Wonderful place in Middletown Ct. went with wife and another couple and we were all wowed with the food. Never knew this place existed and just stumbled upon it on a Friday night and very glad we did. Highly recommend

They couldn't find our reservation on open table. Bread was good, lobster ravioli good (though not much meat), scallops were good as well. The braised beef was ok, but tasted more like sausage. For the price, a salad should be included. $150 for 4 people no alcohol is a little pricey for nothing spectacular. Food very slow to come out. Specials menu list no prices?

We were visiting Wesleyan and needed a place to eat dinner. I randomly selected Stella D'oro from Open Table. It was exactly what I was looking for. Good food, attentive service, reasonably priced. I'm glad I chose it.

Our waitress was lovely and answered all of our questions. Food was a little slow coming out of the kitchen, but honestly didn't mind as it was nice not to be rushed out of a restaurant. The waitress even brought my husband an extra beer as a courtesy. We will definitely be back when we are in Middletown.

This was our first time at Stella D'Oro. Service was excellent. Our server was knowledgeable and very friendly. The menu offer something for everyone in our group. Also, parking was easy. We would definitely go back.

Stella D'oro is a little off the beaten path from downtown Main St in Middletown. What a hidden gem! BTW, SD has a huge FREE parking lot behind the building! SD is situated in a beautifully renovated vintage theater with a nice dining room and a huge adjoining bar with 2nd-floor dinner seating! Our martini and wine orders were excellent! Classic warm Italian bread was offered with deliciously spicy (garlic, red pepper) dipping oil. The mussels appetizer was delicious and we needed additional bread to sop up the wonderful garlic sauce of this dish...seeing a trend here? My wife enjoyed a nice Mediterranean salad for dinner. My Scallop and Shrimp Fra Diavlo dinner was outstanding, both seafoods and the pasta were perfectly cooked in a marinara sauce (nice amount of spice) with plenty of garlic. The orchid flower on each dinner plate was a nice touch. We also indulged in another classic...old-school cannoli beautifully presented with whipped cream and raspberries! Service was friendly and well-timed! This visit to SD was on St. V's Day and the place was packed when we arrived at~6 PM. A line for seating endured until we left about 8. Can't say enough great things about SD...it will be a regular dining stop for us going forward!

The atmosphere is welcoming and rustic, with a touch of authenticity that makes you feel like you are at home.The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. They welcomed me with a smile and made me feel at ease from the first moment. They also provided me with helpful advice on choosing traditional dishes from the area.The cuisine is simply delicious. I had the opportunity to taste typical dishes such as polenta and frico, and I must say that they were absolutely delicious. The ingredients were fresh and high quality, and the taste was authentic and full of flavour.Furthermore, the restaurant offers a wide selection of local wines, which pair perfectly with traditional dishes. I had the opportunity to try some wines from the region, and was pleasantly surprised by their quality and complexity.The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with a touch of tradition and authenticity. It is the perfect place to enjoy the typical cuisine of Carnia and immerse yourself in the local culture.

I can believe we didn’t try this amazing restaurant until tonight. I can’t say enough about the excellent service and attention paid to our party. Top notch recommendations made for the best tasting meal I have had in a long time. We will enjoy this fantastic place many times in the future as our staple for high quality and superb food.
