“I don't know who all the folks from California are with the bad reviews. I have been eating Joe's rib tips, gizzards, and fish for years, and never had a bad meal. The rib tips are outstanding, the sauce is excellent, the gizzards are fried just right, and the fish is delicious. If you don't like bones in your fish, get the catfish fillets and avoid the perch. I always have them leave the fries off my order because by the time I drive home they are lukewarm, and I like fries blazing hot from the oil. Now I gotta try their beef ribs!“

“Superb!! Fabulous!! Wonderful!! Mission BBQ - Downer's Grove catered the Rehearsal Dinner we hosted and we couldn't have been more pleased! We contacted several caterers, looking for a gluten-free menu, and we decided on them. They had lots of GF options and they were terrific to work with. Angela, the event coordinator, contacted me several days ahead of the event, to see if she could get there early to check everything out and set up. Not only did she and Isabelle arrive early, but they also asked if they could help us with anything we needed to do, including decorating the tables! Then the catering staff, Bob and Yolanda, arrived and were equally as helpful! The food was plentiful and delicious!!! I highly recommend their food and catering services. Thank you Angela, Isabelle, Yolanda and Bob for going above and beyond, for making everything so easy, and helping us enjoy a wonderful evening!!!And I love that Mission BBQ is 'proudly serving those who serve' by giving back to many national and local charitable organizations. “The food was FIRE!!! ? I had the 6pc grilled bbq sauce chicken wings with fries and a Mountain Dew! It came out in 5 minutes and I was very satisfied. $13.50 it was amazing. Super flavorful, fries were seasoned and crispy! Chicken was full of flavor and well cooked perfectly. It came with ranch which I think is homemade! But it was all 10/10. I’ve been a huge fan of other wing places but this straight up trashes them! I’ll be coming here for now on! I can’t wait to come here again! If you’re dieting but want a good cheat meal this is it… You can get a 1/4 chicken grilled with rice and green beans. It’s great ??“

“Stopped in for carryout. Ordering was a bit confusing. We did try the brisket, and it was delicious. The sides were just OK (lots of rice, a few potatoes, garlic, some type of tomato salad, corn, and Cole slaw). They also give you lots of sauces. I would go back and dine in.“

“Today's visit was Mothers Day Brunch. So many fabulous ,fresh choices. Old favorites like bananas foster French toast and chicken tenders and Mac and cheese. Attentive staff. Stocked buffet. Full bar with great brunch cocktails. Easy peasy. ??❤Wheelchair accessibility: A few handicapped spots in front. Great area to unload by the door if you can't get one of those. It took a bit of navigation on this busy Holiday but helpful staff made it easy.“

“My friend and I stopped in at Firewater BBQ in Elmhurst on Thursday Dec. 1st for the "Granny's Lunch Box Special" which is available daily from 11AM-2PM. This was my second visit and my friend's first at Firewater. We both ordered the Angus beef brisket sandwich with a side of 3 cheese Mac & Cheese and a soda. The brisket (smoked for 22 hrs) is amazingly tender and flavorful. It was piled high on a toasted brioche bun and is served with your choice of sweet or spicy BBQ sauce or both if you like. The Mac & Cheese is sooo silky-smooth and creamy and compliments the brisket quite well. There are complimentary pickled jalapeños and sweet & spicy pickles available as well. My friend was so impressed by this amazing brisket that he placed another exact order to go to bring home. The cashier who also took our order was very friendly and polite. We told one of the chefs, Shawn, (pictured) that we really enjoyed the brisket and complimented his skills. My friend and I will both be returning to Firewater BBQ and we'll definitely be letting our family and friends know about this wonderful BBQ spot.“

“Like most, we've had a bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's Sauce in our pantry for years. I was recently tasked with finding a new place to meet up with friends. With the help of Yelp, I stumbled across Sweet Baby Ray's Restaurant. The BBQ was excellent, the Service was perfect, and the ambiance of the place is just as it should be. I'll be back again soon. If you are in the area and like BBQ, make sure you give them a visit.“

