New American Restaurants near Kenner, LA

“We decided to stay in Kenner this year for the Jazz Fest and glad we did as we found Zea!! It hit all my star indicators - very clean, the staff was delightful and the dishes were delectable. Our server, Paris, was knowledgeable about the dishes, shared her opinions about dishes (which I appreciate) and was as charming as the city she is named after. We also chatted with John, the manager and he shared how Zea was created and we could tell he loved being part of the team - as did other team members. Of course we are Southerners so we swap other stories :). As far as the food, Paris helped us pick the perfect dishes for sharing - the Duck Empanada, Asian Ribs (get the 8 as u will be disappoint if u choose only 4), the Pepper Jelly Spinach Salad, with Sweet Ice Tea. To top it off we dipped our spoons into the enticing Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with a tantalizing rum sauce — a must for all future visits. “I stayed here for a night last week, it’s near the airport so it’s very convenient. I went down the bar to get some late night food To-Go, my bartender was super sweet and the restaurant luckily takes Apple Pay! I ordered a burger and fries and it was so good. I wish I got the bartender’s name, he’s an older Caucasian male, so nice you’ll have great service with him!“

“Bf has been raving about this place for years about the Shrimp Ducky. My First time and Came alway from Texas. The food was amazing. I am disappointed in the person at the hostess stand. She was a little rude and not hospitable. We had a togo order due to our dog in the car. We don’t know where to go to pick up the order and it left us wandering the restaurant.“

“I celebrated a birthday at Ralph’s and it was a great experience. The food was excellent, and the service was great. I had the Chicken Cobb salad and a surprise nectar float as part of my birthday celebration! What a treat. The decor from the old New Orleans style building, to the painted murals and white tablecloths was superb. Free street parking out front and a free parking lot in the back is a big plus. A wall of windows gives a superb view of New Orleans city park as well. Reasonably priced and definitely a treat!Parking: Plenty of free, convenient street and lot parking plus valet if you choose.“

“Great experience. Food was excellent. A couple of us got Steak Frites medium rare. It came out perfect temperature. Brisket with Brussels sprouts were delicious. Steak Caesar Salad came out perfect as well. We had bread pudding to finish off the meal. It was a perfect meal to celebrate a birthday. Service was excellent. Highly recommend.“

“We were here on April 20th for brunch, from Toronto, Canada! We were so pleased with the hospitality, tasty brunch and professional service by the manager (distinguished gentleman) and waitstaff who accommodated us as a group of 10 for my bachelorette! We are so quickly we didn't get a chance to take pics, but the goblets (they were huge!) of bottomless mimosas made into the photo reel. Thank you for a great experience, we will be back!“

“This was our second time coming here! The alligator and etouffee dogs were really yummy and unique! Better than any normal hot dog. The etouffee fries were a bit too liquidy, and they could’ve put more meat, but we still enjoyed the concept. It wasn’t worth the $7, but it’s definitely something worth trying once.“

“Went there Saturday night and stayed till close. Chris was our bartender and although they were super busy he was always there when needed. He recommended a great aperitif to finish the night based on our preferences and was an overall great experience with food and drinks!!! Only my second time going (first in 2011) and need to go more often when traveling to NOLA.“

“I was born on Jefferson Highway and after eating the amazing food here I can happily die of a food coma on Jefferson Highway. Portions were very surprising in their generosity. “I visited the location on Ponchatrain in Nola last night _ I will NEVER dine in late at night - The host was outside playing with the managers dog in the parking lot - She walked in the side door and greeted me picked up the menu and NEVER sanitized or washed her hands. The server complained about it being slow- My food came out cold- The manager on duty last didn't care- They put my side dishes in the microwave They served me the same cold chicken I sent back and just put it on the grill for a few minutes. Horrible customer service experience and the quality of the food was worse.“
