“First visit to The Charles today.Had lunch today with a close friend who has been many times..It was my "birthday" lunch..The service was great..we both ordered the The Reuben which was absolutely amazing and the Truffle Fries were outstanding..And at the end of our meal..our server brought out a little birthday dessert with a candle which was the perfect size and very decadent.Loved the charming atmosphere as well..we had eaten upstairs..Will definitely be returning!“

“Wow! That was some of the best BBQ me and my fam had in a while. I order basically everything on the menu and was not disappointed. The smokiness was on point the tenderness was perfect and the sauces were amazing. Check Smoke on Main in Old Wethersfield, it is legit and should be supported locally. “This establishment has been here since the early 50s, though I doubt it still has its original owner. This is a diner it the most classical sense. It is notnkne of those places pretending to be something it isn't.A lot of so called diners nowadays are nothing more than resturants with a counter. This is a true holdover from when the best way from Boston to New York City was by taking US-5 which conveniently still runs right in front of the place.The food was as one would expect. There was nothing that stood out stunningly. The burger was large, and the onion rings were able to satiate my weekly grease intake.I will still be going back here at least one more time, but I'll be trying something else instead. One thing I was disappointed in was that there didn't seem to be any pies. I was looking forward to trying a diner pie, but alas, it was not ment to be.Vegetarian options: There are a bunchnof things that are vegetarian, but most of the menu is mostly meat.Dietary restrictions: This is probably not the place to go if you have any restrictions to your diet.Parking: There are a few spaces in front, but a rather a good-sized lot right around back.Kid-friendliness: Sure, why not. This place has both high and booster chairs. I don't remember seeing a kids' menu, but it's never too soon to introduce them to diner life.Wheelchair accessibility: It's surprisingly accessible. There are a few spots out back, and a very nice ramp of which to roll up. There is a table, buy only the one. If you ca t sit there, you'd need to sit at the end of a booth.“

“We went here for dinner Friday night. The service was good and the food was great. The portions and ratios were spot on. The prices are certainly reasonable. Everything was what we had hoped for - expectations were met.They even have Yuengling beer!We had cheesecake for dessert and I was impressed with how Kristen brought the tea and cheesecake out together. I can’t tell you how many people screw this up. The cheesecake was decent, but I think next time I will try the carrot cake.There will certainly be a next time…In the past, I had only gone here for company Christmas parties and had found the food to be very good.“

The nachos and sliders are a must try if you visit!Drinks: if you are a drinker, we tried the La Jolie Fleur Rosé and the Cuban Mojito. Though very tasty the portions were small for the price.Pricing: One thing that I was disappointed about was that the salad was about 10-12 dollars but to add any protein it would cost 10-12 more.Otherwise amazing little spot in the nice part of Wethersfield ! “It was my first time going here and I was very satisfied with my meal. I got the lobster crab legs potatoes shrimp & broccoli and I really enjoyed it. Not only that but the service was spot on. Was seated in 15 min & my waiter was top tier!“
