“I met a friend here about a month ago. But before I go on, I want to preface that I'm not a big coffee drinker. In fact, if I'm gonna be totally honest, I really don't like coffee. I'll drink a mocha with oat milk and an extra shot of chocolate to overwhelm the coffee flavor and will do it hot or cold. I'll get a hot apple cider if a place has it or a good hot cup of hot chocolate. Blu Fig is nestled in the tiny Mill Shops in Long Grove. The main parking lot is already inadequate to handle everything here especially Joanie's Pizza and Broken Earth Winery. However, Blu Fig is a nice addition. The small coffee shop is on the corner when you first pull into the lot and its windows and entryway face inward to the parking area and not out onto one of the two main roads in downtown Long Grove. I arrived after my friend and ordered what I mentioned above and asked for a piece of lemon cake (pound cake). To say that both were delicious is an understatement. The mocha was made with love. Not just because they put a heart in the foam on top, but it tasted that way. They took their time perfecting my cup o'mocha and brought it to me in a to go cup with the top off to showcase their heart. The pastry was delicious and is sourced from the bakery a few doors down. It's a quaint spot with 15-20 seats. The owners (a couple) pour their heart and soul into Blu Fig and you can certainly tell. Wi-fi is available and is a great nook for reading, working, meeting friends, and to start or end your day.“

“I am sharing this review on behalf of my mom who experienced the best service, tastiest hamburgers and freshly baked Lemon Blueberry Scones. She and her friends play cards every Saturday, most times after playing they go out for dinner; they have tried the location in Itasca for breakfast before cards, but they wanted to check them out afterwards for a burger. They called ahead to see what time they were closing; the person who answered said they were getting ready to close but offered to stay open to make some burgers for them, they placed their order ahead of time so not to keep the staff stay open any longer, when they arrived the burgers were coming off the grill. She commented how the burger was just the right size (she is not a fan of thick burgers), her friend asks if they had any Lemon Blueberry Scones available; they did not but had some scones prepared for baking in the morning and decided to bake off some for them as well. My mom purchased three! I believe the one who serviced them was one of the partners, she invited them to come play large enough to seat the teams and decks of cards nicely. Service like this goes way above and beyond the norm these days, she said she was going to tell her friends about this experience and are plan on meeting there for breakfast before playing cards next week. In this day and time, it is nice to see others care for our seniors with care and respect. It will go a long way... So, if you have never tried Joe Donut in Itasca for their cake donuts, or breakfast or even the hamburgers for lunch - this reviewer would recommend you do so... you will not be disappointed; especially when it comes to their service. “Best cheese cake, I have ever eaten. Visited their corporate office yesterday and bought some frozen cheese cakes. If you buy frozen , it is cheaper but you can eat after at least 90 minutes. They have a small operation where they sell sliced ready to eat ones but they are more pricey. They have great selection. Especially I recommend the samplers.Parking: Huge parking lot available for free“

I'm a sucker for ginger chicken and it was great, the pickled veg rocked and the bread (arguably the most important component) was outstanding. “I was actually referred to Dave by another person in the industry. He said to me "Dave is great. Go to him." Boy was he ever! Brought my machine in on Tuesday and it was ready by Thursday. The price was fair and the machine works great. I was exhausted and asked if he could make me a cup of coffee and he even happily made me a double espresso to go. He is a sweet, humble, good man. The facility is quite impressive too. I'm a fan!...and I forgot to say...Cafe Carioca is some of the best tasting espresso around.“

“Came here for another corn dog. My wife and really Luke the original kong dog with half beef and half cheese, so we got 4 of them. The corn dogs are good, I just wished the stick wasn't so long. Every time you take your first bite, you will bite into the stick. Otherwise, everything is good here.“

I’m pretty sure they use the real fruits, bc there is no artificial flavor taste.We got the caramel latte freeze, melon freeze, and mango freeze.
