“If I could review this place 10 stars, I would. I'm from Miami so ive been to nearly every brunch place. This place blows every single one out if the water. From the atmosphere, friendly staff, and food quality, I will make the trip up here just for breakfast. I had the cuban eggs Benny and it was cooked PERFECTLY. I also had a watermelon Mint mimosa that made me never want a regular mimosa again. Best thing about this place is that breakfast AND mimosas is served all day .“

“I came across this restaurant by chance. I was seconds away from walking into an Asian fusion restaurant. I’m glad I did! The majority of the plates we ordered and the Riesling wine bottle were on point. There was one exception, the Heritage Pork Chop. For some reason the pork chop did not come out as tender as explained to me by Brian, our uber-professional and extremely knowledgeable server. It didn’t lack flavor per se, but it wasn’t as tender as, for instance, the one I recently had at Black Prong in Bronson, Florida. However, enough with the negativity, and let’s talk about the positives: Baked Brie. It was point blank delicious, with the creamy saltiness of the cheese balanced out by the sweet currant. In the menu it’s stated that it comes with crostinis, but mine came out with pita bread and sesame crackers. Still, it was delicious. The Sriracha Marinated Flat Iron Steak had a very strong beefy flavor with the nice tenderness you would expect from a much more expensive beef cut. Despite not being crazy about the mashed avocado-potatoes, it was still a delicious and hearty meal.Brian, again…our server, was beyond knowledgeable and professional. He explained every detail about the plates and wines as well. I or rather we, wish we could have a server like that anywhere we went to eat. Aside from being very knowledgeable, he was also very humble and attentive to details.“

“The food at Paisley Vegan Kitchen is absolutely out of this world! I’m not a vegan myself, but I would eat here every day for the rest of my life if I could! Portion sizes were fantastic and the food was so tasty!! I couldn’t finish my whole sandwich, so took it to go and it was equally fantastic on the reheat (which rarely happens at other places). Highly recommend the buffalo crispy chicken sandwich and French dip. Also the cupcakes are to die for!! Don’t miss out whether you’re vegan or not. This restaurant is amazing!“

“Are you KIDDING ME WITH THIS PLACE?!?!?!?! First of all, I'm pissed that ai've been living a mere 45 minutes from this place for the last 4 months and have not been here yet- but that's on me and I'm sure I'll make up for lost time, like immediately. All right, let's talk outside to inside- it's on the side of a two lane road and it kinda comes up quick so you gotta be ready to duck in to the parking lot real quick or you'll be making a much needed illegal u turn. There are about 10 spaces and a cute little outdoor patio with 4 round 4top tables, license plates galore for decorating and a few nice potted tropical plants. This place screams dive roadside stand that you will remember and crave, literally for the rest of your life. The menu, IS HUGE, I'm not counting but easily 100 ways to stuff your face and SO MANY VEGAN OPTIONS!!! They have the Impossible hot dog, the Beyond burger and even a vegan chicken nugget option!!! So, I walk in, there's a super nice woman on register greeting everyone and I can immediately tell it's her place, she just has the mom vibes- and I'm here for it. Oh, and did I mention they have BEER?!!! So, obviously, I have a crisp cold can of PBR!! I ordered a vegan Impossible Chicago Dog- yikes this thing is impeccably perfect. I'm writing this review as I eat it...Soft poppy seed bun, fresh sliced ripe tomato, chopped white onion, spicy sport peppers, relish and celery salt! The impossible dog is sliced and grilled and DANG, ya know what.... it was so good I'm going to patiently get up and wait in this huge assss line that just formed out the door to order something else!! Hold please.... OK I'm back- with the "KA-PAOW" which is basically a vegan Philly cheesesteak. It's got my favorite brand of plant based vegan beef "meat", my favorite brand of melted vegan cheddar, grilled onions & mushrooms on a grilled hoagie roll. Oh dear god. It's just, wow. It's huge, it's messy, it's greasy.... I'm druling while I'm eating it. I don't know where this bread comes from but I'm assuming they just drop it from a helicopter that flies down from Philadelphia every fkn morning in a gps guided wicker basket. It's crusty, chewy, hefty and it has the little semolina dust on the bottom. The Ambiance is perfectly fitting to the fare, the staff is incredibly fast and kind, the food is out of this world great. While I sat here (for an hour and a half) I saw probably a hundred people come and go, some enjoyed their dog slowly like me, some inhaled them, some just ordered fries but everyone and I mean EVERYONE was treated with kindness and they were all so happy with their food. After being that busy, all morning, and even though I sat quietly in the corner alone and kept to myself I was thanked, by name, when I left. This place does it absolutely right.“

