“Hands down our favorite restaurant in Salem. The atmosphere is incredible, service is always top notch and the seafood is the best around town. The crab and lobster are the best. We stop here multiple times each trip. Highly recommended!”

“It's hard to put into words how truly heavenly our experience at Settler was. We were a party of five and talked about it the entire night, and all through the next day, because from start to finish it was absolute perfection. You cannot beat the service or the perfection of the food. Service wise--the staff works as a team, thoughtfully stowing away coats, bringing by complementary shots of fresh lemonade, placing dishes, clearing crumbs, checking in... we were never in want of more assistance, or wanting for less assistance. They struck a perfect, delightful balance and were incredibly knowledgable and kind. Then the FOOD! Each dish (and we ordered most of them) had us dramatically whipping our heads about in utter amazement as each flavor burst in singular and blended delight. It was incredible to witness the intense focus and professionalism in the quiet kitchen near our table, and to be feel like we must be ROYALTY to receive such a phenomenal meal. To cap it off, we ordered every dessert item, and cleaned the plates. Our server even tucked my mother-in-law's takeaway bag somewhere out of sight so we wouldn't feel subconsciously pressured to leave by its presence. I'm just blown away by their overall culinary talent and thoughtfulness and skill.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free friendly for one of our guests! It was perfect!”

“Notch Brewery and Taproom in Salem is a must-visit for beer enthusiasts. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, perfect for hanging out with friends enjoying beers and playing games. The brewery offers mostly Czech and German style craft beers, each brewed with care and attention to detail. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, always willing to recommend a new brew or answer any questions. Plus, the spacious taproom provides ample seating, making it easy to find a spot even during busy times. Unfortunately the weather did not allow us to enjoy the outdoor seating. Keep in mind that they do not sell beer flights. Overall, Notch Brewery and Taproom is a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy some great beer in Salem.”

“This has been my favorite new spot since they opened. The ice coffee is amazing and the staff so warm and welcoming . I accidentally left my wallet there today and they found me and reached out to me. I’m so grateful they went above and beyond . 10/10 recommend them ❤️”

“I don't know how to describe this place. Then top tier hole on the wall mexican food. You would not expect this out of where its location is. But this is by far the best place to get El. Pastor tacos and berea tacos. Don't be afraid to order anything here. It's all very very good. Extremely polite staff and everything is top to your quality for a reasonable price. Never be afraid of stopping here.”

“Kokeshi is in residency with Bambolina (a wood-fired pizza joint, also delicious) and it's perfect! My husband and I (and our puppy, Dexter) stopped in for lunch on Wednesday and were treated to a wonderful meal with an awesome server and comfortable outdoor seating. I had the Spicy White Kimchi Ramen and my husband had the Margherita pizza. Both were amazing! I highly recommend stopping in when in Salem!”

“We had the best experience yesterday at Olde Main Street Pub. We sat outside and it was great people and dog watching. We started with the curry fries, which we had never had but the server encouraged the choice..it was delicious. I had salmon with summer succotash and my husband loved the curry so much, he ordered the veggie pub curry with chicken. Service was fantastic, very friendly, polite and informative. “10/10 Five Stars All the Accolades We had a group of 20- 13 kids and seven adults- and our service was TOP NOTCH. They seated us together right away. Brought our food out together and quickly. Understood that we had picky kids and worked with us every step of the way. The food is amazing. The cocktails were cute. The kids had root beer floats, so it was fun for them, too! I always come back because of their food, but their service has made this a staple of mine for every trip to Salem from now on!!”

Perfectly cooked pork with a rich but not to "blue" cream sauce. Plenty of food for dinner plus the leftovers which will be lunch this weekend! My vegetarian wife ordered the leek and mushroom ravioli and she was in heaven too. Lastly if you are a fan of German Hefeweisen beer, grab the Tucher, prob the best authentic Hefe I've ever had!”

They made me feel very welcome. The third was the food. It was so good, I ordered a second plate. The beers were cold. The music was pleasant (soft jazz), an atmosphere you don't want to leave. “I'm a big fan of Mei Lee's beef lo mein. I'd go so far as to say it's the best I've ever had. It's tasty, has fresh veggies that flavor it well...celery, onion,beansprouts, sno peas, mushroom, slivered carrot for color. The beef is marinated, tender, and flavorful. Theirchow mein has all the right ingredients, but I wish it was chopped up,more finely....that's simply a matter of taste, though, not a reflection on the quality of the product. I've tried a few other items...wonton soup is good...boneless ribs sweet and tasty, Don't know much about the rest of the menu,msince I go for the basics for takeout. If you want good old Chinese takeout, try it....you'll go back for more.”

