“This was our 3rd time at Elia Taverna. The food each time has been outstanding. We started with yummy zucchini and eggplant chips with tzatziki. My husband ordered the lamb shank, I had chicken skewers which came with the most delicious pita. We also had a side of Briam (vegetables and potatoes.) We brought some of each home for dinner the next night so we could enjoy a dessert. Do not skip dessert! We shared a luscious Ekmek Fataifi (shredded phyllo, milk custard, creme fraiche, toasted almonds.) There was live music the night we were there, a gentleman playing a keyboard and clarinet. That added a lot to a great evening! We will be back soon.”

Blue Canoe Cafe 14 School St, Marblehead Cafe • $

“My two favorite foods sound boring to some, but I can't help it -- I'm a savory food kind of person. I love nachos and I love BLTs, and it's amazing how many places have managed to not do these two things well. I have never been able to find a place that can make a good BLT, until now!I needed a quick lunch today and went here on a whim because it was close by. I saw they were closing soon, but there were people inside so I headed in. Sometimes small, local coffee shops can feel drafty or unkempt or just lifeless. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I'd want to sit there for hours. The temperature was just right, and the ambiance felt friendly and warm.I acknowledged that they were closing soon and asked if I could still order a sandwich. They replied in a way that felt welcoming, and not like I was imposing on them (which some places, 15 minutes prior to closing, would have). I ordered the BLT and used the restroom while I waited. Even the restroom was pleasant!I sat in one of the two window bays on a comfortable stool (again, perfect! sometimes they're way too high for a 4'10" to get up on, or off), with a complimentary cup of water (I love when cafes have serve yourself water). One of the servers brought my sandwich over and even on first glance I could tell it was going to be good. No wilted lettuce, no weird bread, perfect amount of mayo and bacon. It was the best BLT I've had at a restaurant, even better than I make at home. So, 5 stars for great ambiance, friendly, unrushed service, and a great BLT! I have no doubt that their other food is just as good.”

“We hit all the recommended places our first couple days in marblehead, we continued to search for additional experiences to try. Our last afternoon we found this little place within walking distance (as most places are in marblehead) and reviews seemed good. Luckily they weren't busy so we didn't need a reservation at that time. After entering we were happily surprised by the decor and menu options, yet somehow we were even more surprised by our appetizers and then our entrées. After being told at another place our first night in marblehead that no restaurants served bread pudding, we ordered two when our server told us they had it (and they fresh and delicious). Had we been in town any longer we definitely would have returned to try some other options. We plan to be back in the area in the spring and we'll be making sure we have reservations.”

“We have been frequenting Plus Café for both breakfast and lunch for over a year now and what keeps us coming back is not only the food but the entire staff. Everyone comes from service oriented Mediterranean countries, which gives the place a nice European flavor. The staff and the owner are all quite enjoyable to deal with. Oh, try the Marblehead Stacker sandwich. You could feed a family of four on this thing, and it's amazingly delicious!Vegetarian options: Various salads, bagels, muffins, wide selection of pastries, and we found the friendly and helpful staff are more than willing to help you build your own meal to order.Dietary restrictions: Vegetarian and vegan diners should not encounter a problem. The overall theme is Mediterranean so you're looking at healthy eating.Parking: Parking is along both sides a long avenue that runs in front of several shops and the café.Kid-friendliness: Kids are not a problem and we have seen many come and go. There's even a high chair, but we can't honestly attest to the quality of the pablum!Wheelchair accessibility: The café is on one floor with front door access at sidewalk level. Wheelchairs therefore welcomed.”

“Mino's is one of those great standbys for when you don't know what to make for lunch/dinner. The food is always fast & fresh. I'm a big fan of their Greek salad with grilled chicken and my other family members like their pizza and Philly cheesesteaks. A great local restaurant when you just need a fast and easy meal.Edit: I go to Mino's about once a month for years and have never been ill from the food, never questioned the food safety or cleanliness, and never had a sour experience with the staff. I wouldn't let one bad review sully their reputation. This place is always busy at the usual lunch and dinner times. Mino's has regulars for a reason.”
