Whiskey Bars in Louisville, KY

“More than I was expecting! As you walk in the doors you are greeted by one of the friendly staff. The showroom has everything a Mitchers fan could ask for: shirts, coasters, books, and of course many of their Bourbon selections. It was a 15-20 min wait to get up to the bar. The host was very polite. When it was my time, the elevator opened as she called me and she said “your chariot has arrived” made me smile. As I came off the elevator I was greeted by Georgia and she showed me my seat at the bar. A glass of water and an assortment of snacks was waiting. The snacks were small pretzel balls, dried bananas, and crunchy quicos. The crunchy quicos (corn nuts) are a must try(see sticker).The first drink I ordered was the Falls of the O-H-I-O Fizz. It was delicious! Frothy due to the egg white, with a little touch of sweet, and gentle burn from the bourbon. The second drink I ordered was the Fort Nelson Crusta. The presentation was beautiful. There’s a whole lot of sweet in this one. The sugar brim was the icing on the cake. Georgias service was outstanding, I can’t say enough. Her and her team are experts at their craft. The setting is very warm and down home. I highly recommend this place if you’re single or on a date. Georgia and her staff will make you feel at home. I’ll be back.“

“The host Ami was great! She explained everything very well and answered all our questions. Would have loved to have a little more time to experiment with the mixing as we kept looking at the countdown clock and felt rushed through that process. Maybe shorten the history lesson and give more time to come up with your favorite mix. Would definitely recommend though!“

“I had an amazing time at Michter's. The tour was informative and the tasting was the most informative and engaging. They are everything bourbon should represent. I'll come back for sure. The bar upstairs has incredible cocktails to enjoy as well!“

“We love stopping into Neat when we are in town. You never know what vintage pours will be available. We always stop to see what they have because they have pours you can't get them anywhere else. We have tried many vintage pours from Neat and it is always a fun stop in the. Bourbon Trail.“

“What a wonderful bar to visit while we were visiting. They have a ridiculous number of bourbons to try at very reasonable prices. The other cocktails were also reasonably priced. I loved all the messages of inclusivity in the bar. Why don't we have bars like this in South Florida?“

“We thought the ambience was good, the food was really good, we were seated immediately, it was a decent value for the money, the only thing that was subpar was the service. We sat at our table for probably 10 minutes before our server came to see us. he only checked on us maybe twice during our meal.“

My dish was the favorite out of both our meals (Sweet Potato Gnocchi). We are not from Kentucky so this was a nice end to our tripVegetarian options: The sweet potato gnocchi is a good choice for vegetarians. They also have salads“

“We found Bucks by accident while staying at the Louisville Bourbon Inn. Live piano performance during dinner in a great, dimly lit dining room. The filet mignon was fantastic as was the service and ambience. Highly recommend Buck’s!!“

“Our second distillery was Angel's Envy, a short walk from Rabbit Hole. The distillery was in a a lovely brick building and I loved the aesthetic. The hour-long tour was $25US and only two samples -- bourbon finished in a port cask and rye whiskey finished in a rum cask. While tasty, I didn't purchase any because Angel's Envy is sold in Canada, but I did spent quite a bit in the gift shop! After the tour, we stopped for a cocktail in the lounge. “Fun times in the hidden speakeasy“

“First time at this bar and my family and I loved it so much! We went early November. Victoria, our server, was the nicest server ever. I am somewhat particular with my drinks, and I didn't really like the first drink I got (dirty martini, light brine with onion) so Victoria happily suggested I talk to the bartender after the bartender said I may not like The Calling Card based on my preferences. I talked to the bartender who was also SO KIND AND PATIENT and we finally landed on a gimlet and it was delish! I believe I ended up ordering three. Everyone that we encountered was so nice, it was the best customer service! Looking forward to going back!“

“We stayed in the hotel and went there on Saturday night for a nightcap after a party and UK basketball game viewing. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were super friendly and could make any drink you wanted. Their bourbon list was huge. If you want to taste high end bourbons, this is your place. They also had a large, more normal bourbon menu which we ordered from. My wife had an Old Fashion, two actually. She said they were the best she had ever had. We had two appetizers. The bourbon, beer pretzel (huge!) and the hummus plate. The beer cheese was really good. The hummus plate was great with pita bread and lots of veggies. All of them had honey lightly drizzled on them. Unique twist and really good. If we get to stay at the hotel again, we would definitely go back there. It's on the Urban Bourbon Trail, we learned.“
