Yesterday evening (7/22/2023) I used the Whataburger app to order for delivery from Whataburger #55 on 23 Miracle Strip Pkwy in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The problem wasn’t ordering the food. The problem was the order itself. When it was delivered to my hotel, I was completely missing a burger. I had ordered two #2s with onion rings and sodas. Well, I received both soft drinks and both onion rings, but only 1 burger. I had paid $32 including tip for my food, which is now incomplete. When I reached out to the restaurant by phone at 632pm, I spoke to a female team member who claimed to be the manager on duty but never gave her name. I explained the situation and she informed me that all she could do was to tell the employees to be more careful in checking the orders. When I inquired about my missing burger, she said I needed to contact the driver who delivered the food, but at this point the driver had left and I had no contact information. I told the “manager on duty” that I still wanted my missing food and she in turn said I needed to go to the restaurant to pick it up myself. I told her that was not possible and that defeats the purpose of having food delivery. The restaurant messed up my order, I’m missing food that I paid for, and said it was my responsibility to go pick it up. When I requested a refund, she declined to do so. I requested to speak with a supervisor or manager on duty and she stated she was the manager. Not only was her response unhelpful, she began getting aggressive on the phone and rudely said there’s nothing she would do and she HUNG UP ON ME! So basically I paid $32 for an incomplete meal and when I requested my missing item or a refund, she refused to be of any assistance. I have been a loyal Whataburger customers for many many years and this is the first time this issue has happened and certainly the first time I have experienced such poor customer service, especially from a “manager on duty”. I will be filing a formal complaint with corporate regarding this event.
