“We stopped in for breakfast before a wrestling tournament and we had excellent service and our food was great! My son said the French toast was the best he’s ever had, and the corn beef hash was homemade! Would definitely recommend and will stop again if we are back in the area.“

“I moved to SCS 5 months ago and have never been here before. My family and I have tried carryout from several restaurants and we always end up with Gilbert’s. Great food, service & prices. I had my daughters 1st birthday in their banquet room yesterday and I’m over the moon happy with how it turned out! The staff was super helpful and always around when I needed anything. The food was great, my guests raved about the pizza and spinach dip. I would book events here in the future without a doubt. Look no further for a great American cuisine menu and staff that makes you feel like family!“

“My friend and I sat at the bar last night and had the best time…we typically come in for pizza take out but decided to dine in. The short blonde bartender (I believe she said her name was Alison) was outstanding— quick with delicious drinks and always smiling. The bang bang shrimp appetizer is a must have, and although their pizza takes a bit longer because it’s HALF OFF on Tuesdays, it is 10/10.“

“Was the only place we could find that was actually open in St Clair shores past 9pm during the week. Decent place..nothing to write home about, but I'd eat there again! Waitress was nice. Food was reasonably priced. Buns were a little mushy, but that happens.“

“We had never been to Zef's before though we would drive by often. After stopping in with family from out of town, we have decided we must come back when the upper deck is open! We tried 4 appetizers and loved all of them. The pretzel bites were perfectly toasty with a delicious cheese sauce. They were not generic pretzels and I was thrilled! The provolone cheesesticks were a fun twist but not all too different than mozzarella sticks. They were seasoned and cooked well, but nothing groundbreaking. We had the steak tips and while they had good seasoning, they were not the most tender and the bleu cheese really drowned out the flavors of the meat. I wish they would've either skipped the cheese or used something a little more blendable. However, the bourbon glazed brussel sprouts are a MUST ORDER! The bdussels were crispy, the sauce was sweet and tangy, and the goat cheese just put it over the top. So so amazing!! Highly recommend! My entree was the pulled pork mac and cheese. It was good, but I wouldn't order it again. I think it is a me thing but I felt like the pork had an off putting scent. I liked the crispy onions on top! The cheese sauce was decent but a little plain. My SIL got the Nashville CBR Mac and absolutely loved it, so maybe I'd consider trying that sometime. I did sample my boyfriends truffle fries (for science of course) and those were really good too! Our waitress was nice and got our orders out in a good timely manner. There is a bar if you're looking to just have drinks or small bites, and tvs if a game is on. The ambiance is a little loud with low light in the evening, but thats just standard for a busy restaurant. Once the weather warms up, we will be back to sit outside and enjoy the water while we dine!“

“BLOWN AWAY! From walking up to this establishment. You can tell it is something special. The staff greeted us at the door, very inviting. The decor seems high-end with marble and metallic accents everywhere, with a live musician. It gives a out of town vibe here. The food was even better than the ambiance. I've had the shrimp and grits in many places. This was by far the best I've had. It's on the higher end price wise, but it's definitely worth it. Gratuity is automatically added to the bill. I have no issues with that when the service matches. I will be back again.“

“Honestly one of the best experiences at a coney restaurant I have had in a long time. The kitchen even wrote Coney Island on my father-in-law's coney dogs, and to see him smile so big and be so grateful that someone thought to put a little happiness out there was so amazing to see. We'll be back much sooner.“
