“Tried to order carryout from the 3-coure meal menu. Told that the items on the 3 course meal were not there. Tried to order filet of sole and salada da Horta. Seemed like bait and switch“

“The food was wonderful and the service was excellent. I went for an early Mother's Day dinner on a Saturday night and there were people at the bar having their own good time, but the space is set up well and it didn't impede on our dinner. Great for any vibe“

“The craft cocktails and mocktails are good. The sweet cream butter that came with the bread service was delicious. The baked alaska was outstanding! But overall the flavors of the dishes are quite muted, relative to their cocktails. I think I might have been better able to taste the food if I'd just stuck with water. Our server was phenomenal, though, and the environment was so elegant. If I were to go again, it would be for the drinks and desserts with good company.“

“I’d recommend this place just based on the food itself. I had calamari and a regular lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was delicious! But the staff is what made Georgetown Seafood special. Right when we walked in (out of a huge rainstorm), a staff member put a towel by the door for us to place our umbrellas on while another staff member immediately found us a table to seat our big group. They took the time to make us feel like VIPs, even down to the extra treats they offered to us after our meal! The place is small, has steep/narrow stairs to the upper level (where the bathroom is located), but even with that I would 100% eat here again and again. Thanks Georgetown Seafood for a wonderful experience!!“

“We were celebrating a birthday, and asked for a quiet table, and we were seated in the Wine Room, and it was perfect. We shared a calamari appetizer, and had halibut and crab cakes for the entrees. We shared key lime pie for dessert, and the restaurant provided a special birthday dessert. Service was excellent, and the food was delicious.“

“The ambiance and food was immaculate! Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and made appropriate food recommendations for our party. I enjoyed the Shrimp Thermidor as a starter and Cumin Lamb as my entree. They were both delectable, I can't say one was better than the other. I'm ready to go back!“

“The food was absolutely amazing. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The atmosphere was perfect. The only reason I gave it four stars was due to price. Our meal was over $500, including the tip. I'm so glad we went but will probably not go back due to that.“

“Our waitress Isabella was so wonderful and sweet! We came for my brothers 21st birthday and she gave us amazing service! She was so good about our allergies and special requests. The food was good, seafood tower was really nice, scallops and risotto was quite salty. But the steak ravioli that Isabella suggested was amazing!“

“Dined in for mother’s days and my mother loved the place, location atmosphere etc our experience was almost perfect. We spoke to the owner and he let us know his favorite appetizers and entrees and we took each recommendation. Even tho this is a Mexican restaurant i tried their Lomo Saltado and it was great the entree was full of steak, they didn’t try to fill my plate with loads of vegetables like most places do. ? percent will return“

“Saw a description on the website and wanted to try it. Got the ceviche vuelve a la vida as an appetizer. It was a meal in itself and so amazing. The citrus was perfect along with the spices. Also ordered the parrillada for 2 and ended up taking it to go. Margaritas were also good. Service was amazing and attentive. Can't say enough great things about this place.“

“This review would’ve initially gotten a 3 star review due to the host giving my partner a dirty look upon arrival (blonde white woman with a bun), however our wonderful waiter, Eric H., completely elevated the experience. He was very attentive and engaging, made lots of conversation and made our first visit a pleasant one. We’ll be on the lookout for him upon our next visit to The Capital Grille.“

“Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“

“The food here is AMAZING. I'm actually glad this place is far from me and on the expensive side because if it was closer and cheaper I'd be eating here constantly. My table got the waygu egg rolls, Mac and cheese, broccolini, Hawaiian steak, jerk crab cakes, and the jerk lollipop chicken. All of it was on point. Drinks are pretty expensive for what you get. That was probably the only disappointment. Music is a little loud for my liking but it is a minor nit in an absolutely amazing experience.“

“Great placement highly recommend.Come here for lunch occasionally, always impressed by the service, atmosphere, and food.ServiceThe hostess was excellent, but what makes it special was as we were waiting for her to return (after she had just seated people ahead of us), the phone at her desk started ringing. Not missing a beat, she answered and politely put them on hold, and then seated us! Yes!!! Finally someone who understands you don’t answer a call and start talking when you already have customers standing in front of you of you! Our server Kelsey was also outstanding, introducing herself and taking care of us quickly and efficiently, very polite…kudos to her and the business!FoodAlways very flavorful and a wide variety of choices. The two of us ordered one lunch special of meatball and baby kale flatbread with asparagus soup, and a Maui Tuna Crunch salad. The flatbread was amazing, the sliced meatballs very flavorful, and the asparagus soup excellent. They do offer a gluten sensitive flatbread if desired. The Maui salad was also excellent, with perfectly seared tuna, but had a very large salad portion. Only small down was my wife asked for the dressing on the side, and it came in two separate very tiny portions, maybe a tablespoon each at best…for a huge salad. Had to ask for more, and our server again brought two more tiny portions, which was then enough. Not sure how it would have come if we had not asked for the dressing on the side, one seemed to be for the tuna, the other for the actual salad itself. Either way, very good, but a very large salad, a bit too much for lunch.Again, very much enjoy coming here. Will I come back…absolutely!Would I recommend …most definitely!“

