“This is exactly the type of place I love to discover. Neighborhood gem, no frills., affordable. Cuban sandwich- excellent, fresh bread, tasty pork, huge portion.Bread got a bit greasy when pressed. I dabbed a lot off the sandwich with napkins. Sandwich should be pressed with no oil. Hot tamales- I was today years old when I learned of Mississippi Delta/New Orleans tamales. Previously, I was only familiar with Mexican tamales. They were tasty. Observed people eating the Daily Special- spaghetti and meatballs. The portion was massive on a platter. They cleaned their plates! There was a steady line of customers getting food to go. They sold prepackaged slices of king cake. I Liked being able to try different bakers versions by buying slices. The recipes are all so different. Also picked up a packaged lemon hand pie. Felt nostalgic from my childhood. Friendly, courteous staff. They kept dining area bussed and clean. Great price and value .“
“The food served is very good. The facilty could use a cleaning. I took it upon myself to wipe down my table prior to my order being ready. The table surface appeared dull from age, but two wipes from my clean napkin revealed the table had a brown residue. as I stated earlier; the food is excellent; but for the extremely high prices they charge, (1 small, 1 large shrimp poboy, 1 large onion ring, 2 medium drinks $42.00 for lunch) there should be clean tables. Oh.. .one more thing have your drink vendor (Coca Cola) change out those old dingy 2019 LSU and Mardi Gras banners. Again... the food was good! $42.00? If you're looking to "take out", that might be a better option. Unfortunately, doing that won't give you that fresh-out of the kitchen tasting food. $42.00??“

“Prices at Mr Roos are modest for well done, classic sandwich's, salads and hot plates. They have all your friend favorites but can get grilled versions of fish, shrimp and oysters too. I like that! I had the grilled shrimp Caesar salad. It was 9,50 and had big grilled shrimp, fresh lettuce, lots of cheese and a tasty dressing. The hot plates look tasty and fresh.“

“We spent some time in the French Quarter and decided to try a couple different spots to find the best sandwich we could. The fried shrimp poboy from Verti Marte blew all of the competition out of the water. The place feels unapologetically authentic, and the staff was friendly enough to give us some recommendations on where to get a good muffuletta sandwich (they were out of the bread) and what their favorite beignet spots were. Overall we highly recommend.“

“Absolutely loved this place. We spent a week in the Garden District and would have eaten here every single day had they not been closed Mondays. It's a great spot to grab a quick breakfast/lunch while on the way to other adventures. Can't go wrong with any of their sandwiches/bagels. AND they have Utz potato chips! Great music and staff is awesome. They were also on the St. Patrick's Day parade route.“

“Always a great greasy spoon spot to eat. Great food and even better service. We visit at least 3x every time we are in town. They never disappoint. My wife gets an omelet and I get a poboy. Always great! I'm told by my wife that the biscuits and English muffins are the best in town due to the butter then cooked on the griddle.“

“Welty's used to have its own place in the CBD but is now in the food court of Place St Charles. But don't put it in the "food court" category. It's a classic deli, with a very distinct NOLA vibe. The sandwiches are LOADED with meat, and very good. I haven't had any of their specials - I go there when I want a corned beef or pastrami sandwich. Actually, yesterday it was their California Club, which as great, and I should not have eaten the whole thing all at once. I always dine in, and I always love listening to the interactions between the staff and the customers. It's a bit odd to be in a "food court" and hear so many "Here ya go my love" or "Hey baby, where you been?" with almost every customer being treated like long-time customers (which, apparently, many of them are). I swear, I think every sentence I hear either starts with, or ends with( or both), a great term of endearment. Everyone working there seems to really love what they do. Seriously, if you closed your eyes, you'd think you were sitting in a neighborhood diner. Being on the 2nd floor of an office and retail building, it's easy to forget about, but if you're looking for a great sandwich and some love, this is your place.“
“We ordered a muffuletta and a chop salad. The salad was fresh, delicious, and great quality. The muffuletta-YUMMYYY!!! They make a really nice muffuletta, I mean you have to try it!! I split the sandwich and the salad with my boyfriend and we were happy and full at the end. Service was nice. We placed a call in order so we could just run in and grab it so I'm not sure about the ambience inside. We took ours to-go and ate it in City Park- a lovely little lunch.“

“3-29-2024, stopped in today for lunch. We had the stuffed Millerton w/ broccoli and rice and cornbread dressing. Excellent as usual. Also, the pot roast with souffle spinach and grilled brussel sprouts. Excellent. I only complained about this place is so “

“I have patronized World Deli for years for in house meals and to go. I have also depended on them for catering for special events and holiday. They have never failed to supply fresh, delicious food in a timely manner. One of my favorites is the ham dressed on po-boy bread with a side order of their wonderful potato salad. The restaurant is immaculate and the employees are friendly and hard working. I highly recommend it.“
