Shogun is so great restaurant. I love Shrimp tempura appetizer including grilled shrimp. I also love fried rice and rice patties. The manager is so nice and friendly. Service is great and polite.

4 Shogun is an old school Japanese American Hibachi grill & Sushi eatery. According to one of the workers the original owner aged 90 years with no kids sold it off recently. There are 4 hibachi tables with a full dining room and sushi bar. It's a locals establishment that's lasted for decades in the community of Metairie. As of my visit in May 2024 - It's a little run down but that's what gives it character. It's not the cleanest either. The building in general could benefit from a good pressure wash in and out. If you're bougie and looking for a gold experience, you should pass. If you're looking for a legend with imperfections to enjoy a laid back experience , you'll be satisfied?. It is a product. Please make reservations to secure a seat in the building on weekdays and evenings.Vegetarian options: You can order the soup, rice, vegetables with no meat.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly

Wish I knew the hibachi wasn’t great tasting before spending $400 on 4 kids 2 adults. Steak is low grade and chewy but the worst was your charge for hibachi rice (extra $5). Hibachi rice should be included considering all it is is fried rice. To up charge For something that is included in every other hibachi restaurant in America is a bit ridiculous. Id rather go to gyu kaku and have amazing cuts of meat and cook it myself. Cook was entertaining that was the only positive.

Stopped here after marching in the Metairie Road St. Patrick's parade. We had two larger groups and were starving. Atmosphere was good. Service was good. Food was good. We did hibachi. The chef was excellent. Did all the tricks and entertainment was good. Overall liked the place.

My go to place for sushi, Udon anything, chicken oyakodon, salmon box are some of my favorite. Reasonably priced. Always fresh. Look for their specials. Never had one bad tasting item in the many years I've eaten there. Owner and staff greet you like long time friends. Unlimited hot green tea. Highly recommended.

Trustworthy source for hibachi, tempura and sushi with a broad menu selection. Ask for Bubba, the waiter, who will provide exceptional A+ service!

Shogun serves delicious fresh sushi. My husband and I went there for lunch. I asked him when we left, when do you want to eat here again. He answered, tonight!! Toschi is a master!!

Starting off they don't have sweet tea. Truly don't understand how in south Louisiana sweet tea is not an option. Chef didt put on a show at all. Very nice but no show I mean nothing, no chooo choo no volcano not a thing .The food taste is the exact same as other hibachi options. The price is THROUGH THE ROOF! Def not worth the extra expense Final thought, over priced

We ate at Shogun last night for my birthday, and we had a really nice time. The atmosphere of the restaurant, the quality of the food and the amount of portion for each dish was very generous. The hostess greeted us when we arrived, and seated us immediately. Our waiter was excellent as well. Highly recommend this restaurant! Shogun is a staple in Metairie everyone should try once!

THE best Japanese food in the area. For lunch or dinner, it's fantastic. They have a great, and very large, selection of delicious fresh sushi and the hibachi is so good. I love the hibachi salmon and chicken. Yummy!

I wrote a review like four years ago I finally came back. It was a lot better service and a lot better food too. Has some ups and downs at moments but so does where else. I would return to this location though.
