Specialty Coffees

“I have been several times, and the fancier coffee drinks are worth the extra buck or two as the coffee of the day tasted like whiskey had been mixed in with it. The bakery items are absolutely delicious as were the lattes, which is why I am giving it a 5 in food. The service was paradoxically good and bad. I waited a really long time because the barista was chatting so long with the customer in front of me. I love the location and the street views. I think it would help a lot if they had an order kiosk/QR code or something like that to move people along during busier times.Parking: There is only street parking, so sometimes it can require a block or 2 to walk here. No big deal though because it means the area is thriving.Kid-friendliness: I think a hot chocolate or hot tea would work, but it is loud and a bar, too.“

“The best burger I've had in a long time and I didn't make it at home!! My bestie was out playing pool and I was sitting with mom and couldn't leave so she ordered me a nice cheese burger. I know it was made quick because the sandwich was still hot when she brought it to me around the corner at the hospital. I've been here several times and it's a pool hall so the noise level will be just that of a pool hall. I will definitely try them again since I loved the cheeseburger“

“Been going to the Highlander very occasionally since 1990. Used to stop in otw home from camp lejuene to Atlanta in the early 90’s and have stopped in at least once every couple of years since. Out of all the bars I’ve spent time in, and there’s been more than I care to admit, this is THE most consistent one. Drink, throw darts, people watch, and definitely get a shepherds pie. This is a quintessential dive bar, except the smoking has been moved outside. Definitely the best dive bar in Augusta/ North Augusta for 30+ years- maybe more.“
