“What an awesome gem that we found on the way to the Jazz Fest. Located in Mid-City, the building and the restaurant has been around for a long time. We arrived at 10:30am and had a yummy roast beef & gravy po boy on the best bread I have ever had on a sandwich!! The venue is set up for community and it was clear that all are welcome. Even in the morning, the staff was friendly and inviting and the locals and tourists were coming by for great food, drinks, and a good time.“

“From the moment you step into Chemin à la Mer, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance. The restaurant's stunning riverfront location provides breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. But the true star of Chemin à la Mer is its exquisite cuisine. The menu features a delightful array of French-inspired dishes, each prepared with meticulous attention to detail and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite was the quiche, which is undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. The buttery crust, the velvety custard, and the perfectly cooked bacon harmonized in a symphony of textures and flavors that left me speechless. Our server, Mandy, was an absolute delight. Her warm smile, attentive service, and genuine enthusiasm for the restaurant's offerings made us feel welcomed and valued. She expertly guided us through the menu, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring that our every need was met with utmost care. The other breakfast items we sampled were equally impressive. The omelets were fluffy and flavorful, the pancakes were light and airy, and the fresh fruit was impeccably ripe and juicy. Each dish was a testament to the chef's culinary expertise and commitment to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. To top off our exceptional dining experience, our daughter received the utmost attention from Mandy. With her engaging personality and genuine love for children, Mandy made our daughter feel special and entertained throughout our meal. Her kindness and attentiveness were a true reflection of the restaurant's commitment to providing exceptional service to all its guests. Thank you, Mandy, for making our experience a lovely & memorable one.“

“Cozy ambience with a unique, delicious drink menu. They also offer their kitchen to local food businesses, and the Asian fusion one there when I went was phenomenal. Donavin makes a wonderful drink called “Thank You for Being a Friend” with Louisiana run, almond, passionfruit, and smoky amaro – must try! I was in town for the Home + Garden Show, and Barrel Proof was the perfect unwind!“

“Good food and inexpensive In the garden district. I had the loaded tots and smash burger both were very good. Probably the best hamburger I’ve had in New Orleans. My friend had the Caprese sandwich and pork grinds she also enjoyed her meal. Great spot to grab a bite to eat. Not a lot on the menu but what they do have on there they know how to cook it.“
“Excellent music, good (and cheap) drinks, chill and friendly atmosphere.“
“I go to Le Bon Temps often and they have some good music. They also have FREE oysters on Fridays but they go quick so you need to get there early! They have a kitchen that serves food and they have some good burgers here. The bar is divided into 2 main areas with the front being full of pool tables and the back where the bands play. This is usually a really fun bar to watch music until the point that it gets too crowded, which is way too often, but you always have the front area of the bar to escape to. The back area, where the bands play, can just get miserably crowded especially on Thursday nights when bands like the Soul Rebels play (it also is a bad "tradition" that the Soul Rebels NEVER start on time so it is like 12:30 or 1am before they start usually so if you have to work the next day that really is a challenge). There are also some people that take their pool games WAY too seriously in here and I've seen a few fights break out over a stupid game so don't get in those folks way. Parking can sometimes be a bit of a challenge but if you get far enough away you can always find a spot. They usually have pretty quick bar service and I usually prefer the front bar when there is music as it is quicker to get served than fighting the often formidable crowd in the back. There is always an interesting crowd here and there is a special plaque on the bar involving a historical person that I will let you discover yourself (maybe further down in this review even). There always seems to be something going on here when it seems nothing else is anywhere else in the area. Overall this is one of the best classic dive bars and music venues in the entire New Orleans area. FYI: This is yet another of the bars that claims the notoriety of having had Lee Harvey Oswald as a frequent customer. You can go to YouTube and search for NOLA Gent to see my video on Le Bon Temps Roule!“
“I was really impressed with the friendliness of service here! The bartender and the guy at the door. I came here to celebrate my birthday with a large group of friends after having an horrible experience across the street and they were able to accommodate us with room and allowed us to bring in my birthday cake. Everyone was happy. The plus was there were pool table in the room we were in. I’d highly recommend this bar to have a few drinks and chill.“
“Stopped infor the first time yesterday and couldn't believe what I have been missing! I had the BEST Bloody Mary I've had in years, and the frozen concoction they were serving tasted like heaven. We will definitely be making this a regular stop.“

“When I’m on my deathbed and asked if there’s anything in life I would have again, it would be Erin Rose Bar’s Frozen Irish Coffee in an absolute heartbeat. As a tourist, don’t expect for the locals to be chummy with you, as they’re there to do their job and keep the pace going. Stay for the drinks and enmesh yourself in the atmosphere, but BY GODS there is a reason the best cocktail bartenders in the world rave about this place. Don’t.?? Even.?? Hesitate.??“

“Great wee pub situated at the final corner of the Charles Street streetcar route. Doesn't look like much from outside but inside is great old fashioned bar. Food was excellent and freshly cooked. I had several Blue Moon beers but there was a lot more on offer.“

“Go to the Rusty Nail for exceptional bourbons, knowledgeable, friendly staff, great prices & excellent service... it's well worth would it takes to find it. Also they have a 25% off whiskey Wednesdays!!! Wife and I happened to get there b4 opening on Wednesday. One of the staff ladies took us around inside to show us what Bourbons they had available. Treated us very very kindly...!!! Went back later after a terrible experience at Barrel proof and we just sat there for about 2 hours and enjoyed ourselves. When we get back to New Orleans we'll be back!!“

