Little Alley Steak 3500 Lenox Rd NE #100, Atlanta Steak House • $$$$

“A true high end steakhouse experience. Our server, Adrian was so knowledgeable and coached us through the menu and all the treatments available for our steaks. I had a dry-aged, bone-in NY Strip with the creme' spinach and (hidden menu item) lobster mac&cheese. They brought it out from the kitchen in a hot pan, basting it the con fit butter with a charger full of burbon shallot sauce for dipping. My wife had a wet aged ribeye and shared my sides with me, ...because they were big enough to! My daughter had the seafood papadelle, the muscles were done but the shrimp undercooked. When informed, Adrian took care of her and replaced her meal. She also got the twice stuffed potatoes which turned out to be 2 giants in a cast-iron tray.My son got a steak with the truffle fries and garlic spinach. Some of our party tried the samon and the duck egg rolls and honestly the table was quite for a while ....a testament to the flavor of the food. Great food, better service! ?”

La Grotta Ristorante 2637 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta Italian • $$$$

“As always, La Grotta remains one of the best Italian restaurants around. The atmosphere is classy, so please dress accordingly, as people go for both the atmosphere as well as the food/vino. The super tuscan vino is great if you are looking for a new wine to try, you can order a glass or the bottle (I recommend bottle if there are 3+ in your party it ends up being cheaper than individual glasses). The sacchetti as well as the pappardelle are both wonderful dishes. The gnocchi is cooked perfectly if you are a gnocchi fan.”

Talat Market 112 Ormond St SE, Atlanta Thai • $$$

“Fantastic food. While it may appear a limited menu, there are a number of items off menu including the street food items and daily items. That said, there's not one thing on the menu that will disappoint. The nuts are delicious and the addition of chili and fried kaffir lime leaves combine for a sublime flavor. Spiced pork and pineapple kebabs had a huge depth of flavor and spicy warmth. The crispy rice salad is probably one of the best salads I've ever eaten. The fish was amazing, cooked to perfection in a warm thick spicy sauce that was the perfect complement and more than sufficient for two. Cocktails were both strong and great. Prices excluding drinks were just over $50 each, so great value.”

Marcel 1170 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta Steak House • $$$$

“Enjoyed a meal with family for my daughter's 30th birthday this past Saturday. The food and service were absolutely outstanding! For a special occasion, Marcel is a go-to without question, but a bit too pricey for day-to-day dining in Atlanta in my opinion. Party of 6 was just under 4 figures and I brought my own wine for the occasion, corkage of which was provided gratis, thank you, much appreciated. With that said, for a hallmark experience, Marcel is exceptional, and our evening lived up to every bit of that expectation. Nick, our primary server, was superbly knowledgeable on food, drink and wine options and super helpful in guiding each of us to a wonderful, personalized culinary experience. Melinda was excellent, too, always attentive and available, adding significantly to the experience. The rest of the serving team did a fantastic job, as well. Absolutely brilliant service from beginning with cocktails in the bar to dessert at the table. All in all, one of my favorite places to dine in Atlanta, and certainly if you are a steak fan. I would highly recommend Marcel, with the caveat that you prepare yourself for a wonderful evening, while not being surprised when the check arrives.”

