“I have now been here 4 times. My grandmother fell in love with this restaurant, so now we go quite frequently! We love that 90% of the menu is gluten free and can accommodate celiac. We really like the pad Thai, pineapple fried rice and the chicken satay!Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for gluten free and celiac”

“Hadn't been to WS, in over 6 months. What a difference a different bartender makes!?? She wasawful. We sat at the bar( as we always do), she never told us her name and it took her awhile to come back to see, if we were ordering anything else than appetizers! Just horrible! I even had to ask another employee for a to- go bag. Boy, do I miss Desiree! ( She was the bartender at WS, for years, just a great, sweet fixture!)”
“The only reason why I didn’t give 5 stars has to do with the price. The server that helped me was phenomenal. I had been waiting longer than I could because I had to be somewhere. He personally made my order so I could leave. Very pleasant and great attitude. I wish I had gotten his name. My visit was on 4/15/23 at around 1:30 pm. Woidbridge , CT location. He was a young small built African American with glasses. All that being said….price was such a rip off. The drink consisted of maybe 6oz of coffee,low-fat milk & a shot of flavor. Over $6!!!!!!!Very small cup. Economy is bad right. now. I’m 70 years old still have to work 40 hours a week to support myself. Should offer better prices. Server saved the entire experience. My thanks to him”
“Even though the toaster is temporarily down, this location has the freshest bread and ingredients. I seek them out when I'm in town. Let me just add, best prices available for subway. Hands down my favorite Subway location. Also, I want to say, the people that work here are friendly. Come support this location!!”

“Modern Apizza is our favorite pizza restaurant. Always a must when we are in New Haven. Nothing comes close in Florida”

“I feel like a lot of people don’t know that there really is an embarrassment of riches of restaurants in New Haven County. If you love good food all you have to do is look around here. Dad is the one who made the reservation at Fair Haven Oyster Club (I’m pretty sure you must make a reservation, the spot is small and if the weather is bad the only seating is the bar and a row of two tops behind the bar). I looked up the menu and it looked pretty SPECTACULAR. Reminder: I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry. Lots of times my choices are somewhat limited when we dine out, not at Fair Haven. WOW. Now, if you don’t eat seafood I’m pretty sure you’re out of luck. I don’t think there was anything vegetarian, let alone vegan. Note: Dad reserved “in the bar” on Resy. Turns out that is stools AT the bar. “Dining room” is the two tops that are right behind the bar. So choose wisely. Outdoor seating I think is weather dependent and we got the most spectacular evening last night. We arrived very early for our reservation because we were out and about anyway and it worked out because they sat us out on the deck overlooking the water and the boats. Hands Down now of the very best settings I have ever dined in (and I have dined all over this country and world). Weather was perfection, beautiful blue sky, big, fluffy clouds;s tide was going out, water was crystal clear; across the Quinnipiac River you could see old homes and an old church; off in the distance I could see the cars and trucks on 91. I LOVED THAT. I was a little worried when they gave us tiny water glasses. I drink water. Plenty of it. But they kept those little glasses full. Which is no mean feat when the place just got progressively busier and also, keeping water glasses filled is a common “weak point” when I eat out. The service here was ON POINT. While Dad was griping about the QR code menu I ordered a Hendrick’s and Tonic. Just because they looked like their cocktail game was strong. FYI, most places make terrible, undrinkable gin and tonics. Not Fair Haven Oyster Club! They served me the perfect G&T, even in the correct highball glass (!!) with super fizzy tonic water (!!!). That G&T set the tone for the rest of the meal…knocked directly out of the park. The menu is broken into Raw (they have an impressive oyster selection and caviar service, if that’s your thing), soups and salads, small plates and large plates. My plan was to eat my way through salads and small plates. I did order Scallop Crudo (olive oil, lemon, salt, herbs) and Tuna Crudo (over foie gras mousse on a brioche cracker) for the table. But then I ate them… Dad ordered Gildas to share (tiny skewers of anchovies, piparra peppers, castelvetrano olives & Mahon cheese). Super fun bar type snack. Things I ate: Fair Haven Clam Chowder. Which really tasted like a very good escarole (it was actually kelp) soup with clams. Baby Butter Lettuces (w/fried oysters, green goddess, bonito). This is EVERYTHING a salad should be. Delicious, filling, fresh, UMAMI. The fried oysters make it a legit meal. Heirloom Tomatoes (w/bottarga): beautiful, delicious tomatoes served in the most Umami-forward way possible. Uni Toast (w/ white shoyu, sesame & chive). I eat A LOT of Uni. Because I eat A LOT of Omakase and Kaiseki in NYC. So, for me? There are better ways to savor Uni. But, again! UMAMI BOMB. And I am always here for the Umami. Mom and Dad ordered the Grilled Black Cod (over cucumber & snap pea salad w/ kelp ponzu & shiso). SNAPS to them for stretching outside their culinary comfort zones after I explained o them that Black Cod is one of the most delicious fish out there and ponzu us right up their alley! This dish is just glorious: Perfectly grilled fish adrift in a sea of incredibly fresh and delicious vegetables. The snap of those snap peas was perfection. For dessert we ordered Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with honey fennel pollen & wild fennel. I. LOVE. Fennel and will eat it in any form. This really did not taste of fennel. But! This was one of the best cheesecakes I’ve ever h”

