“From the moment you step into Chemin à la Mer, you're enveloped in an atmosphere of refined elegance. The restaurant's stunning riverfront location provides breathtaking views of the Mississippi River, setting the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. But the true star of Chemin à la Mer is its exquisite cuisine. The menu features a delightful array of French-inspired dishes, each prepared with meticulous attention to detail and bursting with flavor. My personal favorite was the quiche, which is undoubtedly the best I've ever tasted. The buttery crust, the velvety custard, and the perfectly cooked bacon harmonized in a symphony of textures and flavors that left me speechless. Our server, Mandy, was an absolute delight. Her warm smile, attentive service, and genuine enthusiasm for the restaurant's offerings made us feel welcomed and valued. She expertly guided us through the menu, providing insightful recommendations and ensuring that our every need was met with utmost care. The other breakfast items we sampled were equally impressive. The omelets were fluffy and flavorful, the pancakes were light and airy, and the fresh fruit was impeccably ripe and juicy. Each dish was a testament to the chef's culinary expertise and commitment to using only the freshest, highest-quality ingredients. To top off our exceptional dining experience, our daughter received the utmost attention from Mandy. With her engaging personality and genuine love for children, Mandy made our daughter feel special and entertained throughout our meal. Her kindness and attentiveness were a true reflection of the restaurant's commitment to providing exceptional service to all its guests. Thank you, Mandy, for making our experience a lovely & memorable one.“

This was a special business dinner and all the guests were super happy with their meals, the space provided for us was the PERFECT set up for a group our size and I think other restaurants could learn a lot about how to accomplish the what they did - rather than one long table, we were in a square and ALL of us could interact with each other. Lastly, we had one server and he NEVER skipped a beat. I would recommend this restaurant to all and I'd love to go back next time I'm in NOLA.“

Very talented musicians. My friends loved the chicken n waffles… I took a more traditional option which was the bacon, eggs and grits! The creole grits were wonderful! I need that recipe ?. I wish they had an option to add a side of toast or muffin without having to purchase an entire basket of assorted bread. Other than that! You have to try this place!“

“Busy little place with an incredible ambiance. We were actually walking there and one person in our group said "oh that building is so cool" and it turned out that was the very place we were going to. I'm from Charleston so am no stranger to a fried oyster but never had them Cajun fried so I went with the Bahn Mi. The seasoning wasn't necessarily over the top Cajun but the combination of the seasoning and the other sauces made for a good flavor profile. The oysters were good. The spring rolls were ok. Katharine wanted to go with something light. They were light and served as good vehicles for peanut sauce and hoisin sauce!“

“I really cannot say enough about this place. The ambience and decor are beautiful, they’re playing authentic French music which you would expect, but what was not expected was the incredible truly French food. I knew the chef was not French by birth but you’d never know it. The escargot were perfect, garlicky and not salty, the bread is amazing, so was the pain perdu, I would like some brie on the charcuterie board but the board was amazing, and the substitution of mushrooms into a traditional boeuf bourginon to make it vegetarian y’all is genius. My son thought he was eating meat, it was so hearty. We can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu, although I will have to prep myself because the bartender pours with a heavy hand and makes a great French 75! ❤️“

“Our celebration lunch got off to a bumpy start. We were running late (graduation festivities), and then when we arrived, we had an extra person. The staff were accommodating and made room. I appreciated that. Then it got bumpier. Our first waitress was not at all in the mood to serve OUR table. She didn't introduce herself. She told us about the specials and then forgot we existed. We sat there for 15 min with no engagement from her. I told myself it was due to the busy time. We had to flag her down to get coffee. Then, when my husband was seated, she didn't ask him or our other guest if they wanted anything. When he tried to wave her down, she said one minute and 10 minutes later - nothing. So I called her when she was doting on another table and she disdainfully said "one minute" and I said hurry up. I am not proud of that response. However, I was taken aback by her finger waving condescension. She made a face, but of course, it didn't matter. She decided that when we sat down, she was not going to serve us. So I let the manager know that my party was down to 2 options. We leave, or we get another server. Thankfully, the manager - who I didn't get the name of - found a delightful server, Juan. My table immediately commented on how the entire mood shifted like night and day. From that moment on, we had a great meal and great time. The entire experience on a special day was saved by Juan and his service. The music was great, and I appreciate so much the grace he treated us with, and the meal was fantastic. Thank you.“

My cousin said the burgers were pretty average. But that they had really good buns. Also, the bisque didn't have much of a seafood flavor. It was more just a corn flavor. Great service.“