“Jao Thai Kitchen 914 W. New Haven Ave. Melbourne, FL 32901 4.5 Stars (I went again after this review and it was even better) Arg! I stared in disbelief at yet another Thai/Sushi combo place staring up at me from my random name generator. You have got to be kidding me. How many of these hybrid clip joints have sprung up as of late? They are beginning to look a lot like Starbucks...you know, one on every corner. This time, I was headed to Jao Thai Kitchen, located in a minuscule strip mall just east of Dairy Road in Melbourne, FL. My wait staff for this culinary excursion was none other than One. While I have it on good word that One is the loneliest number, I have to admit I appreciate the new identity of using a form or letter of their actual name instead of a random generic “American” name such as Mary or Sue. This is now the 5th Thai restaurant where I encountered this new nomenclature, which is a refreshing and positive change. I asked One for an order of their Jalapeno roll, some Chicken Panang Curry and a Tuna Hand Roll. One returned at a moment’s notice with our order and after snapping a few pics, I grabbed the Jalapeno Roll and commenced tasting. This exciting concoction consisted of tuna, salmon, hamachi, asparagus, cucumber, smelt roe, jalapeno and spicy sauce topped with avocado. Like all stuffed rolls, this one can trace its roots back to the California roll sans the obligatory fake crab center. I prefer this type of roll as I really don’t like paying for fish masquerading as crab. There was just enough kick with the jalapeno and spicy sauce to entertain one’s taste buds. Next up on the Big Boy’s palate was the Chicken Panang Curry. Panang Curry has to be one of my favorite of the Thai curries. It is mild, complex and sweet with a hint of heat. This was perfectly cooked, including the tender pieces of all-white meat chicken and Thai basil, carrots and bell peppers that were fresh and obviously sliced in the back. This brings me to my Sushi join barometer of the Tuna Hand Roll. I found this one to be better than most, but it's still not quite what you would find in a traditional Sushi Ya (shop/restaurant). The tuna was a lovely shade of red and the rice was steamed to perfection. However, I found it to be severely lacking in the traditional additions one usually finds in a Tuna Hand Roll, such as a slice or two of Gobo (Japanese Burdock root/carrot or, more often, plain carrot), watercress sprouts and cucumber. This was fine, just on the simple side. It would have been rather bland on the palate if not for soy sauce. The Big Boy says, “If traditional Japanese Sushi is not your thing, for whatever reason, or you are just hankering for a hunk of raw fish and are nearby, Jao Thai Kitchen can adequately fill that sushi void.”“

“The Lemon Pepoer Chicken was really good. The chicken satay was very flavorful. The sweet and sour chicken was not good in my opinion. That being said, I don't think that means the chicken is not good. I think it is a healthier and cleaner version than what I am use to. I am accustomed to the sugary sweet chicken I normally get from fast food restaurants. I would order from Chez Quan again. It's a quality restaurant.“

“Cedars Cafe- Lake Washington-5-Stars Quickly becoming a local favorite, this gem of an eatery is beginning to make a huge splash in the local culinary scene. As with most fine dining joints (Cedar's is more casual, but the food is not), Chef Toni changes her menu with the seasonal availability of the freshest ingredients. As we have cruised on past summer and are now in the fall months, I thought it would be a good time to revisit a new favorite and see what Chef Toni did with her traditional, yet eclectically mixed menu. After being seated, I hungrily listened to my server rattle off the seasonal specials and began to drool. This should be extraordinary based on what my ears were telling my palate. After a few moments taking it all in, I asked for an order of Artichoke Shawarma, Fennel Apple salad, White Yam fries, Beat salad with goat cheese, Haloumi cheese, some kafta and an order of chicken thighs in a shiitake mushroom sauce. Relaxing in the pleasant atmosphere it seemed only a moment had passed when my server was soon approaching with my food. Setting it down before me, I drank in the beautiful artistry and scintillating aromas spiraling towards the ceiling as I reached for my tools of gastronomical destruction and got to work. After one bite of the Artichoke Shawarma I knew that once again, Chef Toni has hit a home run. After using the outside of the Artichoke for another dish and wanting to be a zero-waste kitchen, Chef Toni took the artichoke hearts, through some shawarma spice on them, and plopped them on some freshly made hummus. The tastes were extraordinary. The Fennel Apple salad is a misnomer as it should read Fennel and Shaved Apple salad. With thin shavings of apple over fresh greens, fennel, fresh mint and a "secret" ingredient of orange blossom water, this salad was out of this world. Used to cleanse the palate between courses, it more than served its purpose In pursuing the freshest ingredients, Chef Toni often comes upon once in a blue moon opportunities from her local sources. Case in point, white yams. Obtaining just a few of them from a local farmer, Chef Toni worked her magic and turned them into fresh white yam fries served with an herbed, homemade tahini sauce that was a sheer delight on the palate. They were like no fries I have ever tasted before. Moving on to the most pedestrian dish, if one can call a goat cheese feta and fresh beet salad with homemade pomegranate vinaigrette drizzled over it, pedestrian. With farm-fresh beets and real honest to Athens goat cheese feta this was amazing as well. It seems that Chef Toni never misses. She must, she is only human, but I have yet to catch her off her game. After a few bites of the salad, just to make sure I had the taste down, I turned my attention to the grilled Haloumi cheese. While this is a traditional middle eastern dish, Chef Toni took traditional and turned it on its ear. With some almond dukkah seasoning and fresh local honey drizzled over it, this cheese was a far cry from the stuff I grew up on. Talk about scrumptious! While the Houlomi cheese was a far cry from my childhood, Chef Toni's take on kafta brought me right back to it. Grilled in the oven, topped with fresh hummus with tomato and onions and topping a freshly made pita, this went straight to the little boy inside the Big Boy and made him very happy. With a delicate blend of herbs and spices, this dish alone was worth the visit. Sadly, this brings me to the last item up for review, the Chicken thighs in a shiitake mushroom sauce. What can I say about this without sounding like the proverbial broken record? Using locally farmed mushrooms and chicken, this dish taste farm-fresh and danced across my taste buds. The sauce was delicate, subtle and full of flavor while the chicken was tender, juicy and had to have been alive just a few hours earlier, it tasted that fresh. This place is 5 stars all day, every day. The Big Boy says, "Just go already!"“