“Unfortunately, this is a downgraded rating for this restaurant since we first went there several months ago. First I want to say however, that the service remains excellent and the staff really care. We have been to Morea 5 times since it has opened and tonight we realized that if they really want to be the best and 5 stars, then a few things need to change. 1. There menu is significantly static and really needs to either change or increase the choices on the menu. 2. They need to add more seafood choices. 3. Their dessert menu is not great or imaginative. and 4. They need some surprises on the menu- like wild game, seasonal dishes, or special seasonal delicacies like wild mushrooms or amazing and delicious fish like Pompano. I hope the management of the restaurant reads this review”

“The most memorable experiences are the ones you stumble upon when you least expect them. Dining at Coromandel was one such experience for us.We happened to visit Coromandel looking for a quick bite before retiring after a long day of work. My husband is a foodie and a Bong. Even before we settled down, I knew it was going to be anything but a quick bite! The ambience was great and the staff was very welcoming. They offer a great variety of Indian cuisine covering the length and breadth of India. Their cocktails menu included an eclectic selection of cocktails which were all very unique. Each cocktail stood out in its flavor. The mixologist, Mr. Santhana, came over and explained his process and how he draws from his couple of decades of experience working across the globe and how he sometimes gives an Indian twist to some of his cocktails. I think we ordered Satrangi Kebab to go with the drinks. The dips and chutneys accompanying the Kebabs all had some twist to the traditional recipe. The serving staff was exceptional and they were very happy and present! We were served by Sajith, who was very sweet and he discreetly kept an eye on our table and never kept us waiting nor hurried with our food. For the main course we had a simple biryani and raita - again with very subtle flavors.Mr. Mathew, the owner, was busy running around and picking the load on a busy weekend. He still managed to drop by at our table for a chat and told us a little bit about his journey. It is impressive how he has treated the Indian cuisine with so much love and care. Mr. Mathew and Mr. Santhana are veterans in the field and their passion shows in Coromandel! I would not hesitate to say that Mr. Santhana is truly an accomplished artist.I would very much love the Coromandel team to consider opening a place in Austin :-DKid-friendliness: The food is very flavorful and not very hot or spicy.”

