Norsemen Brewing Company Lakeheim

We were there for a birthday party upstairs and there were young children crying, screaming and fighting around the games the entire 2 1/2 hours we were there. Which is directly below where we were sitting. When we arrived around 4:45 I went to the Men's Restroom and there were no paper towels for drying your hands. I informed the bartender they were out. I used the restroom 2 more times before we left and still no paper towels. I let the bartender know each time there were no paper towels yet. When we left at 7:30 and I stopped to use the restroom before we left there still were NO paper towels.

If I could give no stars, I would. I have been to this restaurant several times, my spouse has even arranged a work Christmas party there in the past when it was just a bar, but my last experience was horrible. I will never be going back. I came with a group of four adults, three kids, and two infants. We were sat down right away (it seemed promising and positive) but the waitress come over after about 15 minutes to take our drink orders (understandable due to the lack of staff, so we initially overlooked it). After waiting a little while more we got our drinks and ordered an appetizer. The waitress returned but only to get our meal orders. We ordered full size meals. Once we had our drinks and appetizers, the waitress never checked in with us; not even to tell us if the food we ordered was running behind in the kitchen (I thought would be jus a common curiosity). After 45 mins went by since we ordered our food, I had to go up to the waitress to ask about our food status and all she said in response was that manager “may be willing to cover a bit of our bill.” In which to us that did not matter, since we weren’t looking for free food, we wanted to be served in a timely matter. She also said she’d check with the kitchen staff. After that though waitress never return to our table to give an update on why our food was delayed. After an hour went by since we ordered, I went up to the waitress and asked for our check on for the drinks and appetizers. At that time she said the kitchen had started our food but at this point my group had lost their appetite and were ready to leave the restaurant. I gracious asked for the check again, she bought it to me and I paid in exact amount in cash. I am all about supporting local restaurants, pubs, and businesses in this area because I feel it could be a great area for Topeka but this local restaurant does not care as much about your support or business. It’s terrible to see something have such great potential be ruined to lack of customer service and bad quality management. If you have to pick a place to eat in north topeka, I‘d highly recommend Bradly’s Connor cafe.

My husband & I stopped in tonight & we’re very happy with every aspect of this unique North Topeka establishment. Bartender was very friendly & went out of his way to describe the beer selections, which BTW are excellent. We had a great waitress & every bite of our Swedish sausage stroganoff & meatball & veggie soup was to die for but then we ordered sticky toffee pudding & now we’re in Heaven! Thank you!
