkwr was outstanding and hubby loves the jalapeno popper dog. Also got Mac & cheese and the baked beans which I highly recommend and of course the salty balls. Had to also get the T-shirt too. Best food in the area. Makes me miss summer cookouts and was a nice break for all the holiday craziness and foods.“

“We just had a brunch for 70+ people after a funeral here last weekend. The owner was wonderful. I did not have to worry about a thing. The food was terrific, the staff wonderful, the venue perfect...they could even have accomodated more folks if needed. I didn't have to worry about thing. I highly recommend Cotton Hollow Kitchen. Very pleased.“

“Excellent food and service! Went last minute for dinner on Saturday night. It was an hour wait, but they have a large waiting area with tables where you can sit and enjoy drinks and apps. Ricotta appetizer was to die for. Also loved my entree...Amish Chicken.“

“Had to stop here on my self proclaimed "burger tour" when I drove across the country at the recommendation of George Motz. Fantastic burger cooked in a unique way which yields a very moist and juicy burger. There is so much ooiegooie cheese and the bun is soft but not soggy. I'm from California and we don't do burgers this way, but I have to tip my cap to Ted. Fantastic place. I'm sure locals know it but if you're passing by, do yourself a favor and try this local gem.“

I would definitely come back and try some of their actual dinners“

“Family style bar and restaurant. I've had a thick juicy cheeseburger and the fish and chips. Both dishes were nice large portions of flavorful and fresh tasting and well seasoned food. The place is friendly and well appointed. Prices are reasonable and service is great. The patrons are having fun socializing with each other. There are even families, but no young children. They are a mix of young and old. People are dressed in casual work clothes.“

“This was one of the best restaurant experiences of my life. Our waitress Diep, was so kind, so helpful, and just so fun! She made this experience a time to remember. I would recommend the truffle fries, the mac and cheese, the garlic bread, which is a new food item on the menu. The garlic bread has blue cheese and pesto. It was so good! I loved it so much! All in all, I am coming back again and again!Parking: So many parking spots, there is a parking garage.“

“Wow! That was some of the best BBQ me and my fam had in a while. I order basically everything on the menu and was not disappointed. The smokiness was on point the tenderness was perfect and the sauces were amazing. Check Smoke on Main in Old Wethersfield, it is legit and should be supported locally. Priced just right and centrally located we should be grateful. Kudos to Tom and staff!Carlos R.“

“We only tried the stacked nachos and fried mozzarella bites but both of them were SO good. We loved that the nachos come in a big tray so the toppings get on most of the chips. The only negative thing was that they charge you $2 to add guacamole to the nachos and we found that it's a tiny container (see pic) and the flavor was not good.“

“This establishment has been here since the early 50s, though I doubt it still has its original owner. This is a diner it the most classical sense. It is notnkne of those places pretending to be something it isn't.A lot of so called diners nowadays are nothing more than resturants with a counter. This is a true holdover from when the best way from Boston to New York City was by taking US-5 which conveniently still runs right in front of the place. The food was as one would expect. There was nothing that stood out stunningly. The burger was large, and the onion rings were able to satiate my weekly grease intake.I will still be going back here at least one more time, but I'll be trying something else instead. One thing I was disappointed in was that there didn't seem to be any pies. I was looking forward to trying a diner pie, but alas, it was not ment to be.Vegetarian options: There are a bunchnof things that are vegetarian, but most of the menu is mostly meat.Dietary restrictions: This is probably not the place to go if you have any restrictions to your diet.Parking: There are a few spaces in front, but a rather a good-sized lot right around back.Kid-friendliness: Sure, why not. This place has both high and booster chairs. I don't remember seeing a kids' menu, but it's never too soon to introduce them to diner life.Wheelchair accessibility: It's surprisingly accessible. There are a few spots out back, and a very nice ramp of which to roll up. There is a table, buy only the one. If you ca t sit there, you'd need to sit at the end of a booth.“

“Went on a Friday night, and the bar area was pretty packed, which was a good sign. Service was a little slow; it seemed like they were short staffed. We waited a few minutes before a hostess showed up to greet us. Once we sat down, it took another 10 minutes or so for a waiter to come to our table. Again, they did seem understaffed, and the place was pretty busy. Food: Cesar salad 7/10 - enough dressing, croutons Cup of New England Clam Chowder 4/10 This was super salty. Smoked honey chipotle wings 10/10 - You could taste the smokiness, The flavor was delicious, and the wings were cooked to perfection Blackened ribeye w/green beans & twice baked potato 8.5/10 - The flavor on the ribeye was amazing! The green beans, although not seasoned, had a smokey flavor, and the twice baked potato was yummy. Steak tips Risotto 9/10 This was absolutely scrumptious! There are plenty of tender steak tips, creamy risotto with lots of flavor. We will definitely be back!“

Service is fantastic -- K, K and A are always awesome! This is a great spot in the summer when the deck is open to have a drink or appetizer outside.I also have to give ten stars to their Winter Brunch menu -- we went here just the past weekend and it was hands down the BEST brunch we've ever had in town or when traveling. “We had a nice experience at Violi's. I had the Lobster Ravioli and my wife had the Chicken Marsala. We agreed that the red sauce had a really nice home made flavor. “We are a group of eight Women golfers that travel each week to play a different course in CT. Get the usual eye rolling looks from the men from parking lot, pro shop to the course and finally the bar. Some men are polite but they are few. Quarry Ridge staff went over the top to make our Tuesday golf experience relaxing and fun. Course was in good shape. Kevin in the pro shop attentive asking questions after our round to see if we had a good time and what were our thoughts about women’s golf. Poor Kevin got a earful I’m afraid. He was such a good sport! The chef came out and checked on our lunch. Talked about his menu. Very enthusiastic. It was a perfect day Tuesday Blue sky, cool temps, Great Golf and being with friends. Thank you to all the staff at Quarry Ridge. You will see us all again. Keep up the great work of making women feel valued in the sport of golf. Kindest Regards, Kathy Mroczka“

“Talk about a fantastic hot dog. This 1950s style diner is famous for their 10 inch hot dogs for good reason. The hot dog itself has tons of flavor and can be served with numerous toppings. I recommend adding cheese which they melt between the bun and the hot dog so it's almost like it's wrapped in grilled cheese! The parking lot has picnic tables for the summer time and the staff is friendly. It is cash only but there is an atm inside!“

“Wow !!! A group of 4 of us were traveling through the area and needed a good place for Dinner …We called and made a reservation , the owner Al was very personable on the phone .We arrived for dinner and he had our name on table , and he introduced himself …We had a couple of beers while he explained the menu to us ….we Decided on a couple of appetizers and also a small pizza to sample before ordering our dinner . The appetizers arrived and were very good, but the star of the show was definitely the pizza , so much flavor … the crust was to die for light and airy and so much crunch in the crust !!!! Next was the Dinner - Chicken Francaise , Chicken Parm , Chicken Marsala , Fettuccini Carbonaro .All meals arrived hot and were Delicious …We also got to meets Al’s Daughter who was very personable just like her Father ….We wished we had this Restaurant in our community . Give this Restaurant a shot , you won’t regret it . Thank you“
