“My review of the food is 5 out 5 stars. I enjoyed the Mediterranean Flatbread very much. Creative ingredients, nice presentation and delicious! The cafe is very a comfortable atmosphere where you can have a nice conversation and they do not rush you out when you’re done. Unfortunately, my friend who was with me did not have a good experience, but I’ll let her write her own review.”

“This place is an 8.5 or 9 out of 10 but it's better than the sun of its parts. We ordered a good selection of food and it was all good. The ambiance was good, chill, the service was prompt and attentive. Presentation was immaculate. The fish was really spectacular and tasted great. Soft, beautifully sliced, and no sticky slimy to be felt. Can especially recommend the white Flint roll, very creative blend of flavors and textures. The only complaint is that the nigiri construction could be better. It was too little rice to the point where the fish to rice ratio felt skewed and the necessary support under the fish was not present. There was also no adhesion of fish to rice, leading to the nigiri falling apart often. Maybe a small dab of wasabi or slightly stickier rice will remedy the problem. Still a great sushi restaurant and worth a visit.”

“The best kept secret in Kensington!! This cafe is wonderful! A historic gas station turned into a cute cafe where people can work and visit. The coffee is sourced from local roasters and the make all types of coffee and tea drinks. The selection of savory and sweet pastries is awesome. Cesar The cafe manager and his staff are dedicated to customer service and making you feel welcome!!”

“The food was outstanding This is a top-notch bakery with a Parisian influence. Enjoyed a delicious, ham and cheese croissant took home dessert which included a ricotta pear pastry, pear and almond tart which was absolutely fantastic.”

“We went there for lunch today. We were happy to see how diverse the menu is. We each got a glass of wine and I ordered the Soft Shell Crab in a corn 3 ways sauce. The wine was a big red and the crab was enormous. The sauce was very well thought out and delicious, a perfect pairing with the crab. My wife got the mushroom risotto. I was impressed that the chef used Maitake and trumpet mushrooms in the preparation. The portion was quite large. The wines they sell are fairly priced and they have ratings on some of the wines.”

“It's a Subway, so no atmosphere, no decor, but the place was super clean -- possibly close to closing time at 4:40p on a Tuesday. Easy parking in this large strip mall parking lot. I purchased two foot-long chicken and onion teriyaki sub combo meals, which included a small soft drink and choice of chips or a cookie for each meal. No other patrons in the store at the time, so very quiet, and the gal who helped was quick and pleasant... particularly when my newly-downloaded Subway App had to be re-downloaded to get it to work. But, as this was my very first time scanning from the Subway App, when I was told by the employee the scanner was ready I apparently held my phone too close to the scanner face because it didn't scan until I pulled my phone away in frustration...then, it beeped as scanned. But the store employee watched me as I kept trying to scan with my phone right up against the scanner and I even said it's not working but she didn't suggest that I was holding my phone too close. Also, when I asked to instead provide my phone number to get points -- because when I initially signed up for the rewards program, it stated that my phone number would suffice for in-store points accrual -- the employee indicated that wasn't doable. As the only staff member at the counter, she didn't seem like a new employee -- she certainly knew how to make the subs and ring up the combo purchases -- so, it could be that some additional scanner and rewards program training/information is needed. However, to rectify the scanning problem, she might have consulted with the other employee in the back, who passed through the front for a second when I first arrived at the counter, especially since they weren't busy. And, to add to the experience, both heavy foot-longs were placed in the same bag, which handles broke off and the thin paper bag crashed onto the rain-soaked ground spilling out the chips just as I reached my car -- those flimsy paper carry bags aren't strong enough to hold two foot-long subs, which should have been placed in separate bags. Anyway, though a few frustrations, when I finally got home, I thoroughly enjoyed my sub.”

“I'm not going to lie. This is probably my 2nd favorite restaurant to go to. The food is really good and like any other restaurants, their small fries are enough to feed 3 people! The orders are fairly quick, and I have always loved how you can get free peanuts whenever and how many you please to get. The only con I have is that their burgers are pretty expensive... to get 2 burgers and small or regular fries, it's like 20 bucks. Otherwise, everything else is great!”

“I picked up pastry last night, and wow, were they delicious! The shop is beautiful with a wide variety of sweets and breads, and I received a friendly greeting and great service, too. I was missing the previous bakery to occupy this spot, but Potomac Sweets will fill a need for a local bakery with lovely European style bakes.”

“Donut King saved the day for me today! I was in search of Wi-Fi for an important work meeting after my power went out due to the snow storm. I decided to walk 1.5 miles in the snow to the Starbucks nearby only to be turned away as they were only taking drive-through customers. Thankfully I decided to walk around the corner and found Donut King was open with free Wi-Fi! The employees were so nice and friendly despite the cold. I ordered a cappuccino and logged onto my computer just in time for my meeting. My coffee was hand delivered, along with several donuts on the house, which turned out to be the only food I had for much of the day. This was an unexpected and delightful treat. Thank you, Donut King, for making my day!! I hope others will read this review and give this place a try. The food is great and the warm and welcoming atmosphere is hard to find these days. This is a neighborhood gem!! Please support local businesses and give this place a try.”
