“I had the Lunch Fajitas, and although they were delicious, I thought the portion size was a little small (but it's lunch so...?) Everything else was very good and it is a nice, truly cozy place. The service was good and the prices were not outrageous, so I'll probably be back soon.“

“It’s a minor complaint, but they don’t have sauces and such out for you to grab. They also just hand you a bag of food instead of a tray for dine in. Just doesn’t seem dine in friendly. It’s a nice dining room though. ***added another star: this place has the urinal cake that turns the “water” blue as you aim for it, making it a productive experience. IYKYK“

“"this is the best quesadilla i've EVER had" -my bf after taking ONE bite olla has been at the top of my list to visit for quite awhile and now? it's gonna be one of our go to's for date nights and when friends & fam are visiting we seemed to have gotten here at the perfect time today too because as soon as we ordered and sat down, it IMMEDIATELY filled up (which is always a great sign for a restaurant, right?). i cannooottt wait to come back here. especially during the summer? sippin a grapefruit jarritos & margarita on the patio? birria drippin down my arms? this is gonna be The Spot.“

“This place has a 4.9 rating (at the time of this review) for good reason. The food is always super fresh at a super reasonable price. The owners are great as well. It is both vegetarian and meat-eater friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop by.Parking: In addition to street parking, there is a huge community parking lot behind the building that is free.“

“I don't normally leave high praise as I'm about to, but this restaurant deserves it. Service is quick and there's lots of memorabilia to check out. But the best part was the food, it is made as if someone actually put care into it! Definitely marking this place as a return in our future travels.“

“The real thing! If you miss Mexico and are tired of the corporate chain Mexican food then this is the place to go. More flavorful and more food on the plate than a lot of the little Mom and Pop Mexican places. The atmosphere is very old school, not like some modern restaurant in Cancun. Felt like I was back in Veracruz. Check out this quesadilla.“

“I am so excited that Dayton, KY has a Mexican restaurant! It’s very walkable from my house and has everyone’s favorites on the menu. The space is quite small and good for a lunch or evening dinner. The salsa and chips are always a good factor in deciding whether the place is worth it, and it is. Delicious. Service was speedy and servers were so nice. Can’t wait to go back.Parking: Parking spot is located towards back of restaurant near patio seating.“

“Excellent place to eat. Husband and I ate there for the first time a few days ago. Service was excellent without making us feel like she was hovering. I tried something new (for me) their Pollo Patron. Loved it! My biggest problem going to a Mexican restaurant is getting something with vegetables without having to go full vegetarian so I usually stick with fajitas or tacos. The Pollo Patron was a delicious mix of veggies, chicken and queso over rice. My husband loves very spicy food and their Pollo Diablo fit the bill. We will definitely will be going back.Edit to add: the choices Google had for recommendations didn't list what we had. I would recommend both but beware of the Pollo Diablo if you can't handle super spicy! ?“

“I see some negative comments. I don't believe the reviewers realize what Zapata is about. Frankly, I find it refreshing that dishes are not smothered in cheese and drowning in sauce. Zapata is about combining flavors, and not marching to the beat of the typical Americanized version of Mexican food to which we have become accustomed. I recommend it to all my friends.“

“Street tacos were tasty - Al Pastor (marinated pork with pineapple) was the way to go. Great mix of savory and slight sweetness characteristic of the dish. The Birria was delicious too, but a little salty. Toppings were right on - fresh cilantro and onions. Salsa and tortilla chips were homemade. Super friendly service and smiling faces. The whole experience was great.“

“We went to the aquarium and I was starving and none of the nearby options really spoke to me. So we started walking and ended up here. It instantly reminded me of a neighborhood place in Baltimore, but even better because they sell booze here!I got the flautas platter and a vegetarian taco for me and my daughter to share and we couldn't finish it. It was amazing! Probably the best meal I've had in the Cincinnati area.Don't sleep on this place!Kid-friendliness: They have highchairs“

“It was nice, a bit crowded. There were tables obviously open, but the wIt they quoted was too long, so we ate at the bar. Food was good. But needed some seasoning. Drink were too expensive, but very good (not overly alcoholic) we might go back if we are in cincy again...for the smoked gouda dip.“

“I've had less than stellar luck with more traditional Mexican food in Kentucky. And the ones that have had some level of promise have price tags that don't make sense. Don't expect a never ending pile of chips at San Miguel but you should expect some of the best tacos you've had in a very very long time. If you are craving Traditional style with 2 corn tortillas and a pile on onion and cilantro, this is your place. I took a tour of the tacos with chorizo, langua, carnitas, and al pastor. Hoping to find what they were strongest in if I were to come back. I will be back and I'd be thrilled with any of the above. The gf went with a chorizo quesadilla. I was excited because she rarely finishes a plate and that means I get her scraps! The dilla was pretty large but she said she just couldn't stop eating it. I did get a couple bites and it was perfect. I can't wait to go back“