Miller Union 999 Brady Ave NW, Atlanta American • $$$

“Located in Home Park we happy to see that the location was not difficult to get to. There was a parking garage around the corner however there is complimentary valet service which is always a relief. The dining room has several rooms with different views my husband and I were sat in a room full of windows which was nice. My husband and I were in for our anniversary and decided to try one of the new Michelin recommended restaurants. We came for a 5:30 reservation and left close to 8:15. The service was decent however there was several times that we said " ummmmm where is our waitress?" But I think the staff does a good job of working as a team. We started off with some drinks I got the Miller Time ( a nice light and refreshing gin cocktail) and my husband got a beer. We were very impressed with the beer menu they had lots of our favorites and was certainly a nice treat for him. For starters we had the hush puppies ( cooked well, with a chutney on top and a nice creamy sauce underneath), The Farm Baked Egg( a staple to the restaurant, deliciously creamy with outstanding sourdough toast) and, the Local Lettuce Salad( I really loved how the ingredients were the star of the show with this salad. It was by no means underdressed but it was well balanced enough that you could enjoy all of the in season veggies), for dinner I had the Pork schnitzel( I was a little disappointed by this one the sauce was unlike any I have ever had and was heavy on the citrus while the collards were difficult to eat because they were so tough, the pork itself was pretty standard although, I had always thought schnitzel was supposed to be pretty thin this was not. The dish was highly recommended but I think it just wasn't for me) my husband had the duck leg ( which was cooked very nicely and he was very satisfied with the overall dish) for dessert we were gifted some glasses of Prosecco ( very sweet to include for our anniversary) to go with the vanilla cake( very moist and was paired with island flavors), the lemon bar( pleasantly bright with a raspberry sorbet and grapefruit mouse. I loved everything about this dish there was so many bright puckery flavors but it was not overwhelming.) and, the Dessert cheese course( lovely selection on cheeses the only thing that was off to me is the strawberries were not sweet at all.... It was a little sad). I also ordered a cappuccino which unfortunately had no foam on top paired with their hazelnut liquor which was very good. All in all it was a good experience.”

Atlas 88 W Paces Ferry Rd NW, Atlanta American • $$$$

“The dishes are inventive and delicious, but there were only a couple that were "wow-worthy." There were some plating issues that left me thinking if they had someone working the pass to inspect dishes before they left the kitchen. For example, for one dish I had an errant medallion of fish sitting on the rim of my plate, and during another course one of my dining partner's dishes had a "splatter" sauce as the base of the dish while the rest of us had an elegant "swoosh" of sauce. The fish and scallops were overcooked, too. That being said it was still a great experience. We did the tasting menu and I had a classic wine pairing. The pairing was hit and miss but mostly hits; there were some unexpected wines that I can only describe as a bit funky but they paired well with the dish served alongside them. The sommelier was helpful and great at fielding any questions I had. I loved all the details about each selection. The staff are kind, efficient, and helpful at every opportunity. The only feedback I have is better coordination for service is needed but this is just a minor point. We're very happy to have experienced Atlas and would recommend it to fellow food lovers as a solid option for those in the Buckhead area looking for fine dining.”

“Amazing place for some new Orleans style food. The service was friendly and entertaining. The food, although a bit on the expensive side, was very good. The portion size was small compared to the pricing. However, the quality and taste was outstanding. They automatically add a 20%tip to the bill, this is mentioned on the menu so it was not a surprise. The staff worked in such harmony that the differently earned the 20% and more.If you are looking for a place with friendly staff and great food this is the place.”

