Good, fresh sushi in a nice atmosphere. While here, I had the opportunity to try some Japanese beers I've never had before with was a bonus for me. I had a sushi combination plate which was very bright and fresh. My wife had Tonkatsu which is a favorite of hers from Sankyu. She hadn't been here in years and it was still delicious.
We were day tripping in the area from Wisconsin and were looking for a place that served okonomiyaki This was the closest and we hit the jackpot. The service was super friendly and helpful. The food was great. The experience was so good we plan on hitting it up whenever we're in town!

Every time I dine in at Izakaya Sankyu, I walk out full and happy! For the longest time, Kitakata was my favorite places for Japanese appetizers and drinks, as well as the occasional "comfort food" entrée, and I was sad when they closed.
