“Couldnt even take pictures because of how fast I ate my food lol. I must say this food is amazing amazing amazing. I went and got fried pork and yellow rice and everything was so flavorful and prepared with angel hands. If I would scale there food on a scale of 1-10 it would break the scale at a billion. Thank you for providing top tier customer service and helping me pick out what I want to eat. “I've been coming to AJ's for over 20 years. literally every time I have friends from out of town visit me and want to have a drink and some good bar food we go to AJ's. every single one of my out-of-town friends always says this is the best bar food they've ever had in their life. I literally have friends who call me up to come to Meriden just to have food from AJ's. my kids are addicted to the food at AJ's as well . I can honestly say if I ever move out of Connecticut, AJ's is one of the very few restaurants that I would ever truly miss and want to stop by if I come back to Connecticut for a visit. Thanks for hanging in and being so committed to our city. with the type of food and friendliness that AJ's gives they could have been successful any place in Connecticut.“

“Many KFCs in the CT area are hit or miss. Although, this Meriden location is always kept clean and the staff stays friendly. Hopefully this stays the way it is, we all know customer service and cleanliness are on the decline across the board in the fast food restaurant genre. Good job at this location for the high standards!Kid-friendliness: Treated my 3 year old daughter with loads of love and compliments. Also, great job KFC for adding the kids meal to the menu!“

“Excellent food - our late lunch was excellent! We both had meals and they were nice and fresh, and the restaurant was clean as a whistle! Service at the counter was very good even though they were really busy. If we're back in that area again, we will definitely stop at that Popeyes! The bathroom was nice and clean as well!Kid-friendliness: Very friendly and helpful counter staff -service with a nice smile here! And they thanked each person after they ordered their food. That's something sadly lacking these days. Great experience at this Popeyes! Oh and our lunches were DELICIOUS - fresh and hot and yummy! ❤️❤️“

“Great atmosphere and employees. The owners are friendly and the drinks strong. I love the diverse crowd and the free entry. The food is good and they have good music on weekends with Bobby their resident DJ. Pool tables are there and darts.“

“Called a week in advance to book a 2pm lunch/dinner on Saturday of Mother’s Day weekend with family coming from various states across the Northeast. Over the phone the hostess was extremely friendly and found a spot for our group of 10-11 people at 2:30 today. The hostess over the phone warned us that we would have to go up and down stairs to get to the room which we greatly appreciated because we had some elderly members of the group who were able to prepare for the stairs in advance.Upon arriving we were promptly seated in the green room upstairs which was the perfect size for our moderate sized party. The room was great for conversation because it was away from the hubbub of the rest of the restaurant and we were all around one large table. This also made sharing apps extremely easy which we enjoyed. Our waitress, Kelly, was absolutely phenomenal. She took careful consideration of when to put in our food so as to not crowd the table with plates too soon after we got our appetizers. The overall pacing, presentation, and flavor of all the drinks and food was amazing and everyone left extremely satisfied. As someone who is from CT and who planned the get together with family for this weekend, I couldn’t be happier with how J Tim’s and Kelly accommodated us. We will definitely be returning in the future for similar events.Only reason 4 stars was given for atmosphere is because it’s tough to tell what is intentionally antique in the restaurant and what paints, light switches, etc are genuinely in need of repair or cleaning. I understand the building has been around for generations, and this by no means will make me not want to eat there…but I do think there’s a fine line between restoring/preserving a historic building and performing necessary upkeep, maintenance, and replacement of small things such as cracking paint or water damaged areas.“

“My girlfriend and I love trying new restaurants and today was the Hop Haus. I must say from the minute we walked in, we felt happy as the place was warm and friendly. Mary, our bartender, did an excellent job making sure we had everything we needed. I said to myGirlfriend, I guess there really is “something about Mary”.