Plates are perfectly sized l for two and small portions so you can share and try many different plates. I've heard their menu changes daily so you get variety and their exquisite flavor profiles of dishes, drinks and desserts can truly be enjoyed. “I recently had the pleasure of dining at True Food Kitchen in Buckhead, and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. I ordered the spaghetti squash bowl with blackened shrimp, and it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The dish was beautifully presented, with the bright orange spaghetti squash as the base, topped with perfectly cooked blackened shrimp, avocado, and a variety of fresh vegetables like kale, mushrooms, and snap peas. The flavors and textures all worked together harmoniously, with the sweetness of the squash balancing out the spicy kick of the blackened shrimp. The portions were generous, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the preparation of the dish. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of heat, and the vegetables were cooked to perfection, retaining their natural flavors and textures. The ambiance of the restaurant was also quite pleasant, with a modern and clean design that was both comfortable and inviting. The staff were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. Overall, I would highly recommend True Food Kitchen to anyone looking for a delicious, healthy meal in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. “Came to eat here tonight with my parents, they celebrated their birthdays earlier this month and we decided to step it up a notch and go downtown for a combined meal this year.Valet parking only here, they work off gratuities so remember that as they run to get your car as it was pouring outside tonight! We were immediately seated at our scheduled time, in a table I had sat in before with coworkers in the corner. The manager heard me speaking about it and how I enjoyed that with my colleagues he offered to put me there once again. Super cool, great view of the dining area and very quiet in the corner. I think my parents really enjoyed that. Antrane was our server and she crushed it tonight. Came over and took our drink order then proceeded to absolutely kill it for me tonight; made me look like a good son!For apps- we went with the Wagyu bbq short ribs, and the Lobster fritters and split a wedge salad between the three of us, they also chopped and split the portions for us. I'm going to tell you that the short ribs were crazy good, melt in your mouth barely a need to chew. The lobster fritters were perfectly cooked, beautiful texture and flavor. Wedge salad was so flavorful with the homemade dressing and pappadew peppers- what a new flavor on a traditional salad. My dad and I split the steak for two (porterhouse), cooked to perfection. My mother got an 8 oz strip and she normally gets it cooked well done. She was mowing the steak down and we had two sides of sauce to try- Bernaise and peppercorn. Both were super flavorful and enhanced the steak (truth be told the steak is the star and didn't need sauce)As for sides: creamed spinach and scalloped sweet potatoes (full portions) charred jalapeños creamed corn and roasted mushrooms (half portions). We ate more than we normally would've, but it seemed too good to stop. They were super generous to give both my parents a complimentary dessert since they have back to back bdays in March. My dad took one of each sorbet flavors (mango, pear, strawberry) and my mother did the vanilla bread pudding with cheesecake ice cream. My goodness! After all that food and a bottle of wine, still cleaned the plates! It's unheard of in our family. On the walk out, I noticed Chef Rathbun and he spoke with us for a few minutes. Told him I'd been familiar with his work and watched him and his brother battle on Iron Chef. We have been to many steakhouses in Chicago but this one really is next level. My thanks to the kitchen and Antrane, and especially Chef Rathbun for a memorable evening. It's super cool to get to meet chefs who are so talented and the staff that make them look bigger than rock stars for special moments like this.”

“Me and my family came in for the first time today and we had an amazing experience from beginning to end. The restaurant is red and black , which is my favorite colors so we felt right at home lol. The cashier , I forget her name, but she was so patient, sweet and friendly when taking and explaining our order... the food came after about a 15 minute wait, and when I tell you we enjoyed every bite. I got the 3 whole wings and waffles with a side of baked beans and potatoe salad(thank you Marvelle W.) I would break everything down but just know this place is a must try. Marvelle was amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed. And was very sweet , nice, accommodating, and personable (Hey Neighbor!) LOL. Now that's customer service! Thank you Hattie Bs. The Optimist 914 Howell Mill Rd, Atlanta Seafood • $$$

“Let me start by saying the service and hosting staff are incredible. So kind and attentive and welcoming. And brought us a sweet delicious dessert for our anniversary celebration. This is my third time at the Optimist but likely the least impressed I've been with the food. I had the fish chowder - the flavor was amazing but it wasn't very hot when it arrived at the table. Additionally I had the salad with the blue cheese and it was very vinegar-y. My husband had the Mahi Mahi and the Cauliflower- the Cauliflower was great. I also asked for a mocktail and was told the bar would make something up and they asked what I liked. I mentioned a lot of things- ginger being one of them- and the drink I got back was the most ginger I'd ever tasted. I told the server and he agreed to have them adjust it. He brought it back and it was better but still very ginger-y. Later they brought a totally different mocktail over without my asking that was better. I feel like any restaurant these days should have at least 3 signature mocktails so we know what we're getting. I had a mocktail here before and it was great, so it may depend on who's on staff.”

