“My grandson had the best birthday ever. We flew in for lunch and everyone from the hospitality on the taramac to entrance through the front doors and beyond gave us all such a warm and welcoming and friendly greeting. The pilots that were flying in and out made my grandson eager to learn more about aviation.Several pilots more than willing gave my grandson thier time to speak with him and encourage his curiosty of aviation. The homade mac and cheese was the bedt !Thanks to his aunt Leilani and uncle Tony Rosebaum for taking him up on his first flight. Great atmosphere all around.Kid-friendliness: My grandson was in awe of the military training pilots that took thier time to speak with him encouraging him in the field of aviation. Several also gave him patches off their uniforms. He said it was the best birthday ever!“

“First visit. Had a fantastic server. Too many items to choose from so I had two appetizers, which were huge and too much to eat. The onion rings were awesome but could have been crispier. A huge portion for one person. Their homemade ranch dressing was perfect with it. Then, I had stuffed mushrooms, which were good but mushrooms hard to cut. Great taste. Husband had four huge boudin egg rolls followed by seafood bordelaise. Too much to eat. Good food but not cheap.“

“We love this place! Here are pics from our most recent visit, when we sat at the kitchen bar and watched the spectacular meals being made by the friendly and conversational cooks. On this trip, we had a bottle of wine and two specials: crawfish bread for an appetizer - stellar! - and a giant soft-shelled crab atop Asian-spiced rice with chunks of lobster - even more stellar! Each dish was sauced to perfection. We watched as steaks were grilled, side dishes were sauteed and this beautiful whole flounder was treated so lovingly and the proud chef held it up for us to photograph. We've never had a bad bite here, and come back almost every time we visit Bay St. Louis. Two other dishes that we really, really love are the bouillabaisse and the fried artichoke. We often share that combination for dinner, because the servings here are LARGE.Even if you're not hungry for lunch or dinner, or have reservations somewhere else, it's great to sit outside and enjoy one of their handmade cocktails, and do some people-watching of the always entertaining tourists and locals on the main drag in this tiny seaside town. Put Thorny Oyster on your list! The only negative is that it can get very loud when the restaurant is full - and on those days, we just take an outside table.“

“A little gem of a family spot with sunrise themes and sailboats. It looks like a dive in a parking lot from the outside, but all who enter are welcomed with a smile and great food. While they don’t have a spot in the beach, they are serving up great omelettes and pancakes in a clean and friendly environment!“

“Comfortable Locale, Mixed Service ExperienceMockingbird Cafe in Bay St. Louis offers a cheerful, local-favorite vibe that captures the essence of a small-town gathering spot. The cafe is generally buzzing with a friendly atmosphere, making it a pleasant spot for a casual meal.On the food front, the dishes are commendable. The biscuit with gravy and chicken was hearty and satisfying, the avocado toast topped with a fried egg was prepared well, and the Wonderland salad was fresh and flavorful. Each dish was prepared with care and contributed to a very good dining experience. However, I found the service setup less than ideal for my preferences, especially during the weekend. The need to order at the counter, which had a lengthy 25-minute line, detracted from the relaxed weekend breakfast experience I was looking forward to. During weekdays, the requirement to order via web or phone also detracts from the traditional dining experience where one can disconnect from the devices for an hour and can order directly from a human being.Overall, Mockingbird Cafe is a charming spot worth visiting for its quality food and warm ambiance, though be prepared for a less conventional service method that may not appeal to everyone.“

“When we were in Miss several years ago we found this place by accident. We loved the food and the onion rings most of all. They have great food and a large selection and at fair prices. We have gone back there to eat every time we are in Miss. and drive 30 miles just to do it. Was there in June and will be going back again. if you like good food nice people give it a try.“

“Very good experience with some very good food! Got the chance to speak to one of the amazing line cooks, think his name was Mason (Hope I got that right). On top of making one of the best coconut shrimp dishes I have ever had, he also helped defend me from a vicious black bear attack near the dumpster. 10/10 will definitely return! :)Parking: Not originally from here the coast so seeing that they had boat parking was very interesting to see!“

“First time & we are glad we stopped. We ordered the white specialty pizza & it had a delicate flavor, which we found to be good, but we would have liked it better if it been a bit more flavorful…just our personal preference. Server was very friendly & the atmosphere steampunk-ish. We would to come back & try the wings.“

“Joined friends for dinner here recently. Lovely atmosphere, attentive service. While the food was good, I found the menu to be somewhat limited. I greatly enjoyed the savory cheesecake, as did my companions. My Ropa Vieja was a bit dry, unfortunately; more attention to cooking time might be warranted, but the sauce on the dish was outstanding. The cocktails were well-crafted also. I will definitely visit again, because I noticed that there is very inviting exterior seating in the rear courtyard. Nice place to lounge for a drink and a bite.“

“My food was great even though it didn't seem like the 3 egg fiesta omelet. They still put jalapeños in them after I said no mushrooms or jalapeños, the food was brought to me so I couldn't check it, but it was still delicious. The grits were very good. My woman had something in her drink so she threw it away. I finished her food the next morning because she didn't really like it, I thought it was good, but I'm a bigger waffle house fan than her.“

“Each level has the experience you are looking for. The bottom has live music. Take the elevator to the second floor for at table dining. Going up to the third floor you will find a bar where you can hear the music from below. You must order at the bar but can then sit anywhere.I would not get the pizza here, it was more like a very thin flour tortilla than an actual pizza crust. But the drinks were amazing.“

“The casino has free parking. The restaurant is located inside the casino building before you reach the casino. You order and pay at the counter and they call you to pick up your food. There are several tables available in case you want to eat there. My breakfast croissant sandwich was quite tasty. COVID-19 report: the employees wear masks, but I was not there long enough to see whether or not they disinfect tables regularly.“

“Our lunch was very good. They have a variety of grilled or fried seafood/fish, burgers/sandwiches, salads, and steak dishes. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. We received our food in a timely manner even though a large party had been seated just before our arrival. Attire is coast casual. Prices are competitive with similar restaurants in the Bay (which I find to be higher than comparable restaurants in areas such as Slidell and along the coast). But, here you have the trendy, artsy, small town "Main Street" atmosphere overlooking the beautiful boat harbor and the Bay of St. Louis.Street parking is free in front of and all around the restaurant, but depending on the day & time of day, parking can be a challenge *anywhere* in downtown Bay St. Louis, most especially if you're not able to walk any distance. It's not really an issue for younger or able-bodied people. There's a parking garage also, about 2 short blocks away.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible.“
“Stopped by on a Monday afternoon for a late lunch. I ordered the old fashion which was made with rye. An interesting change from my usual bourbon. My spouse had the margarita, which was very good. The fried green tomatoes are must. Just perfect. The seafood gumbo was tasty but served in a shallow bowl, which made for a small portion. The club sandwich was delicious and served with house made chips. Service was prompt and friendly. We had a table by the window with a nice view of the beach.“

“I really like the catfish here! As a person who hates fishy fish, this place nailed it! The catfish on the poboy was light and not oily. It tasted so good and was not at all fishy. Everyone in our party liked their food and the service was fantastic!“

“A great dining experience! Love the platters with so many options. The servers here are very attentive to your wants and needs. Although it is more expensive than other restaurants, it is worth the money and the drive. Don't forget to make a reservation!“
