“A very special place for a nice Sunday brunch. They have $8 cocktails from 12pm-4pm on Sundays and for happy hours. The food was a little wait but worth every minute. The staff was fun and attentive. I was also very pleased by the portion sizes.Some of the favorites at the table was the catfish--both of the fried and blackened variations. The potato salad and collard greens were popular sides and you dont want to skip the cornbread!Parking: You will have to find parking in the surrounding neighborhood. If someone has physical mobility challenges, plan to provide assistance with entering and exiting the restaurant.“

“Good food with very friendly staff. Breakfast was $45 for two people so it's a little higher than I expected. There is an Caribbean kitchen there as well, so varying taste have an option after 11 am. The hours need to be confirmed first.“

“I was visiting my daughter and her husband who live in Maryland and have gone to this well-run establishment many, many times. I am from Charlotte, NC and we too have a similar church cafeteria. The food was excellent, the service was top notch and the people behind the counter really look after you like a family member.“

“Is my daughter and I wanted so food. So we google the closest soul food restaurant around me now. This restaurant came up so we went ahead and drove over there to see what it was about. Lunch didn't start until eleven thirty so we waited. I will have to say that it was well worth waiting for. I ordered Fried chicken winnets platter. My two sides were macaroni and cheese and fried cabbage. The only thing that I was disappointed on was they gave me all Chicken drums. When ordering I ordered all that's but they forgot to put it in as all flats so the chef cooked all drums. They offered to make it over again but it's an extra charge of three dollars for all flats. I would not have minded paying the $3.But I didn't want to waste the food that they already cooked. The atmosphere is beautiful and friendly cashier, Joelle. I made another cook.Her name was Granny. Everyone in there was very friendly to us and my grandson. I even got a taste test on their greens.. Whoever cooked down put their foot in seoul into that. I definitely will say the best soul food around. I will be back to check everything else out.“

“Best vegan food I’ve ever eaten in my life. So glad I stopped in while visiting DC. Our favorites were the lasagna, the Mac and cheese, the kale salad, the mushroom salad, and the cinnamon bun. “Was in the mood for fish and found this one my Google search. Pleasant service, giving a mom and pop vibe. I ordered a whiting sandwich with a side of fries and cabbage. Food was amazing. Fish was made fresh to order, without the long wait. Ate half in the car and tried to save the rest for when I got home.“

“Customer service is nonexistent, I don’t know if the male that waited on me is neurodivergent, but I kept saying thank you while ordering and when he gave me my food. He just looked at me. I was the ONLY one in the establishment so a greeting, “hi, how are you” or a wave from the kitchen staff would go a long way. However, they just look mean with no emotions. But hey, at least the food is good.. ??‍♀️?“