“Through no fault of their own, this place got flooded with 50+ extra guests and they held it in stride. There were hiccups that were to be expected with that kind of unexpected business, but the food and the service were solid throughout. If you're just a party of 2-8 or even more , I highly recommend. Get the salmon tacos. Or anything on the menu. Great service, great food, great place. Buckhead is flooded with people and food, but this place is really cool. You wouldn't expect a really good Mexican chill spot in the mix of all this "upscale food" but you're definitely getting "upscale food" at a reasonable price point at this place.”

“The service was great and food was definitely solid here. The burrata appetizer and banana foster bread pudding were 100% our highlights and were absolutely delicious. I had the carbonara as my entree, which was solid but could've used a bit more sauce and more cheese (even though the egg yolk on top was lovely). You could tell the pasta itself was homemade, which I appreciated. The lavender limonata was also a refreshing drink on the side. We sat in the outdoor patio, which had generally a nice vibe but was immediately next to a stoplight which led to some occasional honking. Not sure there's much the restaurant can do about this, but if this will bother you sitting inside may be a better choice. Parking is relatively easy, as there are multiple side streets with available street parking.”

Our server, Mike, was helpful with the menu and gave very good and honest suggestions. We started with cocktails. The Soul Vaccination was overly sweet, but the Monk’s Repose was excellent. For food, we started with the Artichoke appetizer which was delicious and the very nice bread service. The mains were Roast Chicken and Snapper, both top rate. For dessert we had the Ice Cream Sando, a great finish to the meal. Even though the meal was delicious, I felt that the pricing was about 20% higher than I would expect. “Tabby was in town and in usual Tabby flow she was exploring the atlasobscura website and came across The Consulate. As such, we decided to go. We had reservations for 06:15 on a Friday. Arriving about 20 minutes early as traffic happened to be light, we were able to be seated early without any issues. Upon entering the restaurant the hallway decor captures your attention as you focus on the selected hues of blue and artwork placement. Upon being seated we were immediately greeted by Cindy. Cindy arrived all smiles coupled with a huge personality and warm welcome. As this was our first time she took a moment to explain to us the menu selections, geographical inspiration, as well as answer the few questions we had about select items. Cindy’s education of the menu and experience with the foods added to the food deciding experience. Major shout out to Cindy. The ambiance of the restaurant is high energy, captivating and explorative. As you look around the restaurant it puts you in the mindset of being inside one of the classic true to theme castles in an Indiana Jones or Tomb Raider movie. LoL! At any moment Laura Croft could walk in and grab one of the items on display and head out for her next mission. LoL! I decided on the String Beans with a side of Mexican Rice and I was more than satisfied with the flavor profile of my meal. The string beans were flavor stacked with the slight sweet from the sauce and the spice from the peppers. The texture was spot on for a true sautéed experience as well as the portion was perfect… The Mexican rice paired well with the string beans as it provided a texture variation as well as it was seasoned well but not overpowering in comparison to the string beans. This was truly a 10/10 experience. The service, the environment, and the food were all superb. Whether for a personal 2 person dinner or after work friend vibe, The Consulate is truly a must try for any occasion.”

Spiced pork and pineapple kebabs had a huge depth of flavor and spicy warmth. The crispy rice salad is probably one of the best salads I've ever eaten. “Brunch on the Beltline was the order of the day. We’d heard of Bar Vegan, but none of us had tried it, so we decided to check it out! The restaurant has a great vibe and a welcoming atmosphere. The menu has a good variety of choices and the waitress was very helpful in making our selections. She informed us that there are no “take backs or exchanges on drinks or dishes” and that the “beef” dishes are Impossible Beef, as opposed to Beyond Meat. Which apparently makes a HUGE difference in the taste. From what I hear it’s an acquired taste and…yeah, I’ll pass! Especially since you’re stuck with it whether you like it or not. I appreciated the waitress being forthcoming about the menu, as she wanted our experience to be enjoyable. It was! The brussel sprouts were delicious and you can’t really go wrong with pesto pasta. The “wings” and tacos were good as well. The strawberry lemonade came in a bottle, which was a bit off putting initially. However, it was easily poured into a glass and enjoyed on the rocks! One thing several patrons disliked is the restaurant is paperless, so the checks were not printed out and given to you for review and keepsake. I’m not sure if printing was an option, but it definitely wasn’t offered, so we assumed it was not. Overall, we had a good dining experience and recommend you give it a try. It’s definitely a different experience for your average carnivore. But it’s a good experience if you’re open to trying new things (and we were)! The restaurant is nestled inside the Ponce City Market which offers an array of shopping and culinary options as well, which makes for a very enjoyable day!”

