“Best staff around and best food“

“I scheduled a Celebration of Life event on Wednesday afternoon July 13th, reserving one of the 2 private rooms that are available for gatherings. I gave a $100 deposit which was later subtracted from the total bill.. so there was no charge for the room. The large room holds up to 100 people, we were in the smaller room, having a guest list of 23. My guests raved about the food and our server Rebecca. She did a Great job, very attentive, and friendly. Thanks also to Jackie, and the rest of the staff. Kudos to the kitchen! The Salmon and Chicken Marsala were very popular that afternoon and cooked to perfection. Thank you Aspen for making my event so special!! My comment to Donna, the manager, you can certainly be proud of the way this restaurant functions. Relaxed atmosphere, professional employees, great food.....“

“I saw this place has been around since 1874 and thought there's no way this building is that old! It must have been in another nearby long gone building back in those days when Romeo Plank Road was literally wood planks. Well, I had it ass backwards. This building really is that old but it's only been a tavern since the 1940s. It also spent decades with another name before changing ownership and becoming Goldie's Saloon. There's your limited Yelp history lesson. I've been here a couple times, to watch the NCAA men's basketball championship game a couple years ago and the Daytona 500 earlier this week. I was really into watching motorsports from 2005 til around 2010 and then the obsession waned but I'll very infrequently check out a race. Goldie's seemed like it would draw a NASCARy crowd and indeed there were a few avid watchers, including a guy behind me mansplaining restrictor plates and drafting to his significant other. I've had both menu items featured on Goldie's sign. The fish and chips were mighty tasty and the burger was solid. I've had better but I would put it somewhere in the upper echelon of bar burgers in the metro area. A buzzed up racing fan at the bar was raving about the burgers, though, nursing brown liquor on the rocks, bragging about how his 82 year old mother in law was waiting for him to bring the carry out before him on the bar, saying she liked Big Boy when it wasn't even "real food" like they have at Goldie's. I don't know about all that but I probably would rather eat at Goldie's than at Big Boy. The food is better and you're likely to get some entertainment, too. There's no windows here and the interior has that classic dive bar look. There's comical signs celebrating vice. They even got red Naugahyde booths. The thing I love about this type of windowless saloon is it could easily be in Detroit's Eastern Market, a single traffic light town up north or out in Macomb township where seas of parking and every chain store imaginable, often repeating themselves if you drive far enough down nearby Hall Road, have sprouted up from what was once just farmland surrounding this humble old two story building. The bartender has been the same on both my visits, a shorter gal with dark hair and she's done a fine job both times. I get the feeling she's been at this a few years. Goldie's has your standard touchscreen jukebox and a golfing video game some guys in the back where just going apeshit over. They also got geeked when I played Primus. How can I not play Jerry Was a Racecar Driver while guys are doing lap after lap after lap around a tri-oval? The men's room here really shows the building's age, it's the tiniest commode this side of Lafayette Coney Island. Not so much a problem for a trim guy like me but I imagine they get their share of guys built like their oversized pickups in here. I don't know if I'll ever go back to Goldie's. It's kind of one of those deals where I want to say I've been there but if I'm around that neck of the woods I wouldn't mind going back. It's a welcome respite from all the antiseptic chain restaurants with bars that line Sprawl Road.“

“Brought my son and his friends for his birthday. The staff was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. We had our own table and area for snacks and drinks and they provided all of the plates, cups, and plasticware! We will definitely be back and would recommend for a party or fun night out.“

“After hearing about this pizza from Facebook I had to try it. I couldn't believe how good the pizza was. There are many pizza places around, but this is where I will be getting all my pizzas. If you have not tried it I recommend you do. You will not regret your decision.“

“I enjoyed my drinks at the Shamrock Pub in Utica. The Shamrock has a cozy atmosphere and a down-to-earth feel. It's a restaurant that families eat at with their kids, but you can still enjoy a selection of beers and liquor at the bar. The outdoor seating is nice on warm days. The staff is kind and helpful. The menu is simple and the food is tasty.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian choices are limited. Vegetarians are ordering a cold cheese sandwich and some fries.“

“First time here and was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was!The bar and surrounding seating areas were very spacious. The Humidor had a great selection (tried my first Perdomo and learned about Timeless cigars formerly known as Nat Sherman). The burger and fries were tasty. Joe, the bartender, and Ella, the manager were very cool and accommodating!I was told they show all of the major fights (UFC/Boxing) and will stay open until the fights are over.I'll be back here again!“

