“I’ve lived less than a mile from this place for a decade and never tried it; tonight was the night. It’s a unique establishment - hookah lounge, banquet hall, bar. Walking in was a little confusing for first timers but we were quickly welcomed and seated at the bar. Drink pours were impressively heavy. Our food came out fast and was great. The cheese burek appetizer deserves special mention with its garlic and hot sauces! Our waiter/bartender was in full hustle mode on a busy Friday night but still found time to take good care of us and have a few short chats. Overall I’d highly recommend eating here. It’s a bit “different,” but who likes the same old thing over and over? I’ll be back.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here.Parking: Parking in front and behind the building, one lot has a small curb to traverse. Not an issue for most vehicles.“

“This is a no frills, cash only spot, but don't let it fool you. Some of the best food around at super affordable prices. The service is top notch as well. The people running this place clearly care about the food and service they provide!“

“Ignore the weird racist comments – the food here is pretty good! Margarita was lovely, fries were great, schnitzel was juicy and tender. Falafel was nice and green, although a little underspiced. Staff was great and friendly. I will be back!“

“Food was 4, the romaine was underwhelming, cold, and soggy. Please take this off the menu, it doesn’t tie into anything or have any caliber of elevation/finesse like the other dishes.Service was good, though the woman refilling the water spilt everywhere every time she refilled. Tyler was exceptional and we enjoyed him!!The gin cocktail was incredible and delicious. Very unique.Bathrooms were not reflective of what this restaurant needs to be recognized for. Investing in rehab would be beneficial to their brand.Overall, the food was worth it!“

“Mom and I stopped here for lunch while in town for a concert. Food was absolutely delicious - my rice was perfect and the lamb kabob was great. Mom loved the chicken shawarma. The portions were large and price reasonable. People were very friendly. If we lived nearby I would come here all the time and I'm keeping it on my radar for any future Chicago visits.“

“Truly excellent. I totally see why this place is so highly rated - it deserves more reviews even!I went here with my sister on a random Sunday for some Mediterranean food. We passed it by a million times but never knew it existed in this small strip mall! The person working the front is one awesome guy. I’m not sure if he’s the owner (he gives me owner vibes) but he was so personable, attentive, hospitable, and welcoming. Such a gracious host! The food was phenomenal, period. The hummus was so creamy and seasoned nicely, the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the lentil soup was delicious, the salad was refreshing, and the falafel was crispy on the inside and so soft on the inside. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. We took what we couldn’t finish home but rest assured we devoured everything lol. There’s convenient parking right outside and even though it’s a relatively small place, there’s tables inside for you to dine in if you’d like.I’ll totally be back here again! 5/5!“

“Unbelievable food. The Kabuli Palaw had some of the best lamb I’ve ever tasted. Meaty, incredibly tender, deeply spiced roasted flavor but still juicy. Fell off the bone with a breath. The rice was fluffy and fragrant, while the carrots and raisins provided a sweetness to cut the richness. A light side salad to add freshness and a chickpea curry for some creamy side made for a well-rounded meal. Super friendly owner, very warm and welcoming. Will be coming back for sure.“

“Sinya just catered the 175th anniversary celebration dinner for our church. They were extremely helpful in the ordering and preparing phase...reassuring us that the portions identified in the group menu were plentiful...and I must say they really were! The food arrived on time, still hot, and delicious! We couldn't have asked for a more. My husband and I order from Sinya regularly for ourselves but this experience prompts this review for folks looking to serve large numbers of people.“

“Best food in town. These are his mom’s recipes, and she is sometimes behind the counter, stirring the pot. Bare-bones dining area (it used to be a hotdog stand), but the quality of the food is unsurpassed. Nothing bad on the menu, but I get the chicken plate “Tony Style,” with layers of buckwheat kasha, hummus, and tabbouleh. We did take out at least once a week during lockdown, and nearly always got it from here. We were not the only ones. There is a small army of regulars, many of whom the owner knows by name.“

“It was my first time to try Pita Inn. I ordered the combination platter which included a falafel, beed kabab, grilled chicken and lamb, with rice, wrap and greens, too. It was a big feast, good for sharing.. Everything was tasty, except for the lamb which was kinda dry. We ordered the hummus, as well, which was also good. One particular staff, older than the others, was very nice and welcoming.“

“Decided to try this place since our usual place was closed. So glad we did! Excellent food, HUGE portions and good service. Love that the kabobs come with peppers and onions and not just the meat. It was a great surprise to find the chicken shawarma under the kabobs! (I just ordered two combination plates without really reading the menu.) Definitely trying more in the future.“

“My go to place when I'm craving Mediterranean. The food is beyond good. I typically get the combo plate and lentil soup. The grilled chicken is always seasoned perfectly, the grilled kefta kabab is very tender, chicken and beef shawarma is insanely delicious. Their lentil soup is packed with flavor- hummus is creamiest I've ever had. Service is friendly - ambiance is not the best but that's okay, the delicious food makes up for it. Highly highly recommend“

