“"I began to touch -- But you wouldn't let it It never seemed to be the right time I started to give up -- down to the limit And then you changed your mind" First off, a little background on me...I'm a 43 year old average joe that puts his sweatpants on one leg at a time and sits down to pee just like the next guy. I like a skin of whiskey and a good book from time to time, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Second off, I've always had a good time at every VFW hall I've been to. The bars are always my speed and Veterans are my people. There was no chance this place was gonna get less than 3 stars. Even if my fat body were to get wedged in their tiny mens room for 2-3 hours and they had to grease me up with ghee to get me out...I would give it 3 stars. It earned 4. We went on Thursday steak night. I'm a morbidly obese ribeye fan and I think I've been to every well known steakhouse in the metro area. I know my steaks like Bill Cosby knows how to make stiff drink, so I know what I'm talking about. Moving on... They have 4 different cuts of meat that they will cook to your desired temp, and it includes a potato, veggie, salad and dessert. I cant review the green beans because they have always looked and tasted disgusting to me. They are hot garbage. Salad was fine. Iceberg lettuce with really good croutons. They also have plenty of dressing options. The table bread was sneaky good. I crammed 2-3 pieces of that in my face. I got the 12oz Ribeye and my fiance/roommate got the Filet. Both were cooked a bit over, so If you want a medium, order it med-rare. The cuts of meat were well above average, so it'll taste good either way. Dessert was a really good strawberry shortcake. The 4th member of our table who showed up late so he could bathe in essential oils or do whatever TF that tubby dude does for a living declared "That dessert's the best part of this meal!" His opinions are usually worthless, but I agreed. My one knock would be they don't season the meat enough. Salt, Pepper, Garlic / Onion powder would be a game changer. If you even want to go the extra mile, get an Andria's steakhouse-type of marinade or a more cost effective equal. It won't cost that much and you could throw another buck or two on the already cheap price. Overall I left fatter and happier and got drooled on by this cool basset hound while I dominated my feeble-minded cohorts at Wheel of Fortune. $55 after tip for 2 really solid meals. I will return for taco night“
“Our first time and it was amazing!Never had been to a comedy show before and it was way better than expected. Our waitress hosting during the show was absolutely INCREDIBLE and was taking care of the whole place by herself rocking it out!We seen Amber Autry and I will be back if she comes again!“

“100/10. Walked over last night to try it out. Ordered 6 things from the menu to try a little of everything and I still can’t decide which one is my favorite- I do know nothing was bad though! Great menu, great pricing, great cocktails. What a fantastic addition to Soulard- exactly what was needed!!!! Can’t wait to go back!“

“My friend who lives in the area took me to The Gramophone, and let me tell you, it did NOT disappoint! This place is like a two-in-one - a happening bar with a HUGE selection of beers, but also with some seriously delicious sandwiches. I wasn't expecting much from a pub's food menu, but I was wrong.Picking a sandwich was the hardest part - they all sounded so good. As a part-time vegetarian, I went with the Mushroom Mississippi Nights, and it was ?. Highly recommend it to any veggie fan out there! The beer selection was equally impressive. They have tons of craft beers on tap, along with bottles and cans.Honestly, if I lived in St. Louis, I'd be here all the time trying a different sandwich every month. I loved it so much, I even took one back home with me ?.Highly recommend checking out The Gramophone if you're about sandwiches.“

“For years, every time I go in I beg whoever will listen to bring back the burgers. I used to love the Mr. Robinson with the mac & cheese and bacon bits. Finally they listened to me and brought them back, so of course I had to get one-and it's even better than I remember!! So good! Love everything else & the ambiance is always amazing, but even more now with the menu additions. Great place to stop by for drinks, fun times, & yummy food!“

“Hands down best food we had on our entire vacation! Fall-off-the-bone BBQ chicken, best friend catfish I think I've ever had, and OMG you have to try the baked beans!!!!! Fabulous, welcoming, friendly staff and environment. Highly recommend, and will definitely be stopping by every time we pass through St. Louis (we're from Texas, but travel a few times a year).“

