Hunan Town is our family’s go-to place for Chinese food. We’ve been loyal customers for many, many years. Originally, Charles and Lily owned Hunan Garden at 10 Mile and Telegraph. We were crushed when the restaurant closed, but ecstatic to find the new location, renamed Hunan Town, on W. 12. Mile. The new place provides carry out service. The food is excellent, and the portions are super generous. Some of our favorite dishes are Deluxe Lo Mein, General Tso’s Shrimp, and Chicken Chow Mein. Catering and delivery services are also available.
We used to always go to Hunan Garden and were sad when we found them closed with no idea what happened. Lo and behold they opened again in another Southfield location and as a Carry Out Chinese Establishment. I happened to Google the old location and was directed to their new place. We were so excited and made a trip there right away. Same great owners and food. My husband loves the Hunan Chicken and no other place has ever come close to making it this good. It was a great reunion seeing these hard working owners again and enjoying their delicious food! We will be back even if it’s a long drive.

First time getting food from here. I had Sweet and sour chicken. They gave a large portion with a beautiful presentation. The only complaint I have is the food was very bland. It could have been seasoned better. I will go back for a different selection.
