“Great customer service made ordering very easy. The beef and shrimp fried rice was so delicious and adding the shito to this dish really topped it off. I had to try the okra stew with banku, and again I was not disappointed!! They have me as a customer that will keep returning. Just wow!“

“Being African I was curious about the fufu taco, but definitely was going to try other dishes. I ordered the chicken and beef fufu taco. Lamb chop and salmon dish as well as yuca fries. The fufu taco was delicious! It is innovative things like this that make culinary ART. The lamb chops and salmon were cooked to perfection in this amazing sauce! Couldn't finish the yuca fries as I tasted a bit of everything and got comatose full lol but now I see why he is a celebrity chef. Trust me...just try it. I guarantee you will come back for more. Already thinking on what to order next time.Keep in mind, as this may not be clear, that this location does not have seating. You just order on the pad in store or from a participating app for pick up or delivery. Still happy to discover a hidden gem!“

“Makay Chopbar catered my wedding last weekend and everything was a hit! Our menu included jollof with veggies, spring rolls, plantains, meatpies, grilled chicken, tomato goat stew, beef suya, and egusi! We barely had leftovers and all the guests raved how flavorful, tender, hot, and delicious the food was to honor my husband’s culture. It was a joy to see folks who never had this food going back for seconds and even grabbing to-go containers. The communication was impeccable and the chef accommodated special requests for food preparation to use traditional ingredients. The team arrived on time, created a lovely display, and the servers were so friendly. They also cleaned the area very well before departing.Next time we’re in town we’ll definitely order food and even try the their shipping option to VA! Paul runs a honest and affordable catering business. We greatly appreciate the entire staff for making our wedding day extra special!“

“This was not a planned visit but I stayed almost 2 hours. I loved the atmosphere. I didn’t eat anything. I had to go to the bar to order drinks. That could have been because we got there early but it was after midnight so I don’t know. I wish they had a dance floor. I didn’t like that we had to pay for parking but I will definitely visit again. That way I can stay longer and get the full experience and rate it. Stay tuned.“

“Forgive me for not taking a before picture. The lady at the counter was very nice. Small shop in a plaza. isn’t the best plaza. Unique smell inside. Delighted to see a good food option in the plaza. I ordered the grilled lamb, lamb wrap, and fried rice/Benechin/Thieb. Rice was the best but I like it better when there are vegetables in it. The lamb meat was fatty in it. I ate all of the rice. My lamb wrap wasn’t the best because the meat inside was over cooked and had a little off taste. It was poorly wrapped, I couldn’t finish it. The grilled lamb had good flavor along with those awesome onions on top. A lot of the meat was chewy and inedible which was a bummer. This is my second time eating from here and I wanted to like it more as it is closer to me than the restaurant I usually go to for this type of food. They are fair priced. Wanted to try the Snapper. The meat pies didn’t look filled so I didn’t order one. I can’t say that I am converted.Parking: Plaza needs updating and uplifting. Plenty parking everywhere. You can park upside down it’s so much space“
