“Let me first say that I regularly entertain clients at other Capital Grilles, and this was my first time at the Old Orchard location and it was not business. I had two major complaints, the quality of the service and my filet. Our server was a huge disappointment and really diminished the entire experience. It took two requests for a wine list before he brought it over, I've never once had to ask for the wine list at a Capital Grille. After ordering, I overheard the server at an adjacent table reviewing the nights specials, and our server failed to mention two that I would have been extremely interested in. Our server further left us waiting for nearly five minutes after entrees were served to bring our wine, which was ordered when we placed the entree order. And finally, he did not check with us to confirm the steaks were cooked as we ordered them. That leads me to my biggest disappointment which was a bone-in filet I had. The filet was butchered at an angle, meaning that half of the steak would be overcooked when ordering medium rare. Further, it was one of the lowest quality filets I've ever had.. tough and chewy. The steak knife had a touch time cutting the meat. And to cap it off, the meat was not seasoned properly. Normally I have no problem letting the staff know about poorly prepared food, but the only time the server came back was to ask if we wanted dessert. I will not be back to this location. Service is everything.“
