“First time I've been in years. The last time my wife and I were here it was still smoking inside and we never went back. I came for breakfast and everything was great! I'll be back soon for dinner if I can get past the breakfast goodness! My wife of almost 40 years passed away a few weeks ago so I was looking for a place to be a regular. Thanks for being here!“

“Went to Currituck BƁQ in Elizabeth City today at lunch with my work family. We were a group of 12 people. We arrived around 1145 am and were the first people in the dining room so we quickly found our seats with no issues. One of my co-workers streamlined the ordering process by writing everyone's order down and taking it to the register so we all didn't have to do it. The employees were pleasant and got our food to us quickly. The restaurant was clean. The food: I ordered the Throwback Thursday Special which consisted of pulled pork BBQ w/ two sides - i got cole slaw & fries, hush puppies and a 16 Oz drink for $6.99. Price was good and portion size was ok BUT the BBQ was bland. It didn't have no spice to it and the smoke was lacking. It NEEDED sauce. The sign of good NC pork BBQ is the prominence of the smoke and a little kick from vinegar & pepper. Good BBQ don't need sauce, this BBQ needed it so that was disappointing. That said there were several sauces on the table. I would go back to try their brisket and burnt ends. Also, they should add pulled smoked Turkey to their menu.Wheelchair accessibility: We had one person in a wheelchair; I had absolutely no problems getting her in and out of the parking lot and building.“

“Drive thru or walk up window only. Didn't understand the process & no indication of where to go. A lot of choices were nice. The food was hot & tasty. Loved the peanut butter shake! Burgers tasted fresh. Guy at the window was NOT pleasant, with no friendliness or smile. Came across like we were interrupting his day. Tried asking questions, but he ignored us. Place is always busy with cars. Look forward to going again. Hope we get a friendly person next time.“
