“This was a nice deli to stop at; we are from out of town so it was nice to stop for some fresh food close to the highway. The gentleman was extremely polite and helpful as well. He helped me find what I wanted and got us our food quickly as well. We tried the shrimp cheesesteak with the apple juice. Everything was delicious and fresh! I highly recommend!”

“Just discovered a gem nearby. I ate at Kandahar on 36th Street. It is owned by the previous general manager of The Helmand. What a delight. Most reasonable prices and the food was excellent. The last few times I went to the downtown location it wasn't as good, I now know why. If you haven't been there, I promise, you won't be disappointed. 5 stars”

“I was treated to a birthday dinner this past weekend at Rooted Rotisserie and I must say everything about this establishment was 20/10!!!!! The ambiance was beautiful. I love the familial atmosphere and the beautiful photos of the owners’ families. The music was wonderful and brought me back to my childhood- with the old school Ghanaian music. Now… THE FOOD. BEYOND Delicious and I have been raving about it nonstop. The flavors were perfect and the presentation, beautiful. For appetizers, we started off with the wings and shrimp plates. I had the Salmon for dinner and loved it. My table also had the braised short rib, duck confit, Mac and cheese, and braised greens. Everything was perfect and paired perfectly with our sorrel/lemonade carafe.This has, by far, become one of my favorite restaurants in the DMV and I will be looking for any and every reason to go back over and over again. To Amanda, the owner: you and your family have created a gem! Thank you for being such a gracious host and creating such a wonderful space!”

“We stopped by on a recent Saturday eve, foolishly hadn’t made reservations, and the place was packed. The awesome Host that night was kind enough to take pity & got us a table within oh, 15 minutes or less, and apologized to us for the “wait!” Food was fantastic (Bauernwurst & Falafel and of course potato pancakes) and the beers matched the food. Our server was great as well, for a busy night we never had to flag her down for refills or anything else’s. Cant wait to go back & try some other dishes!”

“I was on the way to lunch and saw a coworker of mine's walking to Terry's cafe. At the time I didn't know he was going to Terry's cafe, I picked him up he took me there and I ordered my food. My favorite is the shrimp quesadillas, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of the menu items. I understand the churros are a favorite too, though I’ve not personally tried them.