“This was our second time visiting Giovanni's Trattu. The restaurant is very small with approximately 50 seats, so reservations are a must. We visited mid-week at 6:30 (with a reservation). We were seated immediately upon our arrival. We were a party of 2. We ordered garlic bread, we split a Caesar Salad, we both chose the Chicken Parmesan, and we had the Spumoni Bomba for dessert. The garlic bread was a bit bland. I would pass on that next time. The salad was good. But the Chicken Parmesan was one of the best we have ever had. Definitely a wonderful choice. And the Bomba was great as well. It gets busy and with a small family run restaurant they get a little overwhelmed. The service was good and the people are friendly. Make this one of your stops when in the area!“

“The meal was exquisite. The dishes were well presented, creative and delicious as well as showing upon rather generous, dare we say it, North American portions. Our server (and others passing) was/were fantastic but we did sit at the bar and not at a table. This was a choice that we consciously made because we were celebrating our 19th anniversary sans children. Intimacy. A few reviews complain about price or the lack of selections on the menu. All we can say is: post-COVID prices have gone up significantly but that is true for everything that we, as a community, consume today. It might be harder to stomach the price increases for discretionary expenses like a fancy meal. In any event, please do not expect 1980s or even 2019 prices. Secondly, yep, it is pricey, but it is worth every centime. The "limited" menu is what really good restaurants do, not to gouge you, but to spoil you with a core set of dishes that will tantalite the palate of almost every true gourmand. NUE hits the mark rather well. Finally, one kink in the armor, is how food is served today and how waitstaff interact with customers. Partly caused by the clash of generations, e.g., servers and the served may have 30 to 40 years between them, partly because due to COVID the new wave apparently did not get to learn from the OGs who did not return to the hospitality business sector, and is likely partly due to the pace of life in the DMV as practiced by folks with maybe too much money. That service process part needs to be ironed-out, but it is not just an issue at NUE, but at most, if not all, DMV fine food establishments. We, for one, will be back to NUE very soon. We just need to save up for it and we won't have to wait a year.“

“Best French restaurant in DC. The prices are spot on for the food, and to be honest the quality is higher. The service and staff are beyond incredible and accommodating.Get the crab fries. Next time I’m doing the seafood tower too. I didn’t take photos of everything, but it was all fantastic. The deviled eggs, yum! Crunchy, full of flavor, and one order is not enough and the bacon was perfectly crispy and not too salty on it.I was set on the short ribs, because French food is all about the sauce and proper temperatures, but I went for the burger. I was not disappointed. It was a smash style burger and cooked perfect. The dressing on it and pickles balanced it nicely. My friend did the cobb salad with salmon. We both had two glasses of wine, and the house wines are actually good here. I can't believe I'm typing that, but they did a great job selecting them. Skip the trendy French bistros and restaurants and head to Parlour Victoria. You won't be disappointed.Came back two weeks later and it is still amazing. Love this place.“

“Bar Spero was exceptional. Far more a restaurant than a bar. Though drinks were also brilliant. The bartender Savi proved a knowledgable mixologist. If you enjoy mezcal I highly recommend the Dead Lady cocktail. The drink was smoky but well balanced and smooth enough to be dangerous. However, the drinks were only a prelude, the true fire of Bar Spero is the food. Our meal was a delightful, delicious, delectable multisensory feast.Everything was amazing from the cucumber, herb salad to the burnt cheese cake ice cream. However, my personal highlight was the seafood. I'd recently returned from a beach trip and assure you everything tasted catch of the day fresh. The raw oysters were some of the best I've had. The grilled octopus was sweet, tender and cooked to perfection, it's sauce, a squid ink reduction only emphasized the utter genius therein. Though all the seafood from Jonah Crab Rice to the Tuna Tostadas to the Ember Roasted Scallops were unforgettably delicious. The food could make a convert out of me and will out of you.Our server Blithe was personable, humorous and attentive, without hovering. Her table service was impeccable and she clearly loved her job. Though really all of the service was noteworthy. The communal feel of Bar Spero made it feel like a family. (I love that tips are split front to back of the house)It was an honor when Chef Jason came to out to our table to greet us. This man is an artist, his work practically brought me to tears of joy repeatedly.Do your self a favor and go to Bar Spero, you will thank me for it.Dietary restrictions: I am gluten free and found many options on the menu.Parking: It took a few minutes looking but we found parking in front of the GAO“
