“I recently moved in the area and heard great reviews of this place, so naturally I had to try it. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by smiling faces, and the place was full! (All very good signs) the girl at the counter recommended the chicken kabob sandwich and it was DELICIOUS. The chicken was so tender and everything tasted so fresh! “This was for a 65 yr. high school reunion. Although we didn't have enough people to have a private room, they set us up in such a way that it felt like we were in a private room. “i am so grateful for such a wonderful evening at lula cafe! i went with a friend last night and the service, the food, and the atmosphere truly were all five stars. the staff were just so lovely, it felt as if i'd been coming for years and was a cherished regular. we started with the baked feta and it actually came with more than enough delicious sourdough to enjoy it with. you ever notice how a lot of places will give you something delicious to dip, but you run out of something to eat it with? haha clearly lula cafe wants you to just eat and have fun - they take care of the rest. my main was delicious and the ricotta ice cream with chocolate and cherries? i could have eaten a litre. thanks again!!“

“A not so hidden gem as of late now that reviews are catching up with the imaginative menu and exceptional dining experience Community Tavern has been consistently providing over the past several years. Menu is full of unique dishes… elevated dumpling and noodles are a signature. Beautifully plated and generous- but not overly. Cocktail menu is fun, with zero proof options that are spot on. Save room for baked Alaska. Oh, and ambiance is chic but allows the focus to be where it belongs. On the food. Upscale West Loop experience in modest Portage Park for a lot less and no pretense.“

“First off, the service was excellent. Michael did an amazing job. He knew the menu from front to back. He spoke loud enough so everyone at the table could here him even in a noisy, crowded restaurant. He deserves a big shout out! The food came out quickly and was presented in a very nice manner, congrats to the food runners. The food was absolutely delicious, congrats to the kitchen staff. Over all it was a great Mothers Day choice and we will certainly be back and not just for a special occasion.“

“We made a reservation, arrived on time, were told our table would not be ready for 15 min. There is no where to wait at the restaurant (no room at the bar and we had someone under 21 with us and there is no place else to wait where you are not in the way. We chose to wait outside. Why bother making reservation if the table is not ready? There were several open tables, too and upon return 15 min later those same tables were open! It's just very frustrating and this is the second time something like this has happened. If it happens again I am not so sure I will be as open to returning.“

Sitting outside is like a huge barbecue, the awkward family reunion type. Super chill vibe, lots of people just having a good time and enjoying the sun. The fried chicken sandwich, fish sandwich, and hush puppies are amazing. If you have better restraint than I do and can eat your food slowly like a normal human being, he won’t leave feeling like you need a nap. Highly recommend the hush puppies she just wishes he could sit on the bench and drool closer to us“

“Its a great restaurant, been here many of times, upon my last visit our waitress was an older white woman with bleached blond hair! She was mad because the customers were done eating but hadn't gotten up from the table! Complaining about she's tired and ready to go home. I thought it was unprofessional! And!!!!! “Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“

I enjoyed both the Irish band music and the Trinity Children Dancers. The food was right on point! Authentic Irish corn beef/cabbage. Katherine and I collectively have been to Vistro (Prime) a few times . . . and the food, craft cocktails, and atmosphere make for an excellent social and culinary experience. It was wonderful to see Patrick doing the Mixology while the other restaurant is in process of opening apparently this spring.This time around, Katherine and I stopped by for a craft cocktail, and we ended up enjoying the happy hour oysters that were very good.I have never offered a single suggested critique of Vie or Vistro.The only request I have is for the manager of Vistro Prime is to check the barstools at the bar.My barstool was wobbly, and it likely/ simply needs to be tightened up. I’m a handy person and have constructed and repaired barstools; so possibly, the hardware for some of your barstools needs to be tightened up and or repaired.They are beautiful barstools!Other than that, I completely recommend Vistro Prime to every and anyone that receives this review and all my friends and family as always!“

“Elm restaurant in LaGrange is an upscale "to be seen " restaurant and cocktail lounge. You can dine on the ground level or the upper level, which offers a covered outside environment. The food is exceptional, as is the service and modern decor. They have a partially viewable kitchen in which I observed no less than 11 people working the cook line. I also saw an upstairs and downstairs casual seating conversation area, which was quite unique. A stairway or elevator access is available to the second floor for outdoor dining and banquet room. The menu offers full size entrees, which are very generous or small plates. Best to make reservations.“

“The Good - Service at this restaurant was excellent. This was a nice diner with a delicious breakfast. The Usual - Add ons are an additional fee - onions with hash browns were .95, for example. The Unnecessary- I did notice the "supplemental fee" for credit card usage. Those fees are just silly because that is the cost of doing business that should be factored into a business budget. We know you're paying to accept credit cards - negotiate with your CC companies instead of adding "fees" to your bills and surprising customers.“