“Why this place doesn't have at least 4 stars is beyond me. The bartenders are amazing, definitely the biggest selling point on us going three times in one day. The view is incredible and the drinks are good but the staff is the best! I think I ordered at least three apple cider mimosas which are one of my favorites as well as a few autumn mules. We did not eat at The Roof but it was pretty quick to get a seat at the bar. Next time I am in Salem I will absolutely be back.”

“Pastries are delicious! We got the hazelnut buttercream, the pistachio (forget the name), pain au chocolat, and 6 macarons. Totaled around $35, which is expected for high quality pastries.The pain au chocolat was perfectly flaky and had a good amount of chocolate. My 1.5 year old loved it too. My husband loved the pistachio pastry. It was very light and fluffy. I loved the hazelnut buttercream, the flavor was so delicate yet so rich.The macarons we got were tiramisu, peppermint, rose, earl grey, lavender, and chocolate. I've only tasted the peppermint but it was delicious.We went around 4:30pm so not as much to choose from, probably because they were closing soon, but we were happy with our selections. We'll be back for sure when we are in the area.”

Their steak & cheese sub with onions is also incredibly yummy. It’s a small business that recently opened up and I eat there nearly every day and sometimes twice a day. Everyone was served their pizza, salad, French fries, soda and cookies within minutes! BUT, the tarter sause has changed for the worse.The tarter sause tastes like it went bad.BRING YOUR OWN. It ruined the clam roll I ordered. The staff is aware of the issue but no plans to change.”

“Cute place, not as stylish as some city cafes, but that highlights that the focus is the food not the look. Every single food thing here is phenomenal. They're known for impeccable breads, though coincidentally the pastries are flawless, and the croissants aren't even too "bready". They rotate their selection-- we get about 12-14 items maybe once a month, and every single one is a knockout every time. Their coffee is also very good. The only improvement would be the service. I think there hasn't been a single time I've gone where they've actually gotten our large order right. Most recently, two bacon egg and cheeses were left off the receipt and just never made. This didn't detract from my rating though. The service is still kind and quick and the food quality more than makes up for it.”

The main guy at the register was very nice and there was another taller guy who also was helping. The worker who remade it made it wrong again, missing the cheese and onions this time. So by the third time I did get the correct item ordered. They were super apologetic and I know mistakes tend to happen. Three times is a bit much but other than that, food was good, place was clean and when I did get the correct food it was good and fresh. Asides making sure to read all orders carefully, it was good.”

“Enjoyed eating lunch here with friends while visiting. I noticed immediately that the space is smaller, which makes it a pretty tight walk around. Even with a lot of customers the noise level was not to loud. I was disappointed when there was a set of 8 of us and they said we needed to sit at different booths. Eventually we asked if we could move to the side with a booth/table combo so we could all sit together. The waiter was not so happy. The food then was divided by the two tables (not pushed together) and then brought out at very different times. When half of the table had their pizza the other half didn't. Once they had finished then we received ours. The menu was pretty confusing due to the lack of explanation of what they all offer. It does give the description but it doesn't adequately show what they serve as specials or explain it. Turns out after we ordered we found their "march madness" wall that had all the pizzas we could order but would have had no idea what was on each one. The pizza it self was very good. It was not over done and a well rounded pizza. I think it's something I'd eat once but not say it's a "must have" again since IM NOT a huge pizza person.”

Getting to the place Can be... different. If the front door is locked you have to go through the back and ring a doorbell haha it has Pool and darts and you don't have to pay for either. Also has poker games on Sunday and Wednesday”

It does give the description but it doesn't adequately show what they serve as specials or explain it. Turns out after we ordered we found their "march madness" wall that had all the pizzas we could order but would have had no idea what was on each one. The pizza it self was very good. It was not over done and a well rounded pizza. I think it's something I'd eat once but not say it's a "must have" again since IM NOT a huge pizza person.”

“I picked this place out ahead of my trip to Salem because of the reviews and it was even better than I expected! I ordered the Forest Mushroom Pizza and I loved it! It really hit the spot after a 2-hour walking tour. My partner got the Margherita Pizza, which he enjoyed as well. Fast and helpful servers, clean bathroom, nicely decorated. It was a nice surprise. I'd love to come here again.”

“Eggs cooked exactly how I wanted them (not a fan of runny whites), which not many places do. The bacon was nice and crispy, and the home fries were well seasoned. The corned beef hash/swiss omelette was a nice big size and could probably feed 1.5 people. Nice cozy location right in the heart of Salem downtown!”
