“We went for Mother's Day Brunch. There were 7 of us, including 2 children. The food and staff were amazing. It was very quiet in the restaurant, however. We could have used some light music, I think. Also, mimosas or coffee drinks should be included for the price of the meal. The drinks were a bit overpriced. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and it was delicious. We all went home full and happy.“

“Loved the atmosphere and the staff. Music was playing the entire time. A great place to play pool. Plenty of tables and great prices. Only negative was the cigarette smoke smell was heavy and I’m not a smoker. 4 stars instead of 5 because Smoking is allowed inside and was difficult for my non smoker lungs to stomach. If you are a smoker then this is your place.“

“WOW!! This place has really upgraded their food menu. Just had some of the best Corned beef, cabbage, and red potatoes in memory. All scratch made. They are introducing a new menu with many new options that are in-house made. Some of the best "fat" hot wings I've tasted. Real chicken tenders made using fresh chicken breasts. In-House made onion rings with a killer batter. Yes, this is a smoking environment. So it's not for everyone. But, if you like a sports bar environment, with upscale food and great service, at very reasonable prices, give it a try.“

“I would put myself in debt to eat this food, It's so incredible the head chef is brilliant, and the staff from the front of the house to the back make the entire experience a joy. the wild boar and polenta is writing home about worthy, and the tirimisu makes me emotional... the pizza is literally the only pizza in st louis worth eating and I'm from Chicago so I feel like my opinion is extra valid lol. there are a ton of "fancy restaurants" in St. Louis but table cloths and wine selection don't mean crap when the menu of a reasonably priced pizza joint makes your food look like McDonald's by comparison.“

“I’ve been here quite a few times, the food and drink are great and so is the service. The only qualm I have is with the rationing of the napkins? You don’t get any at the table, and when you ask they give you 2-3 napkins. I ordered churros to go (so good btw) and was given ice cream in a bag with no spoon. This isn’t going to stop my patronage of this establishment but geez“

“Food tasty, service was attentive and the prices were manageable. A nice neighborhood bar for a meal. Our waitress was exceptionally nice and met our every request with a smile. She was really busy and seemed happy. There were two other waitresses who seemed a lot on edge. There were two bus boys who helped during the evening. All in all a fun experience.“

“We hosted a surprise birthday party for my fiancé at the Rec Hall's private room and it was a perfect space! The room was huge and even had its own outdoor portion for guests to use as well which we did not know about at first! The private room had ample table space for setting up food and tables/chairs/couches for guests to lounge and eat at along with its own private games as well. We really enjoyed using the two tvs to display a photo slideshow and a big bluetooth speaker to play music which were all provided already in the booking package. In addition to the private room being a great space for everyone, what really impressed my guests and I were how attentive and friendly the staff were! They attended to the guests for drinks constantly and helped us with setting up for the event as well as answering any questions we had at the time. They all provided great customer service and were always quick to help when we wanted to order more pizza for example. Everyone had a great time and we will all definitely be back!“

“Great meal and evening. The service and food was wonderful. Have not had any better in St Louis. Our server was knowledgeable and pleasant. We were also served by three additional individuals all of whom were pleasant, knew their job and did a good job. It is said the details make the difference and the Twisted Tree has those details down pat - from the unique service of bread in a sack (kept it warm) to very adequate portions of butter, sour cream and sauces. I do not remember having a better piece of prime rib anywhere and their unique salad service was enjoyable particularly when served on ice cold plates.“

“I've lived in STL for over 40yrs and last night was my first time here. I've clearly been deprived all that time. Fun, quirky, cozy place with great service and ample room to spread out and have fun. As others have said, great dive bar, hidden gem, etc. In the case of this place, it's both the journey (to get there) AND the destination (a place you want to be) all in one. From the super cool 100+yr old one lane bridge on the road in, to the money stapled to the ceiling, this place would be equally at home in places like New Orleans or Chicago. I will definitely be back.“

“What an absolutely divine bar. My husband, brother-in-law, and myself popped in here for a couple of late night cocktails while walking around St. Charles. Kubrick’s was extremely welcoming, wonderfully decorated, and they even had fun drinks of the month. I have a deep appreciation for the aesthetic of this spot, and the bartender was extremely friendly. Please do keep in mind that if you do not like cigarette smoke, this place may not be for you, as smoking is allowed inside. We will definitely be back when we are in Missouri again next year, visiting my in-laws for the holiday!“

If your cardiologist is more forgiving than mine, get a side of onion rings! Drinks are cheaper than most places and the pours are perfect. The staff is always courteous and attentive. Frequent visits and you'll be remembered - that's a great part of going here. My one complaint: It is loud. Very loud. Between 5 and 7 you're probably not going to have a few cocktails and catch up with friends. If yelling people is your thing, you'll love it! “I eat here once a week in the summer and the pizza.......is phenomenal! I judge all other wood fired pizza by this pizza. They make a jalapeño popper pizza that is my favorite and this is coming from a guy who only eats pepperoni pizza. I'm sure the other food is delicous too but I can't stop ordering the pizza ha! Other than that it's a great place with tons of beer and these awesome necklaces that you use to scan the taps super fun!“

The place is popular with an older crowd, so even if you try to get ahead of them and eat dinner at 4:30, the place is likely already busy. All the staff is pleasant, courteous, and takes care of their customers.I don't know about much else here other than the fried chicken. It's some of the best in STL hands down; half a chicken, two sides, and a roll for only $10 can't be beat, just make sure you have the time to wait... it's all cooked to order!“
