Reverie Brewing Company Brewery • $$
57B Church Hill Rd, Newtown

“This brewery is the best secret of CT. I selfishly want it to stay a secret because it’s so damn good but the world needs to know about Reverie. I never knew what a Kolsch was before I came here but after trying “You’re on Mute” I can’t live without it. Oh and Tricera-Hops… “

Newsylum Brewing Co. Brewery • $$
Keating Farms Ave, Newtown

“NewSylum is a brewery built in the old Newtown asylum (the employee dining hall, if I remember correctly). They usually don't have six IPAs on draft like most places, shuffling between a healthy mix of styles. Beers range from good to great; I've never had a bad one. The pizza is where this place really stands out. It's fired in a brick oven and the result is a New Haven inspired personal pizza that's a little closer to New York style (CT beer fans: think Brewport's but smaller). You can tell it's popular because they have a huge stack of to-go boxes. There's a lot of other stuff on the menu I haven't bothered trying because this is so good. Parking is a bit of a pain, especially if you want to fight for one of the two car chargers on the other side of the Fairfield Hills campus. But the chargers are free (for two hours), so if you can get one, lucky you! Also, it can get crowded and loud sometimes, especially when the music starts. Most breweries are like that. It's better in the summer when their outdoor space is fully operational. Plan your visit accordingly. But do visit the old asylum. You'd be insane not to.“

Quirk Works Brewing & Blendery Brewery •
78 Triangle St Suite 2, Danbury - 6.96 miles

“Quirk Works is a wonderful establishment with tons of creativity to boot! If you're not sure what to get or you want to try everything like us, flights are the way to go. Or just ask one of the wonderful staff members, they're plenty friendly. For food we recommend trying those Buffalo Chicken Wontons. Fried to perfection and not too spicy they make for a great accompaniment.“

Broken Symmetry Gastro Brewery Brewery • $$
5 Depot Pl, Bethel - 6.5 miles

“Might be our favorite place around town. We came first for the beers which are excellent. The Nimbus is my favorite but honestly haven't had one we don't enjoy! After a while we started trying the food and wow! Didn't expect a brewery to have such amazing food. The sandwiches are amazing, we love the Bahn Mi and my family is obsessed with the chicken cutlet sandwich. The truffle pretzel is also a favorite, as was the seasonal trout dip. Their cocktails are pretty good too! The staff is fun and friendly! We always feel comfortable. Lastly, both the indoor and outdoor seating are comfortable- a great summer spot! Dog friendly tables are a bonus!!“

Nod Hill Brewery Brewery • $$
137 Ethan Allen Hwy, Ridgefield - 12.18 miles

“So happy I was invited to the 3rd Annual Afternoon of Casts at Nod Hill Brewery yesterday afternoon. A friend invited me to attend...it was my first time there and I had a blast!!!! So many awesome and interesting people were in attendance in addition to the wonderful staff of Nod Hill. Aaron, one of the nicest young guys out there, was extremely nice when I inquired about leaving my car there overnight as well as when he had the unpleasant task of turning away prospective patrons that didn't know there was a private event. For the event there was a special raw oyster bar, but the brewery still had its food truck in full swing. I stuck with the oysters and a bag of popcorn, but the food being served from the truck looked delicious. (I just had more formal dinner plans after.) The atmosphere is casual, welcoming, and fun. I will certainly be returning!“

Woodbury Brewing Company Brewery • $$
738 Main St S, Woodbury - 9.24 miles

“Really enjoyed this brewery. We went mid afternoon after a hike, very casual. They had a solo musician who was enjoyable to set a chill vibe. There is a big sculpture of a sycamore tree that was very cool. Stopped for an easy beer and late lunch. The Bavarian style pretzel was hot and perfect salt. Shared some wings. Will return“
