“We were in the area and remembered that Two Chefs was down the street. We have emotional ties to this restaurant because they catered our wedding in 2011 and we were very impressed with their food. The waitress greeted us at the door and was very professional, polite, and well dressed. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie, it was very flavorful. The chicken was very tender and the crust was flaky like you would expect. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli it was so delicious and brought back memories. We will be back for sure when we are in the area again. If your in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!“

“This was my dads bar in the 70s! We lived down the street. Love the wall mural and fresco ceiling straight out of the 1940s! No tap beer currently but good selection of bottled. Great inexpensive place to have a couple beers and talk to friends. Jukebox Gaming!“

“De Campana is a go to restaurant whenever I want great Mexican food. I've been coming here for over 20 years. The ambiance of the restaurant hasn't changed since I first started coming here. The restaurant feels like a time capsule as it reminds me of eating a cooked meal at home. Everything on the menu is delicious. The staff is always friendly and attentive to whatever you need.“

We we're visiting from out of town and decided to try this place for my birthday dinner. We got the scallops and mushroom risotto, lobster bisque, prime burger and shrimp dinner. This was the best scallops and risotto I ever had! If you've never been make sure you go with an empty stomach because the portion sizes are big! Absolutely fantastic food. The dining room layout and decor leaves something to be desired, but aside from that, what a great experience! The waiters, manager and staff were very friendly and attentive. “They only serve lunch only during the weekdays (no dinner and no weekends). However it is the best lunch around! It's like your mom went in the kitchen and made it for you. Soups are made from scratch and they are delicious. The BLT on rye is outstanding. And if they have it, you have to try the potato salad. This is a bar with a Northwoods atmosphere that has affordable prices but there are some tables to sit at. They also have a Friday fish special.“

“My husband and I are visiting from Arizona and were meeting some friends in The Glen. We planned on going to The Yardhouse, but thought it was too noisy. Saw the reviews for The Oak and we were so glad we did. The burger I had was the best burger I have ever had, our friend felt the same. My husband and our other friend had the rueben, they loved them also. We left the restaurant and we were going to take individual pics, then this really nice guy offered to take a picture of all of us. He was so very nice. Guess what, he was the owner. We will definitely be back on our next visit here and our friends will be back sooner. Great food!!!!“

“We had a party in private room , over all they did good job . The food was excellent. I have few complaintswe were told that we would have 2 dedicated servers for our entire event and that did not appear to be the case .The restaurant it was very busy , understandable but were in a private party that requires extra care .1) At times our guests didn’t have water ,2) We were supposed have 5 courses however, the pasta and main courses got combined at the same time so we had too many serving plates on the dining tables.3) We paid for a premium drink package plus additional dollars for additional premium wine and other drinks and the servers did not check with the guests on a regular basis to see if they wanted something else.4)We expected that we would have two servers there at all times to assist as needed. To us it seemed that we had one person with others in and out of the room at different times. It seemed that staff was pulled away to help out elsewhere in the restaurant.This was a good experience but with a few small tweaks and better teamwork the private dining experience could be fantastic.“

We ordered food from Crust next door and it was delivered to our table (ordering was easy and our food was very good). The musicians were outstanding; they played an array of requests and the audience including us enjoyed engaging in the singing and other stage antics! 100% recommendation on the experience and 100% worth the $12.00 cover charge. “Smitty's ale house is at the location of the old stores, the spirits bar not the strip club. They really did not change much from the outside. The new owners updated the bathrooms, looks like they expanded the kitchen and removed the dj booth. All probably good moves, based off of the history. The aaa staff was nice and engaging. The crowd for a bears Sunday was a lot lighter than the places previously iteration . That may be due to the bears sucking this year though. There was also less staff but enough for the limited crowd. For an ale works they had pretty standard beers on tap. Looked like only one rotating tap out of the 10 on the taps. Not a very deep option for beer needs. I do think any bar named Smitty's should have guineas on tap . I had the steak quesadillas. They were solid bar food. Overall thisplace is worth the stop but needs a bit more to stand out.“

“Celebrated my wife's birthday at this location. We both spent time in Germany during my military career and this was a close resemblance to our dining experience in Germany. I enjoyed all the German dishes I ordered and the German Beer on tap was most excellent.“

“The Newark Nook is one of the more famous speakeasy's on Chicago's Northwest side. While it is most famous for being Milton S. Hershey's preferred watering hole when he visited Chicago for the 1893 World's Fair, it was also the scene of several gangland shootings in the 1920's, and was built on the site of a civil war battle where famed wild Buffalo hunter, Col. Michael Gallen, was killed. Today the bar is mostly known for its extensive cocktail list and secret lounge area. The food is prepared by a former James Beard award winning chef but is a bit too fancy to my taste, but everything is very nice. The Colonel Gallen Buffalo Nachos are stellar and include a commemorative plate that can be taken home.“
