“I am a very picky sushi connoisseur and if you are looking for a quality & consistent sushi restaurant in the near Skokie part of the suburbs- I would highly recommended this. The owner is very friendly and helpful if you have preferences or questions about the menu. Their crunch series and futo maki are an excellent lunch special. Good quality fish, and satisfying rolls. If I could give any suggestion to them- please please please consider using less plastic/ non recyclable takeout products!“

“Best sushi I've had outside of Japan! Sometimes, omakase and high-end sushi spots try to get too crazy with their menu, but KND is simple, focusing on the quality of the dish. Our chef was very skilled and gave us a rundown of where they acquire all their fresh ingredients. The sake also paired wonderfully with the sushi. Our 16-course omakase was the perfect amount. A great place for a special occasion.“

“No idea how this place isn’t more busy! I’ve been here four times and enjoyed everything I had: the negi hamachi roll, the salmon roll, the unagi mango, the crazy, spicy tuna, and edamame. We especially enjoyed the edamame and unagi mango. The edamame was seasoned perfectly and the unagi mango just melted in your mouth it was so cohesive and delicious. The only thing I didn’t like was when we got takeout edamame it didn’t have the same seasoning. “I called ahead on a Tuesday for their dinner reservations, we were told they weren't busy that night so we went ahead and made the one hour drive just for their sushi and their great reviews. We had the best experience and their sushi was truly top notch. We basically ordered everything on the menu from sushi, caviar to desserts and drinks. they did not disappoint, customer service was superb. The owner even came outside to attend us, he showed up with his own bottle of sake. I truly appreciate the great experience we had at this beautiful and clean restaurant. I have nothing bad to say, the food was high quality and extremely delicious. I definitely recommend this location, even if you have kids which I did. We left so happy and satisfied, loved it.“

“We like this place. I am fine with rather simple sushi, but Blowfish serves theirs with more toppings and sauces, generally speaking. They recently ish moved into a much larger space and this is appreciated as we always had to wait for a table in their old space. Service is always friendly and attentive. Busy but not too loud. I usually get a bowl (hyper chirashi?) with a bunch of fresh seafood, rice and sauce. Very good, nice textures and flavors. Bf usually gets the rolls/maki. All very good. Some rolls are better than others and I forget which ones he likes best. We celebrated a family member's bday in the late summer and had a very nice time.“

Behind the modest dining area with 3 tables and a narrow counter is hiding an amazing Japanese chef who is not only brilliant in delivering the highest quality of sushi and sashimi, cooking delightful hot dishes but also pays close attention to the presentation of his creations. My sashimi selection was delightful and miso soup very tasty. The nice nod to the classic Japanese cuisine was a delicious assortment of Japanese pickles. My husband loved the incredible dressing of the house salad, the right consistency of the egg rolls, and the freshness of the shrimp tempura roll. He was particularly fond of the rich flavor of his gyoza. Kelly made us feel very welcome at her restaurant. We cannot wait to be back at this hidden gem! Bravo, Akira-San! Save our table“