C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar 3330 Cobb Pkwy SE Suite 118, Atlanta Seafood • $$$

“Despite Atlanta's bad reputation among customer service in the popular restaurant industry, C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar - Vinings aka Clark & Schwenk's over this past weekend was superb and the food was fantastic. Omar was our server and even with some minor hiccups, the overall experience was worth it. When you first walk in, they have an array of tables, booths, and a full bar - all showing the Braves game. The lighting is relatively dark where you need to read your menu near the candle or use the light on your phone. Omar explained the full menu and highlighted the features. You are given a bread basket with delicious butter. We didn't get a chance to try out the raw oysters because we weren't hungry enough... LOL--the states that they had to offer looked really good especially the Blue Point oysters. We did order the following: · Espresso Martini - This was not in my Top 5 and it was actually average. Not sure what went wrong but perhaps it was the actual espresso. · C&S Smash - Orange, lemon, basil, club soda, choice of 1792 bourbon, or empress gin. We went with gin. The taste was described as "interesting" but was refreshing. Perhaps mint would have been a better herb. · RC's Chargrilled Oysters [Didn't capture a pic] - Of course not comparable with New Orleans! They were a tad overcooked and not the right amount of parmesan to butter ratio. The flavors were good though. · Jump Lump Crab Cake (1) - All crab, no filler. It tasted fresh, fluffy lump crab, and the grain mustard butter complemented it well. · Sea Bass - Options were grilled, broiled, or blackened. Sauce options were Olive Oil & Caper, Soy & Chili-Garlic, or Lemon-Herb Beurre Blanc. FYI, choose broiled if you want it pan-seared. We chose broiled with Lemon-Herb Beurre Blanc with Creamed Spinach and Whipped Potatoes. They were out of the first choice of Broccolini. The Sea Bass was cooked to perfection with the right amount of flakiness and lightly seared; You can taste the freshness from the sea. The sauce was served on the side and really was not needed but it did elevate the fish when combined with the whipped potatoes. The serving size was plentiful! They mistakenly added Brussels Sprouts but quickly brought out the replacement - Creamed spinach was seasoned well and combined with creamy parmesan. · U-10 Scallops - We chose broiled with the same Beurre-Blanc sauce, Lobster Risotto and Crispy Brussels Sprouts. The scallops were all succulent and seared perfectly. I loved, loved the Crispy Brussels Sprouts which were seasoned well- slightly savory and sweet. The Lobster Risotto had the right amount of lobster bits and it was velvety--could have been cooked a little longer and less white wine. Overall, the dish was still fantastic. Of course, had to end it with dessert... · Sea Salt Caramel [no pic] and Espresso Gelato - No words. It was smooth and derishush. · Crème Brulee - One of my fave desserts. The portion size was significant, had fresh strawberries and blueberries. The right consistency--not too runny and right amount of firmness. The caramelized sugar wasn't too crunchy either. One of my Top 5 crème brulees. · Key Lime Pie [no pic] - The pie to crust ratio wasn't right--too must crust but the crust also had some sort of nut in it..maybe a walnut? So FYI if you're allergic or do not like nuts. The flavors were good and maybe needed an extra tad of key lime element to it. Overall, it was a good dessert. I still would highly recommend C&S and would love to re-visit if we are ever in town again.”