“Can be a little loud when they are busy. Food is good and you get lots, won't leave hungry.Parking: Depending on how busy they are, sometimes parking is not great. Restaurant shares parking with a convenience type store/sandwich shop, and I believe a laundromat around the corner.“

“My friend and I have been coming to STL to try different coffee places for quite some time and this has got to be top 3 for us. Anita was super friendly and helpful right away. “Great place for a night out with the friends or significant other. Loved the games and the pizza is over the top. Only problem is why don’t they close that damn door when it’s cold outside makes you uncomfortable when you’re walking around feels like I’m still outside when I’m not.“

“Great drinks and the owner is always so accommodating. I’ve yet to have a bad drink or a bad time there. One of the coolest, most unpretentious bars in town.“

“I would put myself in debt to eat this food, It's so incredible the head chef is brilliant, and the staff from the front of the house to the back make the entire experience a joy. the wild boar and polenta is writing home about worthy, and the tirimisu makes me emotional... the pizza is literally the only pizza in st louis worth eating and I'm from Chicago so I feel like my opinion is extra valid lol. there are a ton of "fancy restaurants" in St. Louis but table cloths and wine selection don't mean crap when the menu of a reasonably priced pizza joint makes your food look like McDonald's by comparison.“

“Was in St Louis for 4 days visiting a friend. We were trying to find a nice locals type place with a good selection of cocktails and good atmosphere. Thanks to Google we stumbled upon this place. It was nice just to sit the in the corner, have a drink, listen to quality music and play chess.“

“I go here every week for trivia and it's amazing all around. The staff is friendly and cool, the food is ALWAYS fantastic (I have an actual fear of mayonnaise but I dip their fries in their house rosemary mayo and it's incredible). The owner is really awesome and the trivia is the best in town. Great vibes! There's a pool table and darts, bathrooms are spacious and clean (and gender inclusive). This is a great spot whether you're here for a beer with your friends or for a delicious dinner. Can't recommend it enough.“

“I loved this place. The staff was very nice. I had no wait at the bar and while the building itself is a little small, the atmosphere was just pure fun. I went there to see Al1ce and I will definitely return for more live music.Vegetarian options: There was a veggie pizza optionDietary restrictions: I'm Jewish so I couldn't eat the pepperoni pizza nor the sausage but they still had a few pizza options that I could enjoy.“
“Decent venue, bathrooms pretty clean, seating nice. Alcohol is served here. They have metal detectors in use so if you have anything that can be possibly be used as a weapon, leave it in your car or you will have to make a trip back to your car.“
“The basement speakeasy under Grand Spirits had a very eclectic layout and decor and a very chill vibe; minimalistic with great music. A perfect hangout spot. Very few tables, so reservations are needed on weekends for sure. Your reservation gets you about 90 minutes of time on busy weekends; longer if there aren't reservations behind you. Cocktails range from twists on old classics (Manhattan, Daquiri, Sazerac) to very inventive / experimental flavors and textures. We had the Tunnel Vision, Daiquiri, Kitchen Sink, Sazerac among others. We enjoyed everything we had. Service was attentive and informative as well. We did not try the food. Would definitely recommend.“

“I stopped in for a visit to see the amazing collection of art and other decorations. I was not disappointed. Everything from the walls to floors to ceiling plus everything else in the cafe was all visually interesting. There were definitely things I liked and some not so much. It's obviously a local hang out where everyone knows each other. While called a cafe, it's a bar. There's no food except some pretzels available. They do serve canned soda for anyone not drinking.I went in the afternoon when they opened. They are also known for their nightly entertainment. On Mondays it's open mic night but the rest of the week brings in a variety of musical groups.“

“We stopped here after Paint Louis as it was recommended for its Gluten-free menu and what a great find! The cider flight was perfect as was our appetizer, main meal and dessert (hey, ya gotta have dessert when the rest of the meal was so awesome!). We wound up taking 2 growlers of cider with us and will be back again!“

“Always a great experience here. Kit was our server and was great. They've expanded the wine list from our last visit, which was a nice change, but prices have gone up quite a bit as they have everywhere. Their steaks are always fantastic. I'd like to see a few more options for appetizers and sides, but limiting the options probably allow them to focus on making what they offer excellent.“
