“Hands down one of the best restaurants I've been to. A beautiful place with a great vibe. They have a bar in the main dining area which is great if you're looking to hangout after dinner. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and fun! Every dish we had was SPECTACULAR!!!. We ordered about 8 dishes and every single one was delicous. You can tell they use high quality products/ingredients. Lastly, the price we paid for this 10 STAR experience was too low in my opinion. I would easily pay triple the amount for this place. “Quality food, cooked perfectly but a little on the salty side. Perfect for that guy who salts his food before tasting it. The lamb is amazing. So delicious! The wait staff is attentive but the restaurant in the casino could use a little more space between the seats. Kind of like an airport restaurant meets a movie theater?“

“Always good food and service at No Manches. We were quickly seated and chips and sauces arrived quickly. Combo fajitas were great. Our server was efficient and helpful. The sound system is quite loud and does make conversation a bit difficult. I believe it would still be easily heard at a slightly lower volume. We really enjoy the restaurant and staff and intend to return soon.“

“Nice, very tiny place. Good beer. Seating is not the most comfortable, lots of backless bar stools and small tables. Within the location is a business where they press cremated ashes into diamonds. Fine. But then brewery stuff is stored in the dead people processing partitioned space. I don't get it.“

We we're visiting from out of town and decided to try this place for my birthday dinner. We got the scallops and mushroom risotto, lobster bisque, prime burger and shrimp dinner. This was the best scallops and risotto I ever had! If you've never been make sure you go with an empty stomach because the portion sizes are big! Absolutely fantastic food. “My wife and I randomly discovered this place, and it didn't disappoint! We were hoping to find a chill spot to grab a drink with low-key vibes, and this was exactly the place we were looking for. They have fantastic beer, easy-going nature, and it just feels like a place you want to hang. They have an awesome array of board games which we love, and took part in. We had to cut the night short but it was a spot we could have stayed for hours. We now know exactly where to hit up next time we go to Highwood!“

“I was always resistant to trying bar food but my son loves going there with his friends so, I had to give it a try and to my surprise, the food was absolutely amazing. I used to only order the sample platter, steak sandwich and chicken wings but last night I tried their steak fajitas and it was surprisingly spectacular. Their margarita didn't taste as authentic as the food made by authentic Mexicans. However the manager was kind enough to offer me an amazing old fashioned and the bartender nailed it making my experience even more special. I'm not a fan of dive bars but they make you feel very welcome definitely turning into one of my regular places to go!“

“My husband and I are visiting from Arizona and were meeting some friends in The Glen. We planned on going to The Yardhouse, but thought it was too noisy. Saw the reviews for The Oak and we were so glad we did. The burger I had was the best burger I have ever had, our friend felt the same. My husband and our other friend had the rueben, they loved them also. We left the restaurant and we were going to take individual pics, then this really nice guy offered to take a picture of all of us. He was so very nice. Guess what, he was the owner. We will definitely be back on our next visit here and our friends will be back sooner. Great food!!!!“

“We were in the area and remembered that Two Chefs was down the street. We have emotional ties to this restaurant because they catered our wedding in 2011 and we were very impressed with their food. The waitress greeted us at the door and was very professional, polite, and well dressed. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie, it was very flavorful. The chicken was very tender and the crust was flaky like you would expect. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli it was so delicious and brought back memories. We will be back for sure when we are in the area again. If your in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!“

“The single party cheeseburger I had was very simple but tasted great. You can tell the beef is fresh and high quality. It melts in your mouth. It’s a pretty big patty so you probably don’t need a double unless you’re starving. I added the grilled onions and those only amplified the taste. The fries were good too but they don’t come out salted so I had to add my own.“

“Smitty's ale house is at the location of the old stores, the spirits bar not the strip club. They really did not change much from the outside. The new owners updated the bathrooms, looks like they expanded the kitchen and removed the dj booth. All probably good moves, based off of the history. The aaa staff was nice and engaging. The crowd for a bears Sunday was a lot lighter than the places previously iteration . That may be due to the bears sucking this year though. There was also less staff but enough for the limited crowd. For an ale works they had pretty standard beers on tap. Looked like only one rotating tap out of the 10 on the taps. Not a very deep option for beer needs. I do think any bar named Smitty's should have guineas on tap . I had the steak quesadillas. They were solid bar food. Overall thisplace is worth the stop but needs a bit more to stand out.“

“Personally, Im a sucker for polish food. I get very particular when is comes to my favorite dishes. When i say these dishes were spectacular, i mean it. Definitly will be back again and might bring a couple of my friends. Service and Atmosphere was wonderful. Im am so amazed by how well these entres were prepared. “The Newark Nook is one of the more famous speakeasy's on Chicago's Northwest side. While it is most famous for being Milton S. Hershey's preferred watering hole when he visited Chicago for the 1893 World's Fair, it was also the scene of several gangland shootings in the 1920's, and was built on the site of a civil war battle where famed wild Buffalo hunter, Col. Michael Gallen, was killed. Today the bar is mostly known for its extensive cocktail list and secret lounge area. The food is prepared by a former James Beard award winning chef but is a bit too fancy to my taste, but everything is very nice. The Colonel Gallen Buffalo Nachos are stellar and include a commemorative plate that can be taken home.“

“Celebrated my wife's birthday at this location. We both spent time in Germany during my military career and this was a close resemblance to our dining experience in Germany. I enjoyed all the German dishes I ordered and the German Beer on tap was most excellent.“