“We were there with Son and Future Daughter in Law. For Catering Tasting. Also meeting her Mother and Step Father for the first time. So a little nervous but Good food always makes things easier Immediately! ?Vegetarian options: The have Salades and don't know.Wheelchair accessibility: I have MS. So even though not in wheell chair I definitely notice if level and even. I Sometimes have to use a rolling walker.“

“Smitty's ale house is at the location of the old stores, the spirits bar not the strip club. They really did not change much from the outside. The new owners updated the bathrooms, looks like they expanded the kitchen and removed the dj booth. All probably good moves, based off of the history. The aaa staff was nice and engaging. The crowd for a bears Sunday was a lot lighter than the places previously iteration . That may be due to the bears sucking this year though. There was also less staff but enough for the limited crowd. For an ale works they had pretty standard beers on tap. Looked like only one rotating tap out of the 10 on the taps. Not a very deep option for beer needs. I do think any bar named Smitty's should have guineas on tap . I had the steak quesadillas. They were solid bar food. Overall thisplace is worth the stop but needs a bit more to stand out.“

“I don’t do reviews often but when I say I wanted to write this review mid bite! This BBQ restaurant is sooo delicious! Juan is a pit master and a saint! We drove from Chicago to try it and they did not disappoint. Lord forgive me the Waygu beef brisket was a melt in your mouth tender I can only describe as heavenly. I regret not getting more we had samples of the smoked Turkey, tri tip, & hot chicken. We ordered the half chicken, the waygu brisket, street corn, Mac and cheese, slaw, corn bread, to go we had the rice pudding and bread pudding Delicious! I overheard chef describing a smoked gyro they do on Fridays and not a Friday will pass that I won’t think about hightailing it to Beach Ave. BBQ to try it! The experience from the entrance to the exit!! was perfect!! the menu items were fairly priced the dine in area was clean and the staff were attentive and kind! 10/10 would recommend! “It's been too long, Gale Street Inn! We missed the mouth-watering ribs, the classic cocktails, the skilled staff. Well, last night we finally made it back, along with couple friends visiting from Germany, and boy, you did no disappoint! Our friends were duly impressed with the classy supper-club-like atmosphere (we had to explain "supper club"), the size and flavor of the succulent ribs, the melt-in-your-mouth salmon, and a small, but well-curated beer selection. “Gave this place a whirl during my lunch before tuning 4 pianos at Crone Middle School. It exceeded my expectations so much that I came back after tuning those pianos which was 4.5 hours later and the cashier even recognized me which was a nice surprise. Customer service was great and the food was even better. I love that they have a few different sauces to experiment with the tasty food. The sassy, shark sauce and shark white and can’t forget there version of the Carolina sauce. All of it was on point. I had the half chicken and a sausage link with a side of green beans, mashed potatoes and sweet mashed later on with the corn muffin. Everything was kosher and definitely will be back next week as there are more pianos to be tuned at different schools. Highly recommend this place!“

“I stopped in for dinner at Famous Dave’s on March 28th with a couple of buddies. I’d never been and had to try their bbq - and it was delicious! Highly recommend the brisket nachos, and if you go on a Thursday, their Rib Tip platter is fantastic.The service was incredible too. If you go, ask for Steph. She made sure we were taken care of, went out of her way to share her recs, and even brought the manager by to say hello - really cool guy! They always have the most tastiest foods and my favorite is the gyro plate because it’s such a good portion that can be made into two meals if you are spreading out your meals. “Still a BBQ Mission fan but this one comes close!Lovely establishment featuring a Tuesdays Rib Special . Great place for fundraising ! We loved the Brisket which is moist and has a bit of delicious fat, the pulled pork is not dry but flavorful and turkey slices are just ok -maybe lacking flavor which can be dressed up with a choice of sauce.The two slices of bread could be replaced by the traditional corn bread .The coleslaw was freshly made and yum! We found the mac & cheese to be bland and is a surprise because other patrons complained about this item and feedback didn’t seem to help! The triple chocolate cake is tasty but not moist enough so it crumbles.We paid $34 and was enough for two persons.Very pleasant staff will return on Tuesdays !“
