“Hayden was a fantastic host. Did everything right and helped everyone find a way to the bullseye. He gently coached each of us in all ways of the axe. From the heavier ones to the throwing knives. If we had trouble he was there to set us right.“

“We came on a Sunday afternoon and the wait was not bad - about 10-15 minutes. We sat outside on this beautiful sunny 74 degree day. Our waitress quickly came out to greet us & take our drink orders. She was so sweet and friendly, especially to our little baby boy who was curiously looking around.We ordered and maybe 15 min later our food came out. Wow! Everything we tried was so good. I got the Soft Shell Crab BLT Sandwich, my husband got the Grouper Fish & Chips, & we ordered a side of the cheese grits for our son. My sandwich was everything I had hoped it would be - the crab was fried perfectly and the bun was soft and fresh. My husband’s Grouper Fish & Chips were lightly battered but not overly crunchy (in a good way!). But the surprising star? The cheese grits. What in the world are they made with? I usually don’t like grits, but my son is 8 months and needed something to snack on. They were so good I was stealing it from him. I’m left looking up cheese grits recipes and am sure to be thinking about them the rest of the week.If you’ve never been you have to give it a try. You’ll definitely regret it if not.“

“Visited the Til It's Gone food truck. I had the fish and fries, and my daughter had wings and fries. IT WAS AMAZING!! Everything was seasoned to perfection, right down to the fries. There was just one problem, after I finished my fish and fries, I DIDN'T HAVE ANY MORE!! I've decided I'm gonna be a Til It's Gone groupie, because I'm definitely going to be spending a lot time there!! If you're looking for a tasty, affordable meal while you're out and about, go show them some love! I promise you will not regret it!!“

“Liked the bar before, but LOVE it now. The new owner did a fantastic job, flipping this into a “garage”. The atmosphere is amazing, everything is so fresh and clean. The staff is charming and I love all the new bar games, that are now available. Prices are great, live music was outstanding. A new must go to.“

I have been to countless restaurants and bars that specialize in bourbon but they all fall short for one common reason. They don’t have Hank. I’m just down here in New Bern visiting family and I will always make it a priority to stop in Poppy’s Bites and Barrels every time I am back in town.“

“Tonight was our 2nd visit here and both our visits have been great! This is a busy place but service is exceptional. Tonight, Chris, apologized they could not be as attentive as usual because they were busier than usual for a Sunday night…. However, we considered the service tonight better/more attentive than at traditional restaurants. Customer service seems harder and harder to come by, but you will find it plentiful here. Side note- the burgers are absolutely delicious.“

“Great little place we stumbled upon in a back alley. It had the right vibes and one of the few places that were open later (we ended up there 2 nights in a row). Good service and drinks, definitely recommend if you're looking for a chill place to get a drink with friends.“

“Nice, clean and friendly. Dropped into the Bruin fir a quick drink. First time here, greeted immediately and friendly. Nice music playing in the background. Really nice choices for beer and wine, which is great cause the wife likes the grapes and I like the hops and it's usually one or the other on our stops. Great choices for walk out beers and wines. Worth stopping in if you're in the downtown area. Great walking around the area as well, waterfront, live music all about, what's not to love!“

“BTM is our regular, go-to spot in New Bern. It is the most accepting bar for everyone to go. The patrons are all one family. The staff is welcoming, fun, and caring. They make a sure you have a good time. This place is a gem and an establishment for the town. It is also a place to grab an affordable drink. We are regulars and will always be loyal patrons of the bar. Can’t say enough about how much we love this place.“

“We had a party of seven for birthday celebrations and we had reservations at 5:30 and got in right away and got served right away. The food was very delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The workers were very pleasant and helpful when we requested something extra. Had a great time being there and enjoyed the meal thoroughly.Parking: They are always very busy but we always have been able to find a spot to park.“

“Came in to play some pool with the family on a Sunday.As we entered all eyes turned to us bc it was very quiet in the room. It was awkward for a moment but the bartender was warm and kind. They were doing a tournament but still had a change operated table. It was nice to be able to play pool (in a bar) without the loud bar type atmosphere.Tables were nice. Service was good.“

“I'm giving the restaurant a five star review, mostly because I'm a nice person. We used to go here all the time. Then, they opened a second section (good for them, business is booming), and we stopped going. We had to wait for a table, were ignored by the waitstaff, and the restaurant was very loud due to a lack of soundproofing. I wish the owners the best of luck. The food is good. But the wait for it has become too long for my liking. It used to be a go-to place. Maybe when I return again, it will be better, perhaps this is just growing pains.“

“RUN…don’t walk…to TapThat and get these Tuna Tacos!! I’m also pretty sure they put crack into the smoked ketchup because I wanted to drink it.The atmosphere, wait staff, bar staff were amazing… the chef was even walking around chatting with tables!Trivia with Will was awesome too!!“

“Overall we've enjoyed every meal we've had at The Pointe. New leadership was implemented a few months ago and they are doing an outstanding job by offering weekly specials, keeping the menu manageable for their size and their staff. The quality of the selections we've enjoyed is outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive and the service gets better every time we visit. A great neighborhood restaurant that's working very hard to earn the community support and respect.“
