The veal Marsala was amazing. Unfortunately they ran out of spumoni but the experience was great!

Very DisappointingBefore the pandemic, we came to this restaurant every time we came to town. Last night we were delighted to go again to this old favorite. The place hadn't changed in appearance, but the service and food were a big letdown. We ordered a large Oyster Oreganate appetizer and the dish was warm on the surface and refrigerator cold in the middle. Our entrees were veal picatta and that night's special Trout Almandine.I like capers but the veal picatta was completely overwhelmed with them. It was all you could taste. I ended up separating capers off to the side and the result was an entire 2 oz bottle's worth on the plate. We expected the trout, a delicate fish, to be sauteed. Instead, it was deep fried and overcooked. Our waiter was slow and indifferent. When I told him about the problems with the dishes, he just walked away without a word . At the end, he cleared the dishes and left us with water glasses, waiting while he settled the neighboring tables split bill and doggy bag. (The waiters only other table). 15 minutes later we finally got our credit card to sign. The restaurant was overly air conditioned cold and when sitting at the padded bench for the table you sink into the seat until your knees are just hanging on a rail. I had to switch to a hard chair. We will no longer return to this restaurant. Hopefully, they will return to their previous standards.

Just a great experience all around. Classic Italian food with a Louisiana flair. I had the veal. Top notch cocktails, especially the Old Fashioned.

The marinara sauce was as good as any I have had in Sicily. The service was outstanding. Ask for Sue. Don't pass up the spinach and artichoke soup. Their cappuccino topped off one of the most excellent Italian meals I have ever had this side of the Atlantic. Felix Famularo

Was seated almost the moment we arrived. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. As always the food was good. The only problem I had was that the red sauce and mushroom sauce was a little too watery for my taste. Overall, it was great. Well worth it.

Everything about this place was amazing from the food to the atmosphere to the staff. We were first greeted at the door by the owner who was very welcoming and accommodated us accordingly. Our server Laurie was awesome and was on time and punctual with all of our dishes. We started with the oysters and they were amazing. Being a fan of seafood and oysters I was extremely happy with my dish. We then moved on to our entrees witch were the chicken picatta and the gamberi Gagliano(which is named after the chef and his family) both were exquisite and meticulously made where all of the flavors came together. And lastly we had the tira misu which was homemade and was bursting with flavor. The lighting and music were perfect with a full bar and great wine selection. Everything about this place was fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone looking for great Italian in the Metairie/New Orleans area!

This place is a hidden gem. Locally owned by a neighborhood family, who are extremely nice and accommodating. Food is always fresh and delicious. Real homemade cooking. Will go back!

Food was excellent, service was very good........... Until it came time for the check. It took about as long to get the check, CC run and returned, as it took to eat our food. An aggravating end to an otherwise nice dinner....

Superbly prepared cuisine and attentive service -- from bar & wait staff. Filippo's is one of our favorites. Our out of town guests raved about it and can't wait to return!

Noisy, Crammed, Overpriced/Greedy, Awful food! I was looking for a nice Italian restaurant to celebrate my birthday. After looking at the menu online and reading some reviews I decided to give this place a try. When making the reservation I specifically noted it was for a birthday celebration. Parking was a headache. Very few spaces and nothing available in the surrounding area. Be prepared to walk. Hostess was nice and quickly sat us down. Place is crammed and extremely noisy. Wine is of the cheapest quality and overpriced. Food was bland and presentation was poor. Eggplant was soggy. Caprese salad was nothing but wet iceberg lettuce and a runny balsamic vinaigrette. Veal parmigiana was basically nothing but breading. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. Sauce was a sweet sugary disaster. I have never been more disappointed. They give the illusion of being a classy Italian restaurant but far from it. On top of the overpriced menu they will charge you an additional fee when you pay with a card. Service was good but would of been great if they would of realized it was a birthday dinner and instead of bringing a cannoli with a candle she brought a dessert menu trying to sell us more food. Overall one of the worst experiences. Don't come here if you want real Italian food.

We went there to celebrate one of my son's graduation from LSU Medical School. They put us in a private dining room without requesting same; this was a wonderful surprise to me. Philip and Mary the owners were very personable, kind and spent time to visit and get to know us; very heartwarming experience!!! The food was excellent; everyone in our party raved about the food they experienced and enjoyed!!! The service was also very good. We will definitely go back, and likely become regulars!!!

My husband and I had dinner last night at Flippo's restaurant in Metairie. As always, we are never disappointed. The food was top-notch, and the service was prompt and attentive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here! Great staff and ownership. Some of the best Italian food in the metro area!

It was our first time being seated upstairs and the noise level was much better than downstairs. The music was great. My date loved the fish and my eggplant Parmesan was better than average but not great. We saved room for dessert as the cannoli I had last time was exceptional. This time the cannoli filling was too runny and my date's spumoni was almost soft serve. That was very disappointing. The server made a comment about the freezer having a problem. Yikes!