“When I posted content on IG concerning my recent first visit to Hachiroku, some prominent CT Foodies reached out to express their love for Hachiroku. Some even called it one of their favorite restaurants in CT. Wow! High praise! You know what's a baller move for a restaurant? No sign. The Beatles White Album. Hachiroku feels a bit like a Yale Secret Society. I was able to match the Orange Street address number on their Yelp page to the 261 on the outside of the restaurant, but Hachiroku's Instagram page also refers to a 966 State Street address. That would seem to put a second location near Jordan's Hot Dogs & Mac and across from Tavern on State. In any event, I visited the red brick building at 261 Orange Street. There are two parts to Hachiroku's name. One is Sake Bar. I am a novice Sske Drinker. Hachiroku, I suspect, is one of the better area places for Sake experts. Hachiroku has an extensive Sake menu that would rival the wine list at a French restaurant. They serve by the glass and bottle. they also offer premium sake flights. I ordered a glass of Matsu no Tsukasa 'Azol 50'. It definitely felt like one of the best sakes I've ever had. Notes of tropical fruits. But as I said, I'm not experienced with Sake. The second part of Hachiroku's name is "Shokudo", which means "diner" in Japanese. You should suspend your normal mental pictures of what diners look like, because Hachiroku has more of a Manhattan restaurant vibe and a menu full of elegant food. Tuna sashimi flights. Black Cod. Wagyu Beef Rice Curry. You know, typical diner fare. LOL I ordered the Signature Jako Anchovy Salad, with fried dried anchovy, arugula, mixed radishes, a poached egg. Bonita Flakes, Nori and a signature onion soy dressing. It was full of interesting shapes, and contrasting flavors and textures. A very cool and elegant salad. I also ordered the Mini Miso Haruso Salmon Don, which was grilled salmon belly pieces, salmon roe, pickles and garnishes atop white sticky rice. With a scallion dotted orange salmon roe skyline, it arrived as a beauty in a matte black bowl. My favorite part of the dish was the bursts of salty juices from the salmon roe. Service was friendly and efficient. I felt like my orders each came out more quickly than I expected. In a good way. I just scratched the surface of what Hochiroku is and does. With so many knowledgeable people expressing admiration for Hochiroku, you should think about visiting. Five Stars”

“I’ve had the pleasure of visiting R&B Ramen N Bao multiple times. The interior is meticulously maintained, creating a pleasant dining environment. Whether you’re grabbing takeout or dining in, the cleanliness adds to the overall positive experience.R&B Ramen N Bao offers an enticing menu that caters to both ramen enthusiasts and bao lovers. I’m partial to the Curry Ramen with Fried Chicken, a fusion of Japanese ramen and Indian-inspired curry is surprisingly harmonious. The fried chicken adds a highly satisfying crunch. My other go to dish is the R&B Signature Ramen. From the perfectly cooked noodles to the well-seasoned broth, it’s a symphony of taste.Let’s not forget about the dumplings. Some of my favorites are the Black Truffle & Pork Soup Dumplings. The broth inside is savory and aromatic. The delicate balance between the truffle essence and the tender pork elevates these dumplings to a must-try status. My second favorite are the Pork & Chives Dumplings. These dumplings are a simple yet classic choice. The combination of well-seasoned ground pork and fresh chives creates a harmonious flavor profile. Pair these dumplings with a steaming bowl of ramen, and you’ve got yourself a winning meal.R&B Ramen N Bao is a gem in Oxford. The food quality consistently impresses, and the atmosphere adds to the charm. If you’re a ramen aficionado or simply craving delicious Asian cuisine, give this spot a try.”

“Having visited Costa Rica multiple times over the past several years, I thought I had seen everything. But Kevin with Pura Vida Hikes and Adventures showed me another side of Costa Rica I didn’t know existed, and it was a wonderful experience! We travelled to two spectacular waterfalls, Nauyaca Waterfalls in Puntarenas and Monte Sky in Cartago. Just stunning! We also explored the charming and laid back mountain town of Orosi. There you can find the oldest church in Costa Rica, a super cool hanging pedestrian bridge, hot springs, as well as warm and inviting locals. A true hidden gem that I wouldn’t have otherwise visited. Thank you Kevin for the amazing experience!”
