Worst ever. When we first walked in to celebrate Mother’s Day we were asked if we had a reservation… But I was confused because the place was completely empty! We were there about 8:30 AM. When we sat down, I was very shocked when sat at a high top table with barstools with no backs and no place to put your purse. In my opinion the table should have a hook to hook your stuff on. Your only option is to place your stuff on the ground. Our server came over and gave us all water And then didn’t come back for about 10 minutes by then we were ready to place our order… Our waiter did not seem very knowledgeable of the menu and seem like he was in a rush to get away from the table to complete his other task. Our food was the worst! My sister got the French toast, which was completely black and burnt on one side… My daughter got the kids plate which comes with scrambled eggs, bacon, and pancakes, but her bacon was a complete burnt mess! I got the chicken and waffles along with my son… the chicken was thin, tasted like grease, had no flavor or seasoning and was badly breaded besides the waffles are not the waffles that are shown in the photo they almost look like frozen airy empty eggos. My husband got the steak and eggs… The steak was so tough to chew and so fatty! Even if we wanted to send our food back or had concerns, we wouldn’t have been able to tell anyone because the whole entire time we were there our waiter never came back to the table… except to deliver the bill! One young lady came to the table. She seemed like she was in charge, I asked her to grab my son a side of barbecue sauce and I was completely shocked when he started crying because it was so spicy! I am shocked that they would serve this to children! I was so upset I wanted to get out of there. We didn’t even send anything back. We just hurry so we could leave… French toast, kids plate two chicken and waffles and a steak and eggs was $141! They also add a 3% credit card fee and a 20% fee because we had six people… not to mention, they charge me for the side of spicy barbecue sauce that had my son in tears! I just read another review that someone else left from the same day I was there (today) and I can’t even believe I seen a reply from the owner leaving a half a sentence as a reply… The music was too loud. The service was horrible so was the food! This place has the cutest decor and could be so much better if they got the right cook in the kitchen… and better staff!

This place just popped up on Military and Elmhurst, so we decided to try it. My father went to the one on Forest Hill and said the service was bad and the food was cold, but my friend said the food was good at this one so I figured why not, let's try it. The place was fancier than you'd expect for a diner. The menu looked really good. Not too much to get overwhelmed with, but a good selection of flavor that it was enticing enough. While we were seated right away, service was slow for not being that busy. We had to remind our waitress about our water, and hope that she wasn't bringing the $6 bottle water that was on the menu. I did order a shot of espresso for $3, and it must have been sitting out because it was warm but not hot when I got it. My friend had the Ruben, which was delicious, but $12.25 only got you the sandwich and nothing else. I had the Short Rib Stack for $18.25, it was very delicious. I would have liked 2 poached eggs instead of 1, just because of the amount of home fries they give you. So if you get that dish, see if you can ask for a second egg. However their pineapple upside pancakes, while they tasted good for pancakes, pineapple upsidedown they were not. For $11.25 you get 3 small thin pancakes with pineapple topping down the center. Not even enough to get a taste with each bite. Going off the menu description, I feel bamboozled. These were not caramelized chunks of pineapple and butter, and didn't bring anything to mind about pineapple upsidedown cake. And even though the pancakes and service missed the mark, I wasn't going to write them off until the check came and there was a 3% operational surcharge. When I asked what this charge was for, our waitress said it was for if you paid with a card, and if you paid cash they took it off. Keep in mind she gave us this without asking how we were paying, or advertising there was a surcharge. They can keep their hidden fees, I'll stick to my local small diners and not this chain of locations.
