“There are not many places in New England where one can get authentic German (and to some extent, Scandinavian) food. This is the best I have found in Massachusetts. It is mostly a "buy and take home" deli type place, although I believe they do have some hours when they operate a cafe to dine on site. Their deli and bakery items are authentic, though. Just like I remember having when I lived in Germany years ago. If you live in MA, and are craving real German food, this is the place to go.“

“Battlegrounds is a cool little coffee shop right on the heart of downtown Haverhill. They have all sorts of fun coffee flavors and their own beans for sale. The baristas were very quick and friendly, and the atmosphere is a typical cozy coffee shop with couches and tables to choose from. We loved that we were able to sit on the couches by the window and watch it snowing while we drank our coffees (which were nothing too special, but were still good). We would come back here again if we were in the downtown Haverhill area.“

“A huge thanks to Cookie Monstah for the ability to rent out one of their trucks for our daughter’s and son-in-law’s Welcome Party the night before their wedding, Memorial Day weekend. They allowed for them to make their own combinations of ice cream cups/cookies and to name them - the names were based on the neighborhoods where they had lived in the North End. “We regularly get takeout here. Affordable prices, decent food, what's not to like? If you can get mediterranean from anywhere else (Falafel King in Boston, Adea's in Salem) then do that instead. But a gem for Beverly nonetheless. I eat here happily. I've never been inside the store, takeout only so I can't speak to that.“

Their veggie open sandwich on homemade pita bread is so SUPERIOR. Fabulous ingredients, large, fair price. Pizza DELICIOUS crust. Got caramelized onion, ricotta, eggplant cutlet. Sooooo tasty. “Pomodori saved our wedding!! Our original catered cancelled last second, literally an hour before we were serving lunch. I called Pomodori’s and they came with absolutely delicious pasta and pizza to serve our guests! Everyone was raving over the food and we cannot say enough kind words about Zach and the rest of the staff! They were so kind, helpful, delivering to us and saving the wedding!
