“Beautiful area, but the soup is always very salty and it gets really busy. It's best to order online and pick up. They do have a lovely patio but with fake grass :/ and it's usually crawling with kids and rarely an adult.Parking: Not many spots and is usually full“

“These are the most fabulous tacos I've had in years and their only peer in New Orleans is Casa Borega. Skillet fried soft corn tortillas full of fabulous beef and fillings. I tried three sauces the red arbol the red tomatillo and the guaca salsa. All were delicious but the red arbol is what spicy should be. Enough to make you sit up and take notice but not ruin the rest of your meal. This is way far from my house but I will be back.“

“The food at Mawi is so fresh and tasty. I’ve just recently been introduced to this restaurant and I’ve eaten her twice in one week. On top of having really delicious food at a fair price with generous portions, the owners and staff are above and beyond friendly. They take great care in preparing the food and maintaining a comfortable and clean environment! This is a very casual establishment - no fuss, no frills, just authentic goodness! Order at the counter and have fun taking your choice of table in the dining room. I’m a fan, would recommend a thousand times over and will continue to frequent this as a new go to eatery!Vegetarian options: Several dishes you can do without meat - just choose beans as your protein.Kid-friendliness: Casual environment you can definitely bring your kiddos to. Lots of seating options to accommodate all sizes of humans!“

“We stopped at this cute little place on the way back home and they had plenty of ice cream and snack options. We LOVED the churros, they are so fresh and delicious we ate it all before we could get a picture but we highly recommend if you do give this place a try. My son enjoyed his super man ice cream. My mangos with chamoy & tajin was also good.“

“It is absolutely a real Mexican culinary experience. I go there at least once a month. Depending on who's taking your order (unless you speak Spanish) you might have to point to what you want on their menu. And with minimal sign language and a few awkward minutes waiting, you'll definately be impressed by the food.Parking: Parking sucks bc jerks next door won't let anyone in, it's an empty, unoccupied building!“

“If you are expecting run-of-the-mill TexMex, this isn't your place. The creations here are quite flavorful! I ordered the smoked pork nachos and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The rocks house margarita was also unique and delicious. The place is very large and spacious. Parking is good and they also have a nice patio with outdoor seating. I will be coming back.“

“I love this place. Their food is delicious and I honestly don't understand why they aren't as busy as they should be ALL THE TIME! Their best items: fish taco and the shrimp flauta! TO DIE FOR! literally melts in your mouth! Also queso, guacamole and salsa - all delicious and the Mexican pizza! Get it all.“

“Your first impression of Habaneros (in Metairie) will be the sign that says, "This must be the place." While it takes continued food consistency and outstanding service to maintain and build on positive experiences, it takes an all-hands-on-deck effort combined with a great deal of professionalism (and some luck) to turn around a negative one. After a negative experience in March of 2024, where we encountered slow service and a lack of attention to detail, we decided to give Habaneros a second chance visit (to err is human), and we are thrilled that we did. The transformation in staff and leadership was remarkable, breathing new life into the establishment. Not only did we return for a second visit, we elected to parlay the positive experience and returned on Mother's Day. Here's how our experience went:Our first return visit was on Saturday, May 4th, 2024, the afternoon of the Kentucky Derby. We chose to sit outdoors in the patio area, and the Management graciously fulfilled our request to watch the Derby in a display of their accommodating nature. We were delighted by the unique flavors of the frozen happy hour margaritas, particularly the raspberry and mango. The Queso Fundido (Queso with Chorizo) was a standout, a perfect blend of cheese and spice that left us craving for more.On to the entrees:We had the Verdes Enchiladas, a flavorful dish with grilled chicken, and the Quesadilla, which was generously filled with shredded chicken and a variety of cheeses. We followed up with Coffee and dessert. The staff's recommendation of the flan, a baked custard dessert topped with caramel (similar to the French version of crème caramel), was a delightful discovery. The sense of intrigue and excitement in trying these new dishes was truly invigorating. Our server, Eddie, was a true professional, highly knowledgeable about the menu and spot-on in meeting and anticipating our every need. After receiving and paying the check, we requested to speak with Management as we felt it was important to share the significant turnaround in our dining experience. We learned that our server, Eddie, was training other staff members, which is a testament to his skills and the positive changes at Habaneros. Also, it quickly became apparent that the new management was a big part of the positive differences we experienced at Habaneros. Our Mother's Day visit went smoothly and was just as impressive as the previous visit on the day of the 'run for the roses' event, where we enjoyed margaritas and an added surprise found in the shredded chicken taco salad. The answer to 'this must be the place' is rhetorical. The next time you find yourself in the mood for some vibrant atmosphere, with its lively music and colorful decor, infused with great food and culture, head on over to Habaneros in Metairie . . . this is the place!“

We had a very enjoyable lunch time.“

“Awesome restaurant with delicious tacos and quesadillas. One time my Uber driver stole my order and when I went to pickup the food, Tacos del Cartel remade the whole order on the house! The inside decor is amazing and cozy for couples on dates!“