The atmosphere depends on the folks serving your food. Everything else was great sadly. Would love to give this place 5 Stars but service matters. I watched my $16 drink sit at the bar with the ice melting. I had to ask our server, "any recommendations?" "Are you always this silent?"”

“By far E-Ramen is the best for ramen in atl! A friend of mine had put me onto them when they had first opened but it wasn't until 2021 when I had started going there. I've been there during the early afternoon when they first open and during the evening. The quality is consistent and the service is great! I've been there by myself, with my husband, with our son, and with friends on separate occasions. I highly recommend the lobster ramen or the Mama's chicken soup (chef's kiss). Also the fried squid is the bomb.com of appetizers.”

“What a fantastic and unique experience of a meal! My wife and I celebrated our 16 year anniversary at Gunshow not knowing what to expect and the whole dining experience blew us away. It's a dim sum style meal where every plate brought out is a culinary masterpiece and different than the other. The cocktails are fantastic as well. Plates are perfectly sized l for two and small portions so you can share and try many different plates. I've heard their menu changes daily so you get variety and their exquisite flavor profiles of dishes, drinks and desserts can truly be enjoyed. I recommend coming to Gunshow for a special occasion and look to spend roughly $150+ per person.5 solid Stars easily and two thumbs way up for Gunshow.”

I loved the table already having some bread with olives and an olive tapenade spread. The service was good and staff was friendly. The food was delicious! Authentic French onion soup. Linguine with shrimp and a light tomato-based sauce. And some yummy profiterole dessert that was shareable. I was very impressed and will return. Seemed like there were a lot of regulars there. There was even a private event going on in the outside dining area which was covered and heated. All the food that I saw coming out of the kitchen on other plates looked incredible. “We came here for lunch and... The dishes were delectable while not trying too hard and not overtly superfluous. Sometimes simple is just perfect. And, Estrellita was just that for me.Honestly, I make the best adobo ever lol!!!However, I am really happy with Estrellita's adobo. I like it spicy so I asked for some sliced chilis to toss in my bowl instead of hot sauce. My best friend said that the pork sinigang soup was the bomb and soothed his hangover! We each got a Filipino BBQ add on and all I kept picturing in my head was being drunk in 1996 and eating one of these skewers from a street vendor in the streets of Manila. So good - So nostalgic - So Filipino. The Filipino Red Horse beer and Filipino Tanduay rum shot was strong and necessary! I might as well have been in the Philippines for real... Last but not least, the Ube bunt cake with Ube liqeur drizzle by Sweet Cheats was lusciously delicious and complemented the whole meal. Oh, the atmosphere and service by Aron and owner Hope was welcoming.”

The presentation in the gold cup with the lil fork (gold at that) got me wanting more. The Red Velvet Cookie didn't have a chance. So soft and yummy my brother only had 2 and I wished he gotten a half dozen. “As a connoisseur of authentic New York-style pizza, my visit to this hidden treasure was nothing short of a delight. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted by the fresh aroma of freshly baked crust and bubbling cheese. The ambiance exuded a cozy, neighborhood vibe, reminiscent of the pizzerias lining the streets of NYC. My take is keep the pizza simple! 1-2 toppings max, let the crust cheese and sauce do the talking. What truly sets this place apart is its authenticity and attention to detail. The crust, thin yet perfectly crisp, serves as the foundation for the perfectly balanced sauce and cheese. Each bite transports you to the streets of New York. Despite being located in Buckhead, Atlanta, the flavors remain true to their New York roots. The secret lies in the meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail needed to recreate the iconic Brooklyn-style pies with every order. But it's not just the pizza that makes this place special; it's the authentic NY pizza shop service that leaves a lasting impression. From the friendly smiles of the staff, every aspect is spot on. In a city known for its up and coming culinary scene, this shop stands out as a testament to broad appeal of New York-style pizza.