“Thai Koji, 2330 N. Wickham Rd., Melbourne, FL 32935 4.5 Stars Holy Rainbow Roll, Batman! Yet another Thai/Japanese combo hash house was staring at me from my random name generator. I have to fix this; all I'm getting lately are these places and Tex-Mex joints. This time, I was heading OTB to sample the fares offered at Thai Koji off of N. Wickham Rd. in Melbourne, FL. After being seated, handed a menu and assured my server would be right with me, I took a few pictures of the place and got ready to snap some of the menu. When I opened it, much to my surprise, I had committed a deterrational act. In so doing, I uncovered a leader in the Thai/Japanese cohort. As previously mentioned, I have a relative currently residing in Thailand. They have assured me on numerous occasions that two things you never find in a restaurant there are chopsticks and sushi. This place knew that and had two DISTINCT menus: Japanese and Thai, leaving little room for discussion. Am was our waiter for the meal and other waitstaff should take lessons from this man. He was exceptional in every category in which a server can be ranked. Well done, Good Sir! I asked Am for some Chicken Satay, Pad Kra Pow Stir Fry w/minced pork and a Lobster Roll. Sitting back and taking in the chill vibe, I wasn't too long before Am was seen returning with my feastage. I quickly dug in as the fusillade of fabulous fragrances ambushed my olfactory nerves. The Chicken Satay consisted of huge pieces of breast meat skewered, grilled to perfection and paired with a delicious Thai peanut sauce. The cucumber salad served on the side was fresh, crisp and delightful, consisting of freshly sliced and chopped cucumber, tomatoes and red pepper in a delicious dressing of Thai flavors. Next up was the Pork Pad Kra Pow Stir fry and this was also wonderful. The minced pork was tender, the rice was perfectly steamed and the side spring roll was a treat to my taste buds. The complex flavors in the Pad Kra Pow were executed flawlessly and stimulated my palate as only correctly prepared Thai food can. Moving on to the final item to be tasted on this foray into the sea of Thai/Japanese combo places, I direct your attention to the Lobster Roll. First, please take a peek at the picture of said roll. It is certainly a work of art to the discerning eye. With krab inside, fresh tuna on top and a wonderful spicy sauce drizzled to top it off, it looked far better than it tasted. I am fairly sure I got the last Lobster tail in the freezer as it came off slightly freezer-burned. If it weren't for that tiny, albeit important detail, this would have been a 5-star meal. The Big Boy says, "In a pool with a myriad of choices for Thai/Japanese places to dine, make a point to visit this one."“

“I have been a regular customer at this Fujiyama for years the service was always good except for when I had this one particular waitress. When this waitress waited on me the long wait and cold food was a constant issue I never said anything about it until today when I had been waiting 30 minutes for my food and she waited on her male friend and proceeded to eat her lunch and I still had no food on my table I went to the front area and asked if I could pay for my iced tea and said that I was leaving. This waitress appeared and said what's the problem? I said the service was ridiculous I said I've waited 30 minutes while you served someone else and proceeded to start eating your lunch. This waitress said then said to me leave and don't come back! I asked to see the manager who appeared in nonchalantly said what's the problem I told him what she had said he said she has issues sometimes and if I come back in again he'll try to get me a different waitress. I will never return to this restaurant exclamation point I told him that I am in a management customer service position and would never speak to a customer that way. He just Shrugged his shoulders. By the way the waitress's name is Sadie“
