“Just wow! Long time vegan who travels the world and US trying vegan places and everything we had here was the best we’ve ever had!! Nothing compares to plant based organic, most vegan food these days is wildly unhealthy but this place was truly legit.“

“Amazing Event Cakes — We had a formal event this weekend for which Bywater provided our cakes. The chocolate peanut butter was to die for. The other cake was not what we ordered but we loved it just the same. If you need a cake for any occasion, we highly recommend Bywater Bakery.“

“The first time I visited, the case was empty. Sold out. So I came back and it was worth the visit. I purchased 4 different items so I could taste test. The London fog twist with pistachio and the potato/cheese croissant are amazing. The cinnamon roll wonderful.Vegetarian options: Plenty of meat free choices and vegan cookies.Wheelchair accessibility: Nothing in New Orleans is “accessible” because there are no curb cuts or automatic doors.“

“I am a sucker for a macaron shop, and they are hard to find! I was so happy to stumble onto this one! The most beautiful shop with even more beautiful desserts! The macarons were expensive - $28 for 8, but the more experience leaned higher end. I was surprised to see the beautiful presentation of the macarons upon purchase. The shop keeper was incredibly nice & the macarons were perfect!“

“If not the best coffee shop in NOLA, I’m not sure what would come first. Be sure to chat with the owner who is a wealth of knowledge on things coffee. Highly recommended.“

“I bought their guava and cheese king cake this week, it was delicious! I liked that it was NOT drowning in icing. Just the right amount to add sweetness without going overboard. I think guava was also an excellent choice for a filling. I would definitely recommend. I also picked up a couple of empanadas, they were also very tasty. I am interested in trying some of their other baked goods.“
“Our king cake arrived yesterday. It is so deliciously fresh and instantly transports you back in time when your mouth would water all day long waiting for the teacher to cut up the class king cake. Thank you for sharing your talent.“

“We just came back from France again and I was complaining how much better everything is over there. Standards down here in nola are extremely low so when I go somewhere I don’t expect anything special in regards to customer service “you won’t get a hello or thank you most the time”, and the food isn’t nearly as good as people think it is. Nor is it priced accordingly for the quality. I find everything pretty meh down here for the price. However, with all the negativity there are a few positives. Bellegarde and their euro sandwich. Currently sitting at 6.50 it’s a normal deal considering in France they were around 5 euro. Bellegarde’s baguette is one of the best also in the city. I rank it up there with breads on oaks in terms of crust, quality and taste.“

“The Royal Cakery nailed both our wedding and grooms cake. We showed them pictures to mix together and they understood the assignment. The cakes themselves were absolutely delicious too and kept their freshness for days! I will be using them in the future for birthdays, etc.“

“They make a great king cake. It has a traditional feel, but fresher and better than most traditional spots. The dough reminded me of a Hawaiian roll and the cream cheese was sweet. It was delicate and basic and perfect. It is more expensive than I want it to be, but I could say that about every business on Magazine street. I got the cream cheese and almost everyone at my party asked me to text them the name of the bakery.“

“Best Breakfast Quiche If you're lucky enough to catch them open this casual spot has amazing hand made pastries and quiche. The owner is there daily doing the baking. I've been a regular at this spot for the last 5 years. They're consistent at what they do. Even the vegetable quiche is outstanding. It's a cost friendly alternative to the crowded breakfast spots downtown. If you're there at 1:30-2:00 they give away the day's unsold pastries to customers...“

“I absolutely LOVE this bakery. I'm not vegan but I'm definitely hooked. My favorites are the brioche donuts, especially the lemon curd and Boston creme. Best donuts I've ever had anywhere! My coworker loves the cinnamon roll with raisins. We have also tried the avocado toast scramble and it was delicious. We plan to work our way through the menu each trip.“

“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. There’s even a couple of open windows where you can just stand and look out and feel the breeze while you’re waiting for your food. I wish that I lived closer so that I could go there every day.“

“Y'all. This is THE place. Out of all the spots we tried while in New Orleans, this was by far the best and our favorite! I loved their grits and what they had to offer dessert-wise. I tell any of my friends who are visiting NOLA that they will always find a tourist restaurant around any corner, but they'll only need to find this place once to know they struck gold. My only regret was not coming back a second time before we flew out!“

“I'm not a donut fan myself but I was immediately confronted with a wide arrangement of donuts to select from and not a single one in my dozen was bad. They all had different flavor profiles and served their theme, I was pleasantly surprised at how innovative a donut shop could be! The server couldn't have been more helpful truly great service!“

“Food was AMAZING. Bagel had PLENTY of cream cheese and was slightly burnt (in a good way) and very crispy but still soft. Everyone working here was super sweet and helpful. The focaccia is a lil more firm than most I've had, so if you're looking for a super soft one be warned this isn't it. It is still amazing and tasty, so don't hesitate. The croissant breakfast sandwich (custom made) was fantastic as well. My Ollady had the ham n cheese croissant and she said it was amazing. It's a very simple setup inside but it's not too loud and it's overall pretty chill. This was one of my absolute favorite places while visiting, so don't miss it!!!“

“What an awesome gem that we found on the way to the Jazz Fest. Located in Mid-City, the building and the restaurant has been around for a long time. We arrived at 10:30am and had a yummy roast beef & gravy po boy on the best bread I have ever had on a sandwich!! The venue is set up for community and it was clear that all are welcome. Even in the morning, the staff was friendly and inviting and the locals and tourists were coming by for great food, drinks, and a good time.“
