We tried to get lunch here yesterday. I noticed an employee returning to the building and I asked her how we could place an order since we were pulling a 45' toy hauler trailer. She said we could call our order and pointed to a sign on the door with their phone number. My wife called the number to place our order. She was told that if we are not a semi we would have to drive thru the drive thru. I walked the drive thru, there's a sign saying 9' clearance, we're 13'6". There also is a tight left turn to the pick up window. I told my wife "this is nuts, they want us to go through the drive thru?" I suggested she call again while we were parked right in front of the windows. Same person answered the phone and again explained they only take phone orders for semis. I asked if he could see the size of the rig right outside. He said he could and that semis do it all the time. While I pride myself on being able to maneuver this beast, I did not feel comfortable trying to negotiate this. I explained that I am not a professional semi driver and this rule didn't seem to make any logical sense. I asked him if he was refusing to take my order and he said yes unless we were to drive thru. I then asked what their location number was to which he responded "I can't deal with this" and handed us to someone else. She also said that if we are not a semi, they can't take our order over the phone. Remember back in the beginning of this story where I said we were instructed by an employee to call our order in? Again we asked for a location number, to which she responded, "we can't give out any phone numbers" I told her that we're not asking for a number, we want a store number, every McDonald's has one. Frustrated, I said "you are accommodating as hell" to which she said "you don't have to cal me names" and hung up. No sure where there any name calling in that statement. We drove to Elk River and had zero issues. Never, ever will I deal with the Rice, MN McDonalds again.
