“It's been over two weeks since my family and I visited The Polish American Bistro. It would be remiss of me not to leave a wonderful review of this lovely restaurant! Ania and Darek, the owners, are the nicest and most hospitable people ever! Since I have family in Poland, it was fun to talk to them about their homeland. Now about their food . . . it's completely amazing! I ordered galumpki (ground beef and rice wrapped in cabbage). The tomato sauce on top was so delicious, it spun circles around the sauce my grandma used to make (sorry, Grandma!)! My husband ate a breaded pork cutlet with mashed potatoes. SO tasty! And my daughter opted for a cheeseburger that looked and tasted so great that we even returned the next day to order another cheeseburger to go! Our entrees were accompanied by a side of two types of salad - one made of marinated red cabbage, and the other was their super delectable authentic Polish sour cream, cucumbers and dill. As you can tell, our dinner itself was a 5-star experience. Last but not least, I must discuss their DESSERTS! When you walk into Ania and Darek's restaurant, your eyes will immediately be drawn to their multi-tier display of desserts. Unfortunately, since our stomachs were full after our delicious dinner, we couldn't even think of dessert. However, take-home was still an option! So I asked Ania to escort me to the dessert case and tell me about her sweet treats. It turns out she owns a bakery in another suburb, and all the desserts are made on location at the bakery FROM SCRATCH! So we took a few home (see photo), ate them the next evening, and they did not disappoint! I loved them all, especially the vanilla custard inside the eclair and fruit tart! The chocolately hazelnut dessert was a Kinder Bueno torte. I want to go back and try more of these amazing treats! You should really go check out The Polish American Bistro, whether or not you are Polish! They have food for everyone. Dziękuję Ania and Darek!”

“Classic Chicago style hot dog/gyro spot. Good food. Fast customer service. Not a lot of room to sit and eat but I think that's how most of these type of restaurants are. Overall recommend trying it if you enjoy any of those classic chicago foods.”

“Small place, easy to miss. Excellent thin crust pizza. Limoncello Cake is light and delicious. The traditional bone-in wings are made to perfection. Wings were so good, they were gone before I thought to snap a pic. Very clean restaurant. Friendly staff.”

“The food is amazing. The house salad has a unique lemon oil dressing. So simple and refreshing. The neopolitan style pizza is the best in the area. Love the modern ambiance inside. Plus they have covered outdoor seating on their patio in the summer. Highly recommend if you are in the area.”

“My husband has been coming here since high school in the 1990’s - always raved about it. We’ve been coming together since we met 11 years ago. The food never disappoints and portions are huge! Our server, Sammie, has been here forever and is WONDERFUL!!! My husband travels to New York often for work and says the Canteen corned beef is even better than the famous Katz’s Deli in NYC!!! “Excellent mocktails and ambiance. Also, great piano music. The bartender was extremely organized and attentive to all her customers. She's basically a one-woman-army: bartender/barback/manager combined into one. Furthermore, I was impressed with her ability to deal with drunk patrons. Sadly they don't have a kitchen.”

“I randomly stopped at this restaurant, because it was near a store in the area. They make some of the best tacos I have ever eaten! Outstanding tacos at an excellent price. We had ordered pastor (pork), pescado (fish), and barbacoa (beef) tacos with everything on it. All of them were excellent, and the barbacoa were my favorite. The restaurant is hidden gem in a little hole in the wall place. I definitely plan to go back, but wish it weren't so far from where I live. I highly recommend La Mesa. I only write reviews if a restaurant is outstanding, and La Mesa is.”

“Organic Rootz is such a piece of sunshine in Barrington! Delicious smoothies and bowls, i've yet to try their food items but i will be sure to try them soon. Lots of local organic brands, an herb wall for all the herbalist out there, vitamins and oils, and great customer service. they're always friendly and go the extra mile during service.”

“My husband and I went there for a special anniversary celebration in September 2023 and loved it. Hadn't been there in a while and they did not disappoint. The weather was nice enough to sit on their patio - just a few sprinkles, but we had an umbrella over the table. Beautiful view of the golf course. Our server (Ally) was excellent and the food was delicious. My husband had the "porterhouse" pork chop - huge and perfectly cooked! I had one of the best petite filets I've had in a long time - so tender and flavorful. They gave us a free dessert for our anniversary - amazing limoncello shortbread cake with blueberry chambord sauce. Wow!”

It’s the only bar where friends gather and has an amazing culture and sense of community. If you don’t want to go to the city, but want that alternative bar that’s inclusive and has that good vibe this is the place for you. Daniella is exceptional and goes out of her way to accommodate your needs, and aside from her I haven’t met a bartender I didn’t like.A+ and highly recommend.”

“Fantastic taco! Tongue was tender and the perfect amount. Ingredients in the burrito was nicely distributed.Rice and beans were average, could do without.Minus one star for the tamale. SO SO DRY. Literally the worst tamale I had in my life. Pork is tasteless, if any. My guess is that the tamale was made way in advance, and so now that it’s old and dry, reheating it made it even drier.”

“I came here to visit a friend on a Wednesday. We got seated right away. I've been to other Egg Harbor locations, but not this one. It has the same decor and vibes as the other locations. I got the San Antonio Skillet, which was great, but I wasn't super full afterward. Also, our server did not come to pick up our check after a while, so we had to go to the front and pay. Overall not a bad experience.”