“Aside from great food, the service is incredible. The owners are special people and visit tables to ensure everything is as satisfactory as possible, I appetizers were great, as were the main courses. We are not kosher observant but this was recommended to us by neighbors who are and are going to be regular customers because the food and people are so nice. The other customers were friendly and it is family friendly.Parking: in lot“

“Caspian Kabab has wonderful food with such a wide variety, there is something for everyone! The owner, Massoud, goes out of his way to ensure that everyone feels is happy and full! The sample platters are a great way to try a lot of different food. His homemade hummus, crabcakes, lamb kabobs, chocolate cake are the best and you have to try his tea! Thanks you, Massoud, for a great night out with the family!!!!! We'll be back!!!!“

“We had lunch from here. This is a Zabiha halal restaurant. The dishes we had were delicious especially the lamb Quzi platter. The meat combo platter is more than enough for the number of people mentioned in the menu. It’s definitely a tryout place. The staff are also friendly and welcoming to us.“

“We stopped here for breakfast with a friend and Hassna was wonderful, she answered all our questions about every dish and confection. Many of the Moroccan dishes i hadnt tried before so i wanted to try the stuffed Msemmen, fish pastilla, and shebekia. I really wanted to try basbussah, but it had Dairy in it which I have an intolerance to. We got all the and it was delicious! We also ordered Moroccan mint tea which was perfect. Hassna offered to teach me how to cook Moroccan food which was so generous and kind, I wish I lived in the area I would love to learn!“

“This restaurant has the best hummus and lentil soup in a 50 mile radius. Everything on the menu is perfection. But the Lentil soup is one of my secret beauty tips.. eat it every day and your skin will be so soft!! It's gotta be the perfect olive oil they use. The house salad no meat is my other favorite thing on the menu. They have a drink for everyone. They've got two kinds of syrup. The rose water syrup is perfect in a coffee with no cream or tons of cream. The orange blossom syrup is great with the tea. They are attached to a little grocery, and the little grocery store has a special yogurt drink. The plain drink goes great with the soup. A perfect light lunch. I couldn't love this place more!!!“

“I was looking for a place to buy a snack while waiting for my daughter to get her braces on and the lady at the desk recommended this place. I am so glad I came in here. Very nice and welcoming people and the salad I ordered was so fresh and delicious. I was even offered a small cup of soup to taste. It was Lentil Soup and it was so good and I rarely eat Lentils. I will be back again.“

“Good authentic middle eastern food. The chicken shawarma and kabab are marinated very well. I recommend the chicken shawarma as a pita rather than the wrap. Falafel pita was also very tasty and pairs great with the tabouleh. All in all definitely worth it.“

“Disclaimer: I’m Lebanese. Decent food (not as authentic as could be though) and cute decoration and display of desserts. Prices are decent and portions are generous! The waitress was speaking too fast and constantly seemed in a hurry. We felt pressured to order and communicate any requests. It would be nice to add some music to add some ambience (Fairuz!).“

“I don't live far, and I rarely visit Zad or Pita Inn, but I needed something for lunch that wasn't fast food. I ordered the Zad lunch special to go. I was kinda surprised it wasn't busier inside because I know the Pita Inn gets packed for lunchtime. I didn't check my meal until I got home, but I thought the lunch special used to come with shawarma, too. It came with chicken, beef kabobs, falafel, salad, and rice. It also had the sauce and pita on the side. Overall, it's not a bad meal, but tbh I've had much better Middle Eastern food, so I don't see myself visiting Pita Inn/Zad very often.“

“A neighbor recommended Mr Shawarma and decided to give them a try. I ordered the fried shrimp and the chicken wings and they were fried to perfection. However the chicken wings were too salty. The place is very clean and the employees very attentive. It is located on a business strip so parking can be challenging. I live next door so I am lucky.I do recommend Mr Shawarma. Open everyday from 12 to 8 PM except Saturday from 12:30 PM to 6 PM.Parking: There is free parking on a strip mall but it is often busy. More meter parking on Wilson“

“1st time here and the food was super yummy and authentic. Had falafel, kefta kabob, and lentil soup. The falafels were huge and nice and crunchy on the outside and rich and flavorful on the inside. The rice was savory without being sticky or clumpy and was delicious. The kefta was aromatic and cooked perfectly. And the lentil soup was deep and rich.Every dish had deep rich flavors and tasted fresh and authentic with a variety of tastes and textures and spices. Will definitely return to try more dishes.“

“I was searching for an authentic place around me with gyros. And this place is the spot! I ordered their gyros plate and baklava - both were delicious. What truly blew my mind was their hummus! I had to go back the next day to get another small side of hummus. Mo served me at the front and he was very kind. They were making fresh falafel at the time. I told him I'm not a fan of falafel because I had this one bad experience several years ago where the falafel was dry and had no distinct flavor. Basically a ball of dry chickpeas... Blegh... But Mo gave me one to try and that was just wow! Changed my mind on falafels. Gyros, delicious hummus, baklava and falafels Definitely a gem in the Andersonville neighborhood. I will be back to try more dishes!“