“This place was awesome. I moved here 3 yrs ago from Oklahoma, where there is a food truck every other corner. So I know my street tacos. Absolutely amazing and I have been looking for a place that serves elotes en Vasa. And they had it and it was delicious. Highly recommend.“

“Cancun Mexican Bar & Grill is a solid Mexican restaurant in a great location near downtown Cincinnati. The service here us quick and the servers are all very welcoming and friendly, the interior of the restaurant is charming and contributes to a fun atmosphere, and the food is great (not the best I’ve had, but still great). I’ll also NEVER complain about free chips & salsa.“

“DEAREST CANCUNI've been walking or driving to your location for over a decade solo or with friends or family or colleagues.I have always appreciated the beautiful service (always delivered with a smile) and being served hot chips with delicious salsa as a welcomed gift while waiting to order is a truly classy move. I'm mostly pescatarian these days, but sometimes I still like to order the steak fajitas with the bell peppers and onions, the beans, rice, guacamole, and warm flour tortillas. It's a nice treat sometimes and it has only ever come out exactly perfectly (to my eyes and taste buds). My own niece absolutely adores this place because of the fish artwork. But her FAVORITE is right up the road by the bowling alley (but only because the fish are "real fish" in the aquariums).THANK YOU, ALWAYS!Sincerely,Christine“

“We were vacationing to visit the Noah's Ark Encounter and my wife wanted a little taste of home so we went with Taqueria Ramirez. We visited the #1 versus one of the other 2 since it was recommended to us. It was a little difficult to find it since it was in the back on the side of a salon attached to a grocery store. We walked in and on one side it seemed kind of crowded with the seating, but the main side had plenty of room and was decorated to give you a surrounding of Mexico. We were immediately greeted by the waitress who was very pleasant and welcoming. My little girl ordered rice and beans, my wife a soup and my boy the Seafood Mochete (he likes shrimp and octopus...this had both plus). I ordered nothing knowing we would have leftovers and that my boy would not finish his. The food was delicious...every ounce. Only a few issues. The price was really high in my opinion all in all. Unfortunately, I didn't get an itemized receipt to know what was charged for each dish, but the base amount was $80. We tipped $9.52 and used credit card to pay which tacked on another $4. Total we paid $94. They offer no military discount.“

“Place just went under new management and I attended a soft opening. The vibe is right. The new owner and service are phenomenal. There's a food truck, outdoor patio, and good tunes. This will be my new favorite spot from now on.“
“A very enjoyable lunch with great food and atmosphere. I came for lunch and it was busy with families and men clearly on break from a work site. My only slight complaint is that while the chairs and benches are wonderfully decorated they are also a little uncomfortable if you want to sit back. You will find sports on the TV and a well stocked bar of liquor. Having my coke served in a bottle was kind of a fun treat as well.“

“This was not my first time at a Hot Head Burritos but it was my first time in a while. The Newport location was fantastic. We had 7 people in our party and we all loved our food. I had a toasted burrito. The sauce that I chose was the southwest ranch and will definitely get it again. Unlike other burrito locations, Hot Head offers a lot of sauces/flavor options. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I am glad that we chose to go there and will become regulars. Thank you for great food and service.“

“This may be the best Mexican food I've ever had, which feels like an exaggeration, but it really was that good. The chicken was flavorful and not dry in the dishes. The rice was well seasoned. The staff were friendly and down to earth. It was just a cozy place to get Mexican and a drink after work and can tell it will be a spot I return to again and again.“

“Having lived in California and Texas for years, I've become skeptical of eating anything called Mexican food away from a border state. However...while El Toro Bravo is more Tex-Mex than actual Mexican, I'm glad I gave this place a chance. The steak and rice I ate was perfectly respectable and very flavorful. The waiters were as nice as they could be. And, it seemed like everybody in the neighborhood was in there, as indicated by how hopping the restaurant was. I'd return.“

“Guacamole dip is a bit lacking on flavor.Cheese dip is thick and delicious.Tacos carnitas are amazing with the dark sauce and lime, but otherwise, would also be lacking on the flavor I've come to expect from carnitas.Steak fajita was good and the veggies were perfectly cooked.Salsa is in house and very fresh!Rice is super buttery...maybe a little too much. Beans are very good and have a rich flavor.Pricing is fair on most things but a few items seem high. The service was impeccable and they are eager to please! The entire restaurant that is accessible to the public is immaculate!“

“We have had dinner here 3 times recently! Always looking for local establishments to support! Highly recommend this one! The servers have been wonderful!! All the food we have choosen has been very good! Every time our son comes in town we try a new place between here and Cincinnati and so far this has been his favorite! He had the street tacos and raved about them! It does take just a little bit of time to get our food however, it is 100% worth it because it’s so fresh and hot and very tasty! please do give this place a try, you won’t regret it!“
