Purchased tickets to attend the New Year’s Eve event here for $250 and it was a total rip off! The original invite indicated there would be a DJ, who never showed up. It was also supposed to be catered with amazing food, but all we got was pasta, greens, shrimp étouffée with hardly any shrimp, red beans, and rice and rice pudding. Additionally, we weren’t able to eat off of normal sized plates. We were given tiny dessert, plates, and bowls instead. I spoke with a manager about the DJ, and she said “something came up”. The only music playing was through the overhead speakers, and, it had zero New Orleans flare. The upstairs location had only five high top tables, and the outside balconies barely had any seating at all. There was also nowhere to dance. The bartending staff was fantastic, but unfortunately the event itself wasn’t worth anywhere near $250. Very disappointing.

Picture in comments! My mother was served raw oysters with a large amount of hair in one - then could over hear kitchen staff shouting that they weren’t giving her another platter, after sending it back - when the only reason she didn’t notice immediately was because each oyster was covered by a lemon wedge. Mambos then sent over a different server from the original, who asked her and my dad if they wanted two more since that’s what was remaining. They were celebrating their 32nd anniversary & after the oyster situation my mother was too afraid of what might be done to her food if she sent back the crawfish etoufee she ordered that had ZERO crawfish in it. Appalling to say the least & this site isn’t allowing me to upload the picture, but we have posted elsewhere via Facebook & will be reviewing elsewhere, as well. The way this situation was handled is disgusting after already being more than disgusting.

A wonderful experience in the place of experience’s. If your coming to Bourbon Street, make this a must do on your list. My Sazerac was spot on, and the food was authentic and very flavorful. Full on the food or not, you will be amiss if you don’t try the bread pudding. I also Don’t want to forget to mention the great service and the very friendly staff as well, they really made our first time visit to New Orleans a great one. Just wow!!