“The best neighborhood bar I’ve ever been to, it’s a great community, everyone is very welcoming. A lot of neighborhood spots you walk in and it’s like the record skips and everyone turns around. Not Pete’s! Speaking of records they have a vintage jukebox with great broad selection. It’s old school, nobody paying extra to skip ahead of you, no one playing the same Drake song on repeat. Drinks are very affordable with a modest but well rounded selection. They have pop ups most days it seems so if your hungry there’s usually a food option. Word to the wise if it seems locked it’s just cause you gotta get buzzed in. Be patient, it’s worth it!“

“The Chandelier Bar is the most beautiful hotel bar downtown. Okay, there are a few places that will give it a run for its money, but this has got to be among the best. The drinks are also 5-star, perfect concoctions, every time. If only it were easier to get to and to park, I would give it six stars...“

“I have been going to this play on Sunday for 2yr. When I tell you I have meet the most friendly and lovely people. They include me in their circle, party events and etc. They even knows I drive from Mississippi to hang out and goes back home afterwards. A lot of the workers have given me they number to call or text to let them know I made it home safe. Now this is what I call good people. Thx for allowing me in your establishment..“
“It is a great place to listen to some Jazz bands. The space is not that big, but enough to see when someone is playing. There are no tables, just the bars. The service is good and they take good care of you. They have some draft beer options and I liked that. I really enjoyed this place.“
“Have been a Chart Room patron for many years. It's pretty much a plain ol' bar with great juke box and veteran bartenders serving typically strong and inexpensive drinks. About half locals, half out-of-town visitors, most of the out-of-towners being frequent NOLA visitors. At one time I suspected that a few of the regular characters were sent over by Central Casting, but have been going there long enough to now know they're genuine. A recent ownership change, but based on my last visit, no discernible (to me) change.“

“Fabulous restaurant in NOLA! I had the gumbo, which was great, and my husband had the redfish that was out of this world. The place is quiet and cozy, and the service is fantastic. Our waiter, who was also one of the bartenders, was helpful, hilarious, and personable, plus he made great drinks. Would highly recommend this for a delicious meal in a cozy, but nice dive bar atmosphere.“

“The Ahi Tacos were the best of what we ordered. The crispy shrimp remoulade was very good, no real sauce to it but good. The crabmeat beignets were ok but very doughy, almost overwhelming. The atmosphere is very casual and the views are wonderful. Our drinks were very well balanced. Great stop for date night!!!“
“Loved this bar!We had heard about this unique bar prior to our trip so we decided to make an effort to check it out and we’re so glad that we did! These guys have ALL the Christmas lights and they are strung up everywhere inside as it’s their only form of lighting. The staff were super relaxed and the vibe is awesome with a mix of locals and travellers (like ourselves) and everyone was made to feel welcome. We loved the concept and will definitely be back next time we visit NOLA!“

“For a quiet afternoon or evening great place to hang out“
“This is a very nice venue for jazz to say the least. There's not a bad seat in the house and the acoustics are amazing! There's a fully stocked bar which is available before and during the show and it adds to the ambience. Of course, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra (NOJO) led by Mr. Adonis Rose was astonishing. This was my first visit and I traveled from Baton Rouge to hear the all-star show. It was definitely a treat because I had never heard China Moses live and she's jazz royalty as the daughter of the great Dee Dee Bridgewater! It was quite a show and based on the musicianship and the surroundings, I look forward to hearing some great music there again.“
“I love the The Friendly Bar. The drink prices are reasonable and the staff is amazing and love the locals. Just think of CHEERS.“
“Roadside local bar. Decent offerings, short on staff, no kitchen. Out of Sazerac Rye, Bill the barman gave us his riff. Wish I knew what he put in it, as they weren't Sazerac's, but really tasty. One drink & out, so, not the best judge.“

“Easily my favorite bar in New Orleans. This place represents all the iconic things of being a New Orleans drinking establishment: a cool historic space, locals intermixed with visitors who *actually* know what's good in New Orleans, not stuffy with both high-end and budget-conscious offerings, talented staff that can make virtually any cocktail (serious cocktail, that is.). One of the biggest selections of NA offerings in the city including NA beers, NA cocktails in cans, and now THC/CBD seltzers. Bingo most Thursdays. Kind of in the heart of a lot of cool stuff including Congo Square and Armstrong Park and steps from Bourbon Street and other attractions.“

“The nice man behind the counter was very chill and patient with my frazzled stepmom, which I super appreciate. I slightly regret being on a diet cuz the larges were unexpectedly on sale, but my bellini is really really good! I'll probably try their take on The Incredible Hulk next time“
“Great vibes. Musty smell, but added to the vibes. Pool table and darts. Stage setup for live music, but none was playing tonight. Right along the river so a great place to stop if you’re in the area or going for a walk. Quintessential Algiers.“
“The atmosphere here is unbeatable. I rarely enter spaces that look very designed and curated and this is one of them.( My mama was an interior decorator, for context) I would love to just casually hang out with friends here anytime. Real goth vibes, gorgeous artwork, interesting, Taxidermy. Low lighting, soft, plush, furniture with matte black walls enveloping it. The bar tender was very nice and the bathrooms were immaculate. A rarity in this city! (The bathrooms I mean)All in all I can't wait to come here when I'm not performing. I genuinely look forward to it.“

“I forgot to finish my review and post it. My husband and I were in NOLA for the first time, we were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, in August 2023. I have a gluten allergy and it was difficult to find authentic NOLA food that was gluten free. I am so glad I found Atchafalaya Restaurant!! The food was absolutely fantastic and they had several gluten free options! Our waitress was amazing. The restaurant was very cute inside and had a lot more seating than it looked like from the outside.“