“This place is laid back and old style cool. Used to be an old Speakeasy and they kept that same feeling. For the elders that grew up with neighborhood bars on the corner actually IN the neighborhood, thats exactly what this is. Friendly and easy going with the tastiest bar burgers. “Omg, this place is so cool. The atmosphere and staff make it so unique. The lighting is a little brighter, and music is played a little softer, so it makes conversion and laughs more enjoyable. The mead here is very good. There are a lot of beers to choose from, and they are often rotated. Once a keg is empty, they will bring in a different keg (brand and flavor). I love to taste beer, and they offer flights. The staff and owner are super friendly and great to talk to. They also support local businesses by bringing in local foods and treats.“

As a local, they are a go-to for delicious burgers and drink specials.They also have karaoke on Friday nights and fish fry specials including perch and coconut shrimp dinners. “Robusto's is a nice cigar lounge. There's a good selection of cigars, and they are priced well. The drinks are delicious, and the service is exceptional. “While I can’t attest to dine-in as I did a carry out order, the restaurant was beautiful inside and out from what I saw when I picked up my order. My husband said he’d love to take me on a date there one day, but we wanted the yummy food at home today. We live across the street and it was our first time visiting after almost a year of living next door.We got the fettuccine Alfredo, the Giusseppe's and truffle fries. Our total was $53. We thought it was a tad pricy but once we tried the food, we were literally completely blown away. Worth. Every. Single. Cent.The Alfredo was to die for. I’ve had Alfredo from every other local place and chain place and none have come close to the taste of bar Veronas. The flavor is SPECTACULAR and the noodles are clearly home made. My husband enjoyed his pasta a lot and we appreciate that our meals still came with bread despite not eating in. The bread was super soft and FRESH! Phenomenal. The truffle fries were crispy, just the right amount of oily, salty, flavorful, and delectable. I could eat them every single day they are so good.I can’t say enough about how good their food is. I wish I had more words. I cannot wait to eat here again, I can’t believe I waited so long to try it! It’s nice to have such a restaurant right by our home.TLDR: LOVED THE FOOD!!“

“So I gotta commend Al or whomever it is that owns Al's ... EVERYTHING is roughly twice as much as it used to be cost wise. Al didn't do his ppl like that. Took my stepson for a burger on his bday. I've been in Mexico, have Mexican friends, and eat in Mexican restaurants at least 4 times a month. You will NOT find better than Aztecas in Macomb County. This place is even better than the establishments in Mexican town Detroit.“

“Gator Jake's is absolutely AMAZING!!! The staff is by far some of the best around. Erica and Shannon are the BEST bartenders they have!! The food is amazing. Weekly specials that the chef creates are fabulous!! The owners Dave and Lynn are over the top friendly and treat you like family. I am here 5 days a week because of how "at home" I feel. “I had a catered event here and Lisa and the Staff were fantastic! I did a spaghetti buffet dinner with salad and appetizers and the food was amazing. Now I go to Bar Bingo night on Wed on occasion for the food and the fun. I must say best Nachos around as well!“

“This has got to be the local "Cheers Bar". Everyone knew each other and sounds like they meet there all the time. The bar was packed, not an empty seat around 330pm. Beers and shots were cheap. The locals even bought me one. If your looking for a great hideout bar with cheap drinks this place is it. If you don't like smoking, I probably wouldn't go here. Many years have of smoking in the Bar had given it that old pub smell. I'd go back for sure.“

“As a group of managers from out of state, we went to DK Arcade to get together and have a good time and we did just that. The place has an old school feel to it. From well maintained pin ball machines to 4 -player sports and fighting Arcades. Have a drink and some good food while you get a blast from the past with the classic games.“

“This place, tucked to the side and a bit hidden in Mount Clemens, has some of the most fantastic pizza I've had in the area. The place is small, a full bar and maybe 7-8 tables, but if you can find time to slip in and get a pizza, I highly recommend it. We got the Todd Father and it was large, well cooked, and the vegetables tasted extremely fresh. The atmosphere is dark, relaxed, and warm, which makes for a fantastic location for a 1 on 1 night out. Couldn't reccomend Little Loraine's more.“

“I've been here before and it was excellent so my sister and I stopped in. My Texas Burger was one the best I've (cheese burger)ever had. It was perfect. My only complaint is that the booth upholstery seemed to need cleaning or perhaps an update but other than that it was very nice.“
